You added a day and I'm subtracting one. The flights are crazy expensive for us to stay the extra day. BUT, my DH is very happy. This means we can get home in time to make it to the college football game we were going to have to miss.

Wow! What a wonderful long trip!!! This will be our shortest one ever, but hopefully it will be just as fun.

Thanks for the kind words about my mom. She is so strong that she is getting US through it.

I think that is why he agreed to do Disney (he would rather be in Maine) because he wants to see me go there because I have wanted to go for years. And thanks for the sweet words We've had so many family members with cancer (FIL just passed away in March w/ it & so many others have it) But we've found that it has actually brought us closer & reminds us to make EACH day count!

Its so wonderful that you will be able to share Disney with your mother and your children. I never got that opportunity. In fact, Mother and Dad never got to meet her youngest granddaughter as she was born after mom passed away, and dad too. Both of my parents died of cancer in 98 and 99. Make sure you give your mom and extra hug and treasure all the memories of this trip. Be sure to get the photopass CD with the discount code. http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitoffer.aspx It will be worth it. Each time I take my children to Disney, I wish that my parents could have been here to share it with us... although, I know they're looking down on us and smiling.

Yes, there are characters all gussied up for Christmas at MVMCP
Even Stitch had a holiday scarf on two years ago. I don't know if it is a regular list of characters, but I think I might have seen a list of previous years characters somewhere....maybe allears.com????

When we were there for Thanksgiving week in 2007, all the characters throughout the parks were dressed for the holidays all the time. We did not attend MVMCP, but I have photos of my family with Minnie, Mickey, Donald,Goofy and Lilo dressed in winter/holiday clothes. I remember Minnie specifically had on a Christmas sweater. Safari Donald had holly wreath decor around his park ranger hat. Lilo had on a holiday green and red muumuu. Those photos were taken in the Camp Minnie-Mickey area of Animal Kingdom. Also at DHS the characters in the parade were all holiday themed up. Lilo was wearing the same dress and stitch had on a holiday colored floral lei. I still have those pics on my fridge.

My mom IS a fighter! It sounds like yours is too!! I wish I was half as strong as her.....She asked my boys to bring her a new hat from Disney since she's bald again. They can't wait to pick one out! They had the one she wears now made for her. It is pink with "Fight Like A Girl" one the front and "Chemo-Sabe" on the back. DS8 has been calling her Chemo-Sabe since she started the chemo, and she loves it!

My Mom amazes me everyday! Her oncologist calls her a "walking miracle" LOVE that name--Chemo-Sabe! We may have to borrow it for Mom

I'm so sorry for your losses I do wish we were taking Mom with us to WDW, but this is my MIL, who just lost her DH to cancer in March. We were able to take MY mom with us in 2008. Looking back, I'm THRILLED we did it!! Yes, we had photopass, & yes we took thousands of pictures! We gave her a photo album that Christmas with hundreds of our WDW pics in it I will always cherish those memories & that album. BTW, thanks for the photopass link...I needed to find that!

Anyone need a extra DH? He told me last night he thinks we should move over to the BC or back to a monorail resort. When we first booked our trip we were booked at the CR with MK view. He talked me into switching to the GF because he thinks the CR is to loud and busy. Then we as a group decide the GF isn't for us and we all choose the YC. I think I may strangle him. He knows how excited I am about YC but I really want to go "home" to the CR! Urrrrrrrr! Good thing the kids weren't here to hear him or else I would probably be spending my morning on the phone with the TA changing resorts again!

Today I started really getting ready for the neighborhood yard sale... it is my goal to make enough to pay for our MVMCP tickets... and maybe a little bit more.. I do have three big ticket items that if they were to sell that would be great... a antique sewing machine with cabinet from 1903 and two oriental rugs my DH had made while he was in Saudi Arabia... most of the rest is household stuff, clothes, a car top carrier, a desk.. stuff like that... and what doesn't sell is NOT coming back into this house...

Hello all. joining in we are going Nov 3-14 staying split stay POFQ and CBR.

This will be our first Nov trip and are super excited. I have always wanted to go to see the Christmas decorations and attend MVMCP but figured would have to wait until the kids were done with school as did not want to pull them out once they start school. So DH who works retail was told he could have the time off we jumped at it since DS would still only be in preschool.

Our last trip was Sept 2008 though it was very hot we had very little lines and are hoping for the same this time around. Had a blast at MNSSHP so we are really looking forward to MVMCP.

This will be DS 2nd trip and DD first. We just can't wait...

Wed., 11/3 - Le Cellier(lunch)
Thurs., 11/4 - breakfast at BOMA
Fri., 11/5 - Flying Fish Cafe
Sat.,11/6 - Artiste Point(we staying at VWL so I thought this would be a nice and relaxing way to end the trip before leaving the following morning)

I'm hungry already!

I figure we might as well do something fun with the money because it is just stuff that I would donate anyway....and MCVCP tickets seems like a good deal... we are going to do the Nov 8th one... I think they are around $53 each with the annual passholders discount
