We are going on Nov 12-14, staying for the first time at ASMu. We were there last November and we LOVED it!!! being from South Florida, we thought it was rather chilly (yes, we were that family walking around with sweaters :rotfl:) and the parks seemed empty, we rarely had to wait for any attraction, and it was magical seeing all the Holiday decorations. We had so much fun, we decided Nov was the best month to visit so we are coming back!!

This time we are going a little earlier in the month because we are going to our first F&W Fest. :goodvibes and also Festival of the Masters and we are so excited!!! DS can hardly wait...and he's not the only one :cloud9:

My parent are coming along too, which me an DH love, it's always good to have extra legs/eyes/hands, to chase after a very active 2 year old ;) so yeah.. now we just have to wait for November to come

Having a REALLY horrible week here, my mom is in the hospital. It started a couple of months ago when she had some weakness in her left leg, it's a very long story of mis-diagnosis and wasted time, but it turns out that she has stage IV lung cancer which has metatasized in her brain. The weakness on her left side wasn't caused by poor circulation as her primary care physician told her, it's caused by the two brain lesions. She's finally in the right hospital with the right doctors after having spent the last two months in a rehab center doing PT to regain the use of her left leg. Lots of very hard decisions at the moment. By the way, she's 80 years old and has never smoked.

Holy cow! The time is flying:cool1:!

Guess DH felt guilty about leaving DS6 home in November while we celebrate our anniversary, so....he invited my family and booked another trip for free dining next August:woohoo:!

This is what my little guy had to say...:banana::banana:

That is awesome! :cool1:

I'm so sorry to hear that about your mom. I will pray for her and for you and the decisions that will need to be made.

 I am so sorry... my DH is dealing with this also.. his dad has bone cancer and his mom ovarian cancer... which the doctors didn't find even after two exams in the last six months.... now it has spread aggressively.... we will keep you both in our prayers

I'm am sorry for all of you! Cancer is just such a scary thing. I'm really sorry you all have to go through this with your parents. It must be very hard for you. You are all in my prayers. May you continue to find your strength in God, family, friends (and Disney -- at least for a magical escape!).

Somewhere I saw that OL were not showing on November 22nd and wrote that into my schedule. But now I'm going back to confirm and can't find this on-line anywhere. I did see that in 2009, that OL did not show on that night. Figure maybe I just saw this and thought it was for this year, too.

Soooo, did anyone else see if Osbourne Lights are dark on Nov 22nd (or any other dates)?

I do know that Disney will rent out the park to special groups from time to time ...

Thanks!

Oh, bless your hearts! I'll be praying for you all & your families! :flower3: I just HATE cancer! I have definitely learned through my mom's diagnosis & my FIL's diagnosis to seek a 2nd or 3rd opinion. I'm so glad you guys found out what was going on. :grouphug:

I am so very sorry to hear about your mother, you will be in my thoughts and prayers

I've been slogging away at work lately, so I've got a lot of catching up to do here! :surfweb:

I'll second that & add a cup of tea from the stand just outside of England while waiting for Illuminations. This is only real tea in WDW! I am not a coffee drinker, but I am just as picky about my tea as some are about their coffee.

Have a wonderful weekend! We are off to Kennywood tomorrow! :yay: (local amusement park)

Hope you had a great day at Kennywood! My dad is from the Pgh area (Wilson/Glassport specifically) so our vacation was to go up to Glassport and see my grandparents & aunt every summer for about 2 1/2 weeks. And of course, every trip included a visit to Kennywood. Loved it up there so much, that I made the journey from Louisiana to attend Pitt, and lived up there for five years. Still kills me I didn't get to work at Kennywood while I was in college. Haven't been up there since my cousin's wedding in '08, when DD was 9 months old. We're planning a reunion trip up there next summer, when she'll be 3 1/2...can't wait to show her Kiddie Land!

For those of you who don't know what we're talking about, let me assure you that it's worth the trip to Pittsburgh just to go to Kennywood. It's easily one of the best old-fashioned amusement parks in the country. All the other wonderful stuff the city has to offer just becomes a bonus after that!

As for me, having a mixed bag of a day. Just this week we've gotten a break from the oppressive heat and humidity, so DD and I enjoyed playing outside and hanging out with the neighbors (their kids are 5.5,4, and 20mo) who were doing the same. Unfortunately DH's grandma was taken to the hospital this morning and is not doing well at all. She's 85 and while they're still running tests, it appears to be trouble with her liver and pancreas. Trying to prepare myself if this turns out to be her time. We're extremely close to her (have lunch at her house almost every Sunday) so I'm not sure how I'll explain things to DD. DH is taking a concealed weapons class today, so we'll be going up to the hospital to see her this evening.

Oh! I almost forgot to ask! For those who have been this time of year before, do you think the park hours are pretty well set now? A couple months ago when they flip-flopped the EMH at DHS and AK during our week, I made extra reservations for those two parks, and thankfully kept the originals which paid off when the EHM went back to what was originally posted. However, I never cancelled that second set of ADRs in case they flipped again, but I'm thinking it's about time to cancel them. I figure with the new discounts out there are people who could use them. Those two are a lunch at H&V, and a breakfast at Tusker House, plus I've got one at LTT to cancel as well b/c I decided we should eat earlier on our MVMCP night. Y'all think I'm safe to cancel the extras now, or should I hold onto them a bit longer?

summerlady and MAGGIED, I am so sorry to hear of your parents problems. It is a blessing that you are there for them to help them through this difficult time. :grouphug:

My favorite place to relax at DW is any old where that I run into DIS friends, new and old. Mostly round the pool in the evenings though. I take pictures for my collection. Say 'cheese' please?:):)

I sure hope it is safe and they don't start switching things around again since just this morning I went in and tweeked my ressies for our last two days.

I had also scheduled an extra lunch on our DTD/DAK day and an extra breakfast on our last day thinking I might have to switch the two days around, I cancelled the lunch at DTD for lunch at DAK (Tuskers with reserved seating for the finding Nemo show)and cancelled breakfast at CP keeping the CP lunch on our last day.

Anyway keeping my fingers crossed.
All I want now is for them to schedule a second showing of Fantasmic on the 11th

QOTD: Asked my DH and DS11 and we are all having a hard time. My DS11 said "we don't really relax". It's fun to sit on a curb while waiting for parades and watch everyone.
I had a really long, hard day today too. We're headed to New Jersey this weekend for a family reunion-should be fun.

:lmao: That is so funny!

I changed my CP to a 5:10pm dinner and the 8:15pm show. Still eating at Coral Reef. I also cancelled my Via Napoli at 7:45. Both on Nov 26th.

I am not sold on the CP yet. Well, I should say everyone else in my house is not sold on the CP yet. I totally plan to go! LOL They all seem to think it will take to much time out of our day. Which, it may. That is the reason we choose to skip Fantasmic! this year, to give more park time. And here I go booking things that take up more time. I may end up switching things around and just wing it in regards to the CP. I dunno????? Decisions, Decisions....

So here ya go Shelly, my updated ADRs.

Nov 20 Dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse (9pm)
Nov 21 Breakfast at Ohana (8:05am) / Dinner at Narcoossee (5pm)

Jessica - when I seen your post about changeing your CP pkg ressie I had to chuckle to myself, why you wonder .......beacause as of yesterday morning I went through and cancelled all my extra ADR's and told myself I was Done....Finished

Fast Fwd to this morning and there I sat making another ressie for Fultons in DTD, which only yesterday I cancelled since during the night I kept waking up and thinking about how much I really want to eat there this trip

If it were just myself and DH going on this trip I would spend the entire day at DTD and skip DAK but my DS and Ddil have not been to Disney since '98 so I know they want to go there, who knows maybe we will split up that day:confused3

As far as your family not being 100% on board about the time CP will take up, I am sure once they see and hear it they will be glad they did, to me it sounds like a great way to spend and evening at Disney if visiting while it is being offered.

My Final (I hope) ADR's (I have cancelled a few of our Breakfast ADR's since we have decided to spend our mornings relaxing in the villa and have breakfast there because of the late nights we have planned)

11/8 Sanaa 12:40 Lunch
LTT 7:30 Dinner myself and DH
HDDR 9:30 Dinner DS and Ddil

11/9 Le Cellier 1:30 Lunch
Rose & Crown 7:25 Dinner

11/10 Biergarten 1:45 Lunch
Via Napoli 9:30 Late Dinner

11/11 Boma 8:45 Breakfast
50's Prime Time 2:30 Late Lunch
T-Rex 10:00 Late Dinner

11/12 Fultons 12:40 Lunch
or
Tuskers 2:15
Boma 8:30 Dinner

11/13 Boma 8:15 Breakfast
CP 1:15 Lunch

The above schedule is subject to change at the whim of this Diser :rotfl:
