UPS brought my new suitcase yesterday and I simply Loveeeeeeeeeeeee it

Not sure if I mentioned it or not but I bought a new camera for this trip, last year I bought a new one today a fuji bridge style but found it to be a bit cumbersome to lug around the parks, if I kept it out hanging around my neck I was constantly having to watch to keep it from banging into people/things and if I put it in the bag, then it was a pain to keep taking it out when I wanted to shoot a picture, so I decided I wanted something small for this trip a point and shoot with a decent zoom.

I took a few shots of my dog when it came but put it away not touching it until today when I decided to go out and take a few shots of flowers in my garden. Not sure if I am going to be happy with it , the zoom is 8x which is highter than most point and shoots but my bridge had 18x. I used the micro setting this morning so I will need to compare picture quality to my fuji.

I use to use a SLR before the days of digital and lug around my 50mm and 200mm lens plus various filters, flash etc my camera bag I took with me on vacation was the size of a small cooler :rotfl:

Anyway this all brings me to my QOTD:

What type of Camera do you use when you travel to WDW?

2009-Fuji S8100 10MP 18xZoom

2010-GE E1486TW 14MP 8xZoom

for the qotd my personal camera is none. I'm not a shutterbug. My wife has a canon rebel 2000 digital. I'm certain we'll have a zillion images.

As far as Marrakesh is concerned for our trip it is a must visit, as well as the Norweigan rest. We've raised the appreciate world culture through food. After all it is a common denominator. We all have to eat right? So what better way to learn about a culture than to set for a meal. I've been to some Morrocan places in the city and DC. Kids and wife have not. Even I have never had Norweigan food.

We're skipping Chinese because we get slamming Chinese here in Jersey so I don't want to be let down. We chose Le Cellier because I want to show them the difference between French and French Canadian. After working in Quebec City I've learned there is a BIG difference.

I JUST bought a new Canon Rebel t1i. Hopefully it's not TOO big for me to enjoy our vacation :confused3 I've always used a cheap Sony Cybershot & I hate all the night shots. Soooo, I'm gonna do all I can to LEARN this doggone camera before November. :rotfl: PLUS---We always buy the photopass cd...

[What type of Camera do you use when you travel to WDW?

I have a DSLR . . . Nikon D80 (Current upgrade is D90). I keep my favorite "all purpose" 18-200 lens on. (I also have a decent point&shoot, but I know I would regret not having my Nikon at WDW!) Yes, it is a bit cumbersome, but if you get a quality strap it makes a BIG difference (OP/TECH USA has a great one-mine was $20ish on Amazon-it is padded around the neck and sits a little across my shoulder to distribute the weight). I keep my camera around my neck except on rides and while eating. I have a small "crosspack" (like a small backback, but one strap worn across)that I lined the bottom of with fun-foam from a craft store for protection. My camera sits in it lens up and I have quick access. (The pack is not a formal camera bag, just a quality nylon bag with a few pockets so I can store an extra battery, wipe for lens, money, tickets, phone and camera without screaming CAMERA BAG-STEAL ME :) Works great.

QOTD: What type of camera do we use a Disney?

Since 2007, I have used a Canon XTi. Before that, I had a Canon point and shoot. Not sure what model. Both of my girls have Canon SD1300.

I am now a Nikon convert! The Nikon D5000 -I LOVE IT! Can't wait till Nov to use it at WDW. It was a bit difficult to leave Canon, but it is a much better camera!

Great question!! :goodvibes I LOVE taking pictures. Especially at Disney. :lovestruc

For our first 3 WDW trips I had a Kodak Easy Share CX7430. It worked pretty good and had an awesome zoom. It was terrible with taking action shots and shots at night (fireworks) though. And soon didn't hold a charge for very long and the shutter didn't always work and the pictures started to come out dark. DS11 still uses it and it still works, but not great.

For the last 2 trips I have used my Sony Cyber-Shot and I LOVE it!! And it is pink, so that makes it even better!! (Living with a house full of boys there aren't too many pink things around here!) It takes awesome pictures in the day and night. Great action shots as well as fireworks! The only thing I would change about it is that I wish it zoomed in a little better.

Can't wait to take 1000+ new pics in November!!! :cool1:

What type of Camera do you use when you travel to WDW?

Canon Powershot SD600. Nothing fancy, and it's a couple of years old. It's not that good with fireworks, night shots, any movement, etc. I am hoping to upgrade to a better camera eventually.

Sorry to have been away for so long. DS8 broke his finger between 2 one pound handweights. I don't think he'll be swinging them again any time soon.;)

Todays QOTD: Who is your favorite Disney sidekick?

Tinkerbell and Baloo

QOTD: What type of camera do we use at Disney?

A really crappy one. Please excuse my language, but I have a love/hate relationship with our current camera.

Hi everyone,
Has anyone seen anything about Thanksgiving Day plans at the various restaurants?
Thanks.

I agree w/ jillyb below...that is all I have seen too just 09 info...maybe by end of August when it's about 90 days out they may give some 2010 info... but yes it is a pain it's somewhat guess work

KIM unless you are the DDP the dining pricing should go up before and during Thanksgiving

I haven't seen anything other than 2009 information on allears.net.

We're going to Ohana for our Thanksgiving dinner then watch the Electrical Water parade and Wishes from the beach.

We are doing the same thing just different beach...we are dining at WCC then back to BLT/CR to watch the stuff! :thumbsup2

We had a Pirate Party on a local beach (everyone brings their boats out and decorates and dresses up). It was so much fun and we won Best Pirate Boat, which was very cool. Some of the guys were dressed in full pirate garb and it was about 100 degrees!
Hope everyone's having a good week.

that sounds so fun pirate:

nothing special here just regular point and shoot right now I have a Kodak (backward) EX optical zoom w/ 8.2 mp...love something more advance but it does for now and it was free from my BIL :thumbsup2

Well your question finally spurred me into action.

I have been wanting a new camera because ours tends to be a bit of a pain in the neck. (It has one of those flip out screens and always seems to take forever to start up.)

So.... I just bought a Canon PowerShot A1100. I went to digitalcamerainfo.com and compared several; it had an A rating and a price I could afford. Now I can't wait to use it! :woohoo:

2008 trip- I had a stinky Kodak Easy Share (I think I got a lemon, because it was terrible)

For Mothers Day this year I got a Canon SX 20 IS! BEST PRESENT EVER!!!
My pictures are so much better now, LOVE IT!

Just found out that 2 of my best friends and their families are going to Disney the same week we are! I just made reservations for 16 at TREX for all of us, WOW!

I have a Sony Cybershot. I had a small one, but outgrew the small screen and barely any zoom. So, about 2 1/2 years ago I upgraded to the bigger model. It has a nicer zoom and a big screen. It takes really nice pics. My only complaint is that it has to recharge the flash between pics and takes about 15 seconds, which can seem like forever when you've got people waiting behind you in a character line!

Would it be too much trouble to post a picture of this? I'm trying to figure out what to buy for our new camera. (We have a regular OLD camera bag, but I need something to take whale watching in 3 weeks & to take to WDW.) Thanks! :flower3:

Nice trip pics, for some reason I could not get the video to play :confused3

I always wanted to do a disney cruise since they first started ....one of these days maybe

Great pics! Was it hot, because it was blazing up here?
My family has been on 2 Disney cruises, a week long and a 3 night. They were amazing! Disneys private island is like heaven on earth. We are hoping to do it again next year for my 40th birthday!

Whale watching sounds cool!

No trouble at all . . . I took out the foam (it's black), so you could see the camera inside. It has lots of pockets that I use (inside & out), but I don't put anything except my camera in the main compartment. The bag is about 17 inches strap to strap. Mine is AmeriBag brand and is a nice quality lined nylon. It isn't my regular camera bag, but it is my WDW/vacation bag!!! Hope this helps. (I'll repeat what I said before though...toss the strap that comes with your camera a get a nice cushioned one-makes a TON of difference :) )
