The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

Haven't been able to check in for a few days. Happy Monday! (Atleast it's pretty much over now).
CrazyAboutGoofy- Be careful with the Dinosaur ride, we didn't know anything about it and took our DS when he was 5 and it is really scary! My husband and I both held our hands over his eyes pretty much the whole time.
QOTD: I am super excited for all the xmas stuff. Decorations, Osbourne lights, MVMCP, Epcot Santas. Also excited to do Chef Mickeys for breakfast (we've always done dinner).

Great thread, thanks for all the hard work and useful information:worship:. We are so excited to be going back for our 2nd trip, the first was thanksgiving 2007. We have decided to splurge and do the Poly from Nov 24-Dec 5th. We'll be eating at Whispering Canyon, Les Chefs de France, O'hana, Akershus, and Chef Mickeys. We are also doing the Wishes Dessert Party. Only 65 days left !!!

QOTD: I will be grinning ear to ear to see all the Christmas decorations and I must start with a Tinkerbell Slush the first thing when getting to MK.

Restaurant is a toss up: Le Cellier, esp. since they are going to 2TS credits next year and we are steak lovers. Via Napoli would be the other since it is the one meal I know DS will clean his plate.:lmao:

Ride is a toss up too: Space Mountain because it was closed for refurb. last time we went and I havent ridden it since 1987. Second is RNRC but for reasons much more "I Love Lucy" like than the other. Before I spill, you have to realize I never told DH. Last day in HS, last ride. There were 3 of us, so it was my turn to be the single rider and I had a somewhat strange and I mean strange, 6'3 guy sitting beside me. I got my shoulder bag situated, and attempted to make small talk with the guy towering over me. I LOVE this ride, so I was trying not to feel too uncomfortabe with the close quarters. And we're off. I get around the first quick turn and I feel something at my feet! My bag, which isnt very big, is now loose and I am in the front car. Now the front of the car has ALOT of open space at your feet so I am freaking out trying to keep my bag mashed against the side wall with the outside of my foot.:scared1: Meanwhile we are twisting and turning and I am slouched down as far as I can and using every muscle in my leg to keep this bag from sliding. UUGGHH! Im not sure what the guy was thinking beside me, but he gave me a really strange look when we pulled in.:lmao: Now you see why I didnt tell DH. I do not want to hear "check your bag" every time I get on a ride for the rest of my life. Call me crazy, but I dont think I will have a problem remembering.:thumbsup2

Otherwise a pineapple dole whip would be nice....if they are open in November?

Park, etc? ALL of it but I do really want to see Osbourne Lights. Is it possible to do Fantasmic and OL in the same night, which order should we do them if so? If not I'll opt for the lights this time & do Fantasmic next time, we've never done Fantasmic.

Yes, they do sell Dole Whips in November and all year!! :cloud9:

I am really looking forward to the Osborne Lights too. They are so amazing!

I just turned 30, and I am taking my single Mom, younger brother and our family friend the 14th thru 21st of November. It will be our first vacation together as a family since 1987! I'm so excited. We'll be celebrating my Mom's birthday! I booked free dining and upgraded to Deluxe.

I can't wait for a Dole Whip and I'm most looking forward to Splash!

Our ressies (per my Mom's and Brother's request):

14th: Cinderella's Royal Table (Lunch)/ Tony's Town Square (Dinner)
15th: Tusker House (Breakfast)/ Anandapur (Lunch)/ Kouzzina (Dinner)
16th: Le Chefs (Lunch)/ San Angel (Dinner)
17th: Crystal Palace (Lunch)/ Spirit of Aloha (Dinner)
18th: Sci Fi Dine In (Lunch)/ Hollywood Brown Derby Fantasmic Package (Dinner)
19th: Ohana (Breakfast)/ Le Cellier (Dinner)
20th: 50's Prime Time Cafe (Lunch)/ Boma (Dinner)
21st: Columbia Harbour House (Lunch)/ Liberty Tree Tavern (Dinner)

:welcome:

Disney confession, I have never had a dole whip. I am afraid to try one because I am worried it wont live up to it's reputation!

:scared1: WHAT???

You must try a Dole Whip. They absolutely do live up to their reputation. ::yes:: :goodvibes

:rotfl2: That story is hilarious. I'm sure you will never forget that!!

Hmmm...

I am most looking forward to seeing my daughter's excitement since it will be her first visit to WDW. I am pretty darn excited, myself! We have a few character meals booked, and I guess those excite me somewhat... but they are really for her. Otherwise we will wing it meal-wise.

As for rides... My all-time favorite it Splash Mountain and I hope she will agree to ride with me. If not, my friend and I will do the child swap. I would go on Splash Mountain all day long if I could! I also am looking forward to Soarin' since I have never been on it.

I've not had one either and honestly... didn't know they existed until right before my trip last February

I will be trying one this trip though :woohoo:

I never knew about dole whips until I joined the DIS this year and read about them, I honestly don't know how with all the time I have spent in MK I missed them :rotfl:

never had a dole whip either!! I didnt know they were even a big deal til I read about them here a few years ago---and I must say, I don't think I have ever seen anyone with one on all of our trips!! I don't even know where you get them.:scared1: Crazy huh!!

I am surprised you guys have missed them too. Esp when you are walking around Adventureland. You see about every other person with either the float or ice cream. My personal fav is the float. It is AMAZZZZZZING! Dole Whip Floats (AI), Corn Dog Nuggets (Caseys) and a big fat Cinnamon Bun (MSB) are a first night tradition while watching Spectro and Wishes. Ahhh... Can't WAIT! :cloud9:

Oh.... My ticker starts with a 1!!!! :woohoo:

48 Days and Full Panic Mode Today :scared1:

I got the bug to switch resorts while reading Shelly's PTR remembering how nice it was to walk to and fro Epcot when we stayed at the YC, well long story short I decided to see if there was any availablity with the current public discount offer or if my pin was still good but right now now 1 bdrms available at either BC or BW. It is probally for the best since I went and got DS and Ddil excited about AKL, DH doesn't care one way or the other as long as we don't stay at Poly, CBR or the Values , he just has no desire to ever try those resorts

I been trying to go over our list for Garden Grocer, DS and Ddil gave me what that want ordered, DH just sorta shrugged and nodded :rotfl:So far my list covers 3 days breakfasts for the 4 of us and 1 days lunch, I need to add some snacks and then will be done and can place the order.

I am thinking of getting my new suitcase out and begin to start putting things inside and I wore my new sneakers over the weekend to break them in a bit

I just suddenly feel like there is so much to do and time is dwindling away

under 2 months today..my ticker starts with 1..yahoo!!! I'm getting that nervous excited feeling:yay:

Gosh, a girl doesn't visit for a week or so, and you go & move into a new neighborhood on her. :rotfl2: Anyway, I'm back & I'm lovin' the new digs.

Well in that case, it might be interesting to see what Boyz to Men looks like now.

I was thinking the same thing. I would be shocked if Bobby Brown was there. I loved Boyz II Men when they came out in the 80's, so hopefully we can see them

I use to love their music too, I am excited to see Rickspringfield not so much Hanson. Ddil is excited Rick Springfield is the first concert she ever went to (she is 40)

Last year when we saw Paul Revere and the Raiders it brought back happy memories of watching Where the Action Is, I did have one of their albums back when but my old heart trob Mark Lindsey was not at WDW :sad1:

Paul Revere did not look bad for his age at all :goodvibes

Here is a QOTD: would you rather spend one night in Cindy's castle in the suite or have a weeklong Disney vacation for free?

I would choose the night in Cinderella's Castle hands down, although I know DH would say I was nuts to turn down a week long vacation

I would have to say a night in Cinderella's Castle also.... That would be a once in a lifetime thing and I hope we have multilple trips to WDW coming in my lifetime..... :goodvibes

Depends on the resort and if dining is included! Is it standard view, non preferred location or are we talking MK View at the CR? Can you be more specific? ;)

Nah.... I would go for the free week long vacation. However, DD2 would not be very happy with my decision.
