The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

38 Days !!!
It is getting so close

Getting lots of vacation things checked off my list too!

Yesterday I sat down and made a detailed packing list.

This morning I placed the order to Garden Grocer!

Called and made the reservation to board Bella (our dog)
Made and appt for Bella last week for Monday for her bordetella vacine.

Ordered an extra battery for my new camera

I have been debateing about doing that since I bought the camera but decided to go ahead and order one since I will be so mad at myself if I run out of power and can not take any pictures.

QOTD

Have you ever forgotten to pack something you could not do without and if so what?

Last year I forgot to pack my sunglasses and ended up having to buy a pair in Disney

We are very excited since we have never done a cruise for fireworks or Illuminations. Looking forward to meeting another Diser :yay:

Thanks for the welcome. We are doing the cruise on the 10th with 2 other adult couples, the one for the 9th was posted after I commited to the one on the 10th. I am as well very excited about the cruise.

When I went to pick DH from from Ft Drum in NY, I totally forgot to pack all "under garments". I packed everything else you could think of and then some. I am a "top heavy" person. So needless to say, as soon as I realized I forgot them, I had to make a trip to the mall. Atleast it gave me something to do while DH out processed! lol

I'm so thrilled with this!! I can't wait for him to wear it into the Magic Kindom!

I always make a list before packing too. Otherwise, things I dont normally think about will not make it with me on the trip!

I just recently bought a new camera for my trip and am trying to figure out what bag to carry. I dont need a big one but big enough to carry a few things. My son is 4 so I won't need diapers or anything like that. But I do like to carry snacks for him.

I think I've pretty much decided to save the cash and just bring my lightweight stroller. I'm bringing it with us anyway so I guess I reserve the right to change my mind when I get there. LOL

Since I count the weekends and not the days...5 more weekends to get things in gear!!! :woohoo:

Shelly do you leave tomorrow that you are packing today????:confused3:confused3:rotfl::lmao:

:rotfl2: Very funny!!

We have two rooms... and one of our rooms Magical Express stuff came yesterday but not the other one!!!

:scared1: Oh no!

What a great thread. I leave on the 30 of October, but most of my vacation is in November 30- 5 can I hang out here? :goodvibes
30 days :cool1::cool1: for our family, going to spend Halloween in Disney at BLT can't wait.

:welcome:

Of course you can hang out here!

DW has agreed to a 11/7-11/10 as an early 50th b-day present to me. AKL studio for us and have found a Illuminations cruise to share thanks to the DIS boards.
Hope everyone has a great trip!

:welcome:

Have you ever forgotten to pack something you could not do without and if so what?

Last year I forgot to pack my sunglasses and ended up having to buy a pair in Disney

Yes! :upsidedow

One year I forgot my Tylenol PM (I do not sleep well in hotels). And they do not sell it in all of Disney. :faint:

DH forgot his sunglasses last year and had to buy a very expensive pair at Disney! :cool2:

And I wasn't going to share this one, but one time (I do all the packing) I forgot to pack DH any, um how do I want to say this - drawers!!! :guilty::rotfl2:

QOTD- I refuse to answer this, don't want to jinx myself and break my good record. ;)

We were at Ft. Drum for a few years, our oldest was born there. Gotta love Salmon Run Mall. :rolleyes1

Sooooo cute!!!

I can't think of anything I forgot to pack on a Disney trip, but on other trips I have forgotten a tie for my DH when he had to wear a suit and also a dress shirt once. It always stresses me out that I take all the responsibility to pack and also get all the blame if something is forgotten!

Me and hubby usually unpack some of our stuff, but with us camping this time everything will stay packed to keep down on the mess in the tent :rotfl:

I cannot keep up with you people. Every time I check the thread I've got 4 pages to read!! :hyper:

I would need at least 3 tents to camp. One would be for all the clothes and supplies that I bring. Another for a family room, and then one to sleep in. I haven't gone camping in more than 25 years unless you consider a EconoLodge Camping.... I do!! :lmao:

My son-in-law is in the army posted to Ft. Drum. He and my daughter have an apartment in Gouvenour. Its totally out in the middle of nowwhere!! :sad2:

You said he out processed? What does that mean? You're not in NY anymore? I'm new to this army lingo. My dad left the army when I was 4.

I have packing lists stored on my computer. I started them when it was Windows 3.1 and Ami Pro!! Now that's old. Anyway, I have a couple versions of the Disney packing list. I have one for cooler weather and one for summer. I have weekend packing lists for visiting other locations etc. I even have a business trip packing list for my DH. These lists get added to and updated all the time, so once I add something to the list, I feel confident that I won't over look it the next time. However, the most important thing, read the list!! When we're packing up for a trip, we stage everything in the "good" living room. I go around for days with my list on a clip board checking off items as they're packed.

We left 13 years ago but while Gouvenour was in the middle of nowhere, it had some nice housing. We were lucky enough to be on post but visited other areas.

Have you ever forgotten to pack something you could not do without and if so what?

Last year I forgot to pack my sunglasses and ended up having to buy a pair in Disney

I was reading another thread about things you bring to WDW that you were glad you learned about from the DIS, and the one I added to my packing list was spare sunglasses!:cool1:

I recieved my Celebrations Magazine today  but no ME tags yet :sad1:

Got my magical express today. Makes it seem even closer. :cool1::cool1::cool1:
Do you think I am crazy, :rotfl2:our family of 4 could go in 3 suitcases, but I think we will pack 4. In the past we have brought an extra smaller bag just in case (we almost always need it). :goodvibes :rotfl2:
But this time I was thinking why not pack 4, then I don't have to worry about being to heavy on the way out or back (we fly) and one bag is free (JetBlue)for all 4 of us, and with magical express we don't have to think about bags after check in at the airport.
What do you think.
