Too I think people's attitudes in general have changed, so it's no surprise that CM's have followed suit. As a whole people, at least here in the US, are not as polite as they used to be; we've seen a decline in manners and values, and seen a rise in rudeness and vulgarity. So not only are CM's less likely to have those squeaky-clean behaviors, they're also dealing with more people who are likely to bring out their less desirable sides.

But as for the new discounts, I for one am thrilled! I was just talking to my sister on Saturday about my frustrations of going to WDW full price, when there have been so many discounts available at other times. (My week was blocked out of both Monster Pin - which we didn't get anyway - and free dining.) The 30% room discount on a mod works out better than the $300 gift card by about $40, so I'll be calling to inquire about that one when DD goes down for her nap later. Will probably go ahead and pay off the trip while I've got them on the phone.

I hope it doesn't effect our week either, as far as crowd levels. I'm nervous about it anyways seeing as how we always go the last week of September & I hope it's not worse then that or hubby may get irked with me for booking now instead of waiting until next September. :)

As for WDW not being the same....I went for one day back in the 80's so I can't compare to anything like that I don't think. But let me say that in 2006 it was magical for us, we had great mousekeeping, customer service, etc. Same in 2008, we've never had a bad experience at WDW in any way shape or form *knock on wood* ;)

We've only been going to WDW since 2005, so we have no Disney experience from the 'good old days'. I have heard people (on the DIS) say a lot how it's not as magical and the CM's have lost the magic, etc. But we haven't noticed it. It's always been amazing for us! Hope that continues. :wizard:

I will say that WDW housekeeping seems to be lacking compared to other hotels we stay at. But I just think they are always so busy that a good deep cleaning gets overlooked and doesn't seem to happen often.

Hi everyone!! 81 more days!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Its been a great week for me this week. We hit 99 days, I got to go swimming, finished school shop, and today.... We bought a Swagger Wagon! A 2011 Silver Sky Toyota Sienna SE. I LOVE IT! I had a 08 Sienna, but when they changed the body style this year, it caught my eye. I had planned to keep it 2 more years, but I couldn't wait! Got a great deal too. Walked out paying $2000 less then sticker, even after financing, taxes, etc!

So this year, we will be crusin' to Disney in our Swagger Wagon!
JEALOUS!!! :lmao::lmao: I am a 2005 Sienna and we just paid it off at the beginning of the year.. I promised my DH that I could wait for the 2012 to come out and use this year of no car payments to save for a nice down payment.. I CAN'T WAIT!!!

My mom got some bad news on Friday. They have suspended her chemo infefinitely. :sad2: She's been having some symptoms that require her to get a CT of her brain this week. We'll get results on Friday. It's is very hard not to worry, but we know that whatever happens is the way it is supposed to be. We trust God's plan.
:hug::hug: I am so sorry...

Good morning November friends

I feel like I haven't talked to everybody in forever, when in-fact it's only been a few days!! We are just back from a weekend in Hershey and Gettysburg. We had a really nice time, but are all very tired and I have a ton of laundry to do! :faint:

We are going to Hershey Park next week! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Just booked my room for January when I go back to run the 1/2 Marathon!! Used the 30% off room only they have right now! :thumbsup2

2 more weeks until school starts!!!! I can't wait to get back to a schedule and start all the fun fall activities!

We're here at the beach for the next few days, weather is fantastic, so much cooler than it was a couple of weeks ago. Which means....November will be here before we know it!

We started going to WDW in 1986 and I agree that it's not the same now as it was, but nothing stays the same, you know? And sometimes that's a good thing. The magic is still there, even though we never used to worry or even think about crowd calendars or ADRs and walked right up to Le Cellier for dinner a few times. You just have to make your own magic now, and I still love it after all these years.

Have a great week, everyone. :flower3:

We have been going to WDW for over 25 years and not one trip has been like another. Maybe there were certain things that we loved about one trip that we did not get quite the same on subsequent trips but with the right attitude you can enjoy whatever comes your way. It is the same when you go anywhere.

If you go somewhere for the first time and have a positive experience you will continue to have a good feeling about that location and conversely if you have a bad experience.

When you go someplace over and over again it has to mean that the positive has far outweighed the negatives.

Those who insist on a certain room assignment, a certain amount of towel animals, certain seats on an attraction are doomed for disappointment.

As for me I like different points of view and can find something new in each experience and so I am seldom disappointed.:)

I just changed our flights down to MCO and saved $97.20!! I wish it was a real refund and not just a credit towards future flights, but I'll take it!

Woo-hoo! Got the room only discount (30% for our stay at CBR), and saved $400! Wheels are already spinning in my head on what we can use that money for!:banana::banana:

Hi everyone! I was just reading a fun thread about "not so normal things to pack that are useful at WDW" -
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2463742 :surfweb:

thanks for the great thread...I subbed so I can come back and read more of the tips....:thumbsup2

TruBlu-sorry to hear about your mother. Sending good thoughts her way!:thumbsup2

Px4-Glad to hear that the doc. gave you such a good report. Now, take it easy!:rotfl:

Momof2DisneyBoys-my daughter has always wanted to visit Hershey Park. She is a certified chocoholic and inherited it from my FIL. She has to have a nibble every day or we pay for it.

My DS16 loves all of the old battlefields. One of my cousins researched our genealogy and has a lot of our relatives service/medical records from the CW. What a devastating time.

He even had the Will of my great, great, great grandfather. In it, he left 1/2 of his land to his wife but if she was wreckless in her spending, or if she wasted or embezzled from the property that her sons would contract (eventually inherit) and make returns (farming income), then her sons as her guardians could take over the estate.:scared1: She was probably fortunate to have inherited anything. At that time, most land went directly to the sons.

I must have inherited my spending habits from my great, great, great grandmother! I wouldn't like my sons being my guardians. I can't imagine what women went through in those times.

We saved $184 during Thanksgiving over our other code. It will pay for MVMCP! We're going on Nov. 18th.

Just wanted to share.... Yesterday, we took my DD2 to the dr for her back to school check-up. Well, the office is being redecorated. To everything Disney! Everywhere you look, there is Disney pictures. Either bought or pictures that have been taken. Its a pediatric group and one the owners is a massive Disney freak. So, he is turning it into his Magic Kingdom! LOL

School starts FRIDAY! Soccer on Monday! Life is about to go back to normal. I don't think I have ever been so excited for summer to end. This one has been way to chaotic!

I wasn't too thrilled about the whole Gettysburg thing, but it was actually quite interesting and eye opening. Yes, what a devastating time for our country.

I'm glad we went. The kids really enjoyed it!

2 more weeks until school starts!!!! I can't wait to get back to a schedule and start all the fun fall activities!

School starts FRIDAY! Soccer on Monday! Life is about to go back to normal. I don't think I have ever been so excited for summer to end. This one has been way to chaotic!

Our school starts on Sept 7th and soccer starts on the 8th. So yes, back to normal and November will be here before we know it! :thumbsup2

School starts a week from Weds. here. Most NC schools can't start before Aug. 25th due to tourism industry getting a law passed.

DS8 starts baseball practice on Thursday. DD13 wants to try out for volleyball this fall.

DS11 started track this morning. That is on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and sometimes Saturdays. When soccer starts for DS8 here in a few weeks that will be on Wednesdays and Sundays. So yes - back to the normal hectic routine and before we know it we will be in Disney!! :cool1:

That is us, 4 days a week for soccer practice, then games on Sat! Both girls want to start on travel teams this year but I told them I want to get threw our first season at different soccer fields and see how that goes before I throw them both into 2 different teams each. We have always practiced at the same field site. This year, DD1 moved to a different location. Luckly DHs job lets him actually make it to games. His previous job he worked around 80hr a week and hadn't seen but one or two games in 5 years! Now, he even is the asst coach for DD1 team. So I won't be flying solo anymore. I felt like I was going crazy doing all the running on my own before.

I love soccer, but sheesh, it wears me out. Now I know what my mom meant when she complained about me dancing and cheering at the same time! lol

Luckily at DS8's age they only practice once a week and then have games on Sunday afternoons. So my DH is able to coach too! Last year DS11 was on a travel team and it was rough, I had to go with him on Sundays and DH stayed with DS8. It was crazy!! DS11 decided that he didn't want to do it anymore since he had to go on a travel team now, no more in-house for his age group. I was sad because he has played since he was 5, but I wasn't going to force him to play if he didn't want to. So then he tried hockey this winter. Now he is starting track. :upsidedow

I know what you mean. Last year my DH worked outside of Boston during the week and came home on weekends. I had a new appreciation for single parents.
