Something I've wanted to do for about a year or so -

Take the promo pictures of the park/resorts. The ones used in Ads, print materials, ect... I have a small small small background in amateur photography, but I like to think I'm good at composition and would love to get access to the parks for more artistic shots

We are going from 11/16-11/24 so the majority of our trip is in the free dining blackout. We already had a 30% pin that covered all of our dates. I was very happily surprised that we are now getting free dining for the whole trip. Someone on another thread said Disney had stopped extending it for the whole trip and would only do it for the exact days of the offer. I am so glad they were wrong.

We are going with our three children (they will be 11 months, 4, and 7) and my sister and her two children (7 & 16). However, we have not told any of them yet. I just ordered personalized Mickey and Minnie shirts for each of them. My sister and her children are coming to visit next week and we are going to have them open them up. We are a little worried about her 16 year old daughter. We will be leaving on her 16th birthday and we all know she would probably rather one of the insane Sweet 16 parties. However this is the only time we can all go and it just happens to be her birthday. Any one have ideas on things I can show her that will get her excited too? I have really tried to plan meals that she will really like. Any ideas?

I was going to welcome you to the thread, but it looks like I already had you on the list - just had it a day off. But WELCOME anyway!! :goodvibes Sounds like a fun trip you have planned. Sorry I can't help you out on the 16 year old stuff. . . haven't gotten that far yet!

I will be 40 next year (in Dec) and my plan is to be on a 3 night Disney cruise. Already checked the dates and my BD is a Friday night, which is perfect! Now we're just deciding whether to buy more DVC points or to just pay for the trip. (probably buy points since we can use them for the next 40 some years). Either way I'm going to guarantee that my 40th is something to remember.

If I could have any job at WDW it would be a wedding planner:lovestruc I love weddings and would love to make other people's wedding extra special!

So, we haven't had a QOTD for a bit. Here's one for you:
If you could work at WDW, what job would you want?
I would like to help decorate rides and work on the costumes.

Great question! I would want to be a performer of some kind, like the Main Street Trolly singers! That would be so much fun!

My 40th is falling on Monday and I am taking half that day off from work, but for an actual "celebration" hubby and I are going to St Augustine for the weekend. My sis is keeping all four kids starting this afternoon at 2 p.m. and we will pick them back up on Sunday morning. :woohoo:

Just bought our plane tickets at Continental.com just now, I didn't want to wait any longer now that fares are half way reasonable. But, I did change our dates just a bit, arriving one day earlier, ditto leaving one day earlier and saved over $100. :)

Don't you love any time you can save money! :goodvibes

Good morning ladies! :)

All this talk about turning 40 has really got me thinking. I have been trying to put it out of my head - like that will keep it from happening. :rotfl: DH had a huge surprise party for me when I turned 30. And a surprise dinner for me when I turned 35. And after that I told him to not even think about any kind of surprise party for my 40th, I just want to be left alone!! :sad2:

But now you all have me thinking that I should get something good out of it! :goodvibes Maybe that Disney cruise I've been wanting to go on and he has been reluctant. . . It will be my 40th birthday, so he can't say no, right?!

Hmm. . . I'll have to start thinking about that one. . . I have a ways to go yet.

Congrats on the airfare and saving money!! :cool1:

Just did some catching up...best wishes to everybody--speedy recoveries, continued good health, happy birthdays...and a shout out for the swim team mom (I'm one too!!).

QOTD...Disney job? I love this question! I so want to be a Disney photographer...photo pass, resort session...I don't care. (My secret dream is a solo trip to WDW just to take pictures ;) I know I would miss my family, but just to have a few days to take as much time as I want taking photos...ahhhh)

Surely he couldn't say no  PLUS he would get a cruise out of the deal! Its a win/win situation!:cloud9:

:welcome: Wendy!! Glad you came over!

I guess I didn't realize you had that many people joining you. Wow that's going to be quite the party!! :cool1:

Yeah, you would think! Too bad he doesn't see a cruise as a good thing. :confused3 He's not a huge fan of the water. :sad2:

I'll keep working on him though. I never thought he would like WDW and he loves it! :goodvibes

I haven't been on here for some time, you know, life, buys, that stuff. In fact right now I am out of town visiting my grandparents. I am stripping wallpaper, painting, etc. Anyway, I saw the thread pop up again and wanted to say hi and share my :banana::banana: news!

So free dining came out and we missed it by 2 days. Uggg, so I ran the numbers and if we added 2 more day to the start of our trip we'd get free dining. So we now are staying 11 magical nights and took our rates down over $1000 on 2 rooms!

Here is the breakdown for our room (oldest DD is on my grandparents' room so she is not included here.)

Originally we booked 9 nights for 2 adults, plus one Disney adult and a child. We had a value resort, QSDP and 6 day tickets. Rack Rate was $3050.67
Then we allpied a small room only pin and took it down to $2934.97
We added 2 nights so now 11 nights, free QSDP, still 6 day tickets though we plan to add one and our rate is $2345.63 So our room alone we saved $600 to add 2 nights!!!
Needless to say I am still pretty excited. An 11 day vacation seemed like only a dream and now we are doing it. My DH can't get that much time off work normally so he will have to work more then usual (he always has to work when on vacation anyway) but he said he's OK with sitting poolside with a cold drink on his laptop then stuck back at the office anway, and to save money while doing it...yeah, he's good with that!

Isn't it a great feeling once you buy your air fare plus saving $$ good deal :thumbsup2

Welcome to our group, that does sound like one fantastic gathering

You got a great deal it sounds like, its nice DH can still get away even if he will have to work part of the vacation, I use to have a district manager who would always work on vacation we just to pick on him when he would say he was on the laptop at the beach

I went for my renal ultrasound today, the Dr will have the results this afternoon, hopefully all will be well and I won't get a phone call from him.

Keep your fingers crossed for me :)
