Guess what I did today???



ADDED ANOTHER DAY TO OUR TRIP!!!

I was never happy with our late Saturday night flight home, so I changed it to Sunday!! AirTran changed our flight with no charge and WDW honored the 40% off pin I booked with 7 months ago for the extra night!

WOOO HOOOO!!!!
Yaaaaayyyyy!!! I knew you could do it!!!!!! Hee hee!!! Wow...now the pressure is off for me to be at BC by lunch!!! Nah...I will get there as soon as the ME brings me!!!!

Congrats Shelly on adding an extra day!!!

Yesterday Maggie and I spent the day making usre paperwork was all in order for her College Program.... only missing a few things... she is so excited to go...

Since I will be in WDW at the end of August I thought if any of you wanted me to mail a postcard to your little ones from Mickey (and friends) to tell them how excited Mickey will be to see them in Novmeber Iwould be happy to do so... just let me know your childrens name(s) and address and I can mail it from Disney when I am there....

Today I am also booking our unexpected Dec/Jan trip... how lucky am I to be able to go in August, Nov and Dec... yeah.... it will be just Mom and I in Dec/Jan.... she wants to see Disney all done up for the holidays and I have to pick Maggie up from the College program then so it is working out.. now to get the reservation....

This is our third trip and we did the postcard thing the first year, as the way to tell the kids that we were going. I expected them to be all excited etc. once they received the postcards but they just weren't. I think they are more excited over this trip then either of the previous ones, probably because they are older and really know what to expect. With all that said, could you send two (our oldest isn't going with us)to my house? I'll message you the information

We are notorious for adding days once we get there. That is why we have always drove. Can't do that now since DH vacations are set. But it was fun when he was off for a couple weeks and we would plan a week there and then keep adding days! LOL

I foolishly went to the Continental website today just checking even though I already bought our plane tickets a couple of weeks ago at what I thought was a good price, $797 rt for 4 inc. taxes and all that. Today the same flights are $20 cheaper per person...$80 down the drain. I wanted to get the plane tickets before the price went up so I bought them the minute the price went down. I'll get over it but right now I'm annoyed with myself.

I foolishly went to the Continental website today just checking even though I already bought our plane tickets a couple of weeks ago at what I thought was a good price, $797 rt for 4 inc. taxes and all that. Today the same flights are $20 cheaper per person...$80 down the drain. I wanted to get the plane tickets before the price went up so I bought them the minute the price went down. I'll get over it but right now I'm annoyed with myself.

When that has happened to me in the past, I console myself with the fact that by buying earlier I was able to get the seats I wanted----it helps ease the pain a little bit

Having the option to add on more days while we are there would be so cool! BUT - we have to fly. We'd never make the 20 hour drive!

We did the same thing both years when we drove

How can you not just keep adding days if you don't "have" to leave. My DH has so many vacation days to "burn" that we now will be having 3 Disney trips in 2010!! One down (spring break) two to go. We'll be down in August to take DS18 to Florida Tech for the fall semester. We will top that off with 8 nights at the Pop Century with DD8. Then we're returning for Thanksgiving week.

My DS18 is also interested in the College Program. What school and year is your daughter in? I heard you had to at least be a sophomore. DS is majoring in mechanical engineering. If he could get in with Imagineering... it would be awesome... but he knows they put you where you are needed. He'd do well. He's a good worker.

You got a great deal and better you got what you did than paying far more. Don't go and look again you hear me?!?!?! Once you get your fares, STOP LOOKING! wagging finger. Just think, the people sitting all around you most likely payed far more.

Alright... we all gotta be like my friend April. April has family in Miami, and she routinely finds flights from Washington-Dulles to Miami for like $49.00-$59.00!! Or even $39.00. I think she mostly flies Southwest and Jetblue. That said... shouldn't there be such flights to Orlando? Do we need to have April go into the travel agent business?

Duuuuuude! If I could get flights like that, I may never EVER be home! Well, I'm beginning to hate flying because the TSA looooves me for some reason. But I'll cope if my desination is WDW! I'm just hoping to find a flight for around $200 each. Sadly for the airlines but great for us for now, that's the same fare I've been paying for oh, 15 years. I'm toying w/ arriving a day early if that will help, it'll just be a juggle w/ my DVC points and where we stay.

What's your home resort? Ours is Saratoga. We'll be staying there in November, but this August (being out of points for this use year) we'll stay at the Pop. I'm glad we're close to Florida. We usually drive for one reason or another. This August we'll be driving. I like to be able to leave at my leisure and add a day if I want... but this trip.. we're driving because we're taking my son to Florida Tech for college first.

I hate flying too!! I was sooo badly treated by TSA when I was pregnant with my DD8, on the way to Texas, that I wrote to my congressman. TSA also loves to double screen my DH. Must be that suspcious blond hair/blue eyes and the children and Mickey in tow!

Shelly- That is so awesoame that you added an extra day!
I am in the midst of making some changes. My in laws and SIL and family are probably coming for 4 nights now (at the end of our stay). They are staying at the Swan or Dolphin and want us to join them a couple of nights (my FIL is paying). So now i'm thinking of making 5 nights at SSR into a one bedroom instead of a studio and then spending the last 3 nights with them.
I think they will also kick in towards our AP's because they are paying for 5 day passes for Dh's sister and family. Now if they would just make a final decision before everything is booked!
