Just found this thread and am excited to join the fun! :)

We are looking at arriving on the 12th - 15th at either Riverside or French Quarter. Then we will switch over to the Boardwalk Villa's for the 15th - 19th.

We are SOOOOO excited. :cool1: We have only ever gone in Sept so Nov is going to be totally new to us.

Hi, all. I've been reading the DIS threads like crazy to prepare for our first trip to Fort Wilderness Nov. 10-19. I visited MK, EP, and MGM once about 25 years ago and my partner saw MK once 34 years ago! We're both 60 but feel like kids thinking about all the fun stuff ahead. I hope our expectation of the typical low low crowds for that time of year pans out. We're not so good at standing in lines very long: bad backs, bad knees, bad ankles...but we'll be happy to suffer in Disney!:yay:

The first part of the week is fine, it is TG and after that gets really crowded. We won't wait over 20 minutes for a ride either, so plan your ADRs and FPs accordingly. TG we eat three TS' at Epcot and just hit rides that have low lines, you can find them, and wander through the countries.

Thanks for the info! :goodvibes

:welcome: to both of you!!

We did DDP last time we went, but that was in 2007 and then the TS meal included an appetizer (no longer for adults) so it was a lot of food and we felt spoiled! At that time, both our kids were under 10 and the childrens DDP was SO worth the money. Now they're both 10+, so we'd have to pay for 4 adults and I know my DS (10) will want to eat off the kids menu so that just makes it a deal-breaker. We're looking into whether we'd save money by buying one annual park pass (we save $100 as DVC members) and get a TIW card for $75. This gets us 20% off at lots of restaurants, including alcohol.

I started a spreadsheet, but I haven't figured out if it's worth it yet or not. :teacher:

The fun is in the planning!

What is a TIW card? We have annual passes. We are a family of 5 (3 adults) and TS really adds up. We have a 2BR BLT so we have a kitchen for breakfast and some dinners, but we like to do lunch in the parks, so if this TIW can help with that my DH would be happier. Is it good for CS or just TS?

I am here :goodvibes

Welcome! :goodvibes
I didnt even make the list....but i am still going...:lmao:

I'm not sure you ever listed your info. . . Either that or I somehow missed it! :upsidedow

we will be there the full week before thanksgiving....

Okay, just went back and found your first post. . . If you want to share your dates and resort I will get you added! :thumbsup2

Tables In Wonderland card, I think. . . And I think it gets you 20% off at WDW restaurants. . . But you'll have to wait for someone else for the details because I'm not too sure of them. . .

Alright guys, I need some advice from the Disney experts. We will arrive Sunday November 7th to CBR, probably around 10:30 a.m. (We're driving from Daytona with a rental car.) Currently I have only booked two day tickets and was planning Monday MK and Tuesday DHS. I was planning on Wednesday to hang out at the pool, go to Downtown Disney, have a nice dinner and relax our last day. Our flight leaves Thursday morning so we will not have any time on departure day. Should I upgrade our tickets to a three day and go to AK on Sunday afternoon? I really would like the boys to see AK but is it worth the extra $270 for basically a half day in the park? If I was to upgrade our tickets to three day, then I may as well do four day for the price. However, then I would really be trying to cram stuff in!

When I first started planning this trip, I thought that two days in an amusement park were plenty for the kids. Then I started reading these boards and have become addicted! I may have to start planning another trip for next year for a full week, four days is definately not enough time.

Any recommendations?

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - The first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party of 2010 will be held in the Magic Kingdom on November 12 and then on select nights throughout December. Official details on the special after-hours party, which requires a separate admission ticket, have not yet been released, but will be available soon at www.DisneyWorld.com/holidays .

Wow, that's a hard one. . . . I probably wouldn't pay $270 to spend a half day in AK. But then, AK isn't my favorite park either. . . I would pay it and try to squeeze Epcot into your plans.

Also, MK is known for being very busy on Monday's. So you might want to take that into consideration. I would definitely get 3 or 4 days tickets if you can. You don't have to spend the entire day each day at the parks, so you will still have time for a nice relaxing dinner, some resort time, and shopping at DTD.

Maybe check into CBR in the 7th. Unpack, swim, relax, make a dinner ADR, head to DTD for shopping that evening. Monday I would do Epcot (or AK if that's the park you choose), DHS on Tuesday, and MK on Wednesday.

We usually do the parks in half days. We either go right at opening and stay until about 3-4:00. Or we head to the park around 1-2:00 and stay until closing. That way we can enjoy the parks, but not feel like our vacation is rushed.

Good luck! :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing!

I wish something would come out about the Osborne Lights soon! :wizard:

I know I am a little bummed we leave on the 13th too, I hope they are wrong and it is earlier in the week, I have this bad feeling I am going to miss the Osborne Lights :sad1:

I do too. . .

*BUT -- last year the OL started the same exact night as the MVMCP did. . .

So, we may be able to squeeze it in there!!! :wizard:

We always miss MVMCP-- they usually have it the night before we arrive, and the night we leave.. LMAO.. we extended our trip 3 days one year to go -- but don't want dd to miss more school so i won't do that this time around.

Changed our dates , added a day now we will be there November 8-14 at AKV:banana:

Just my 2 cents: if you reeeeeaaalllly want to do AK...go on Sun after you get there. Have lunch then head over there....stay till park closing, that should give you enough time to at least get the feel for the park. Find a good thread with info on the AK and be planning what you think your kids would like to see the most and aim for that...even if it's just one or two things. That won't be too overwhelming.
Maybe do DHS on the Monday instead of MK...shelly is right...MK is busy on Mondays!
Tues at MK...get there at Rope Drop and do your favorite things first...getting FastPasses for the ones you will need.....If you want to do Epcot I would do that over DTD on Wed. You definitely wont be able to see it all...so YES!!! Plan a longer trip soon!!! But...this way you can hit the highlights and get a feel for how the parks are laid out.... You may want to get a good guidebook...like Birnbaums, or Passporter, or whatever is available at your bookstores....don't be unprepared!!! And know that you will walk A LOT!!! Have good walking shoes that are broken in! So...that's my advice!!! Have fun planning and keep us posted!!!!

That's a good idea to go to AK in the afternoon the day she arrives. . . An afternoon there is long enough to cover the main attractions.

Yes, I think we all learn the hard way to avoid MK on Monday's!! :rotfl:

Thank you guys so much for all the wonderful advice, exactly what I was looking for. I think what I may do is upgrade the tickets to four day tickets and plan them according to your advice on the busier days at each park. Also, if I do that I may consider switching to a value resort. The main reason that I picked CBR was because I figured we would be at the resort quite a bit and therefore I liked the zero entry pool for my little one and the waterslides for the older one. However, if we are not going to be at the resort much, there is no sense in spending the extra just for the pool. I also really liked the theming at CBR for myself but I think the boys might like the theming at the values better. Hmm, guess I still have time to decide. Thank you!

Hey fellow November travelers! We will be going 11/6 to 11/13 if you'd like to add us to your list. This will be our first Nov trip ever and I am super excited to see Christmas decorations. We usually go in Jan or Feb. We have 8 people total and will be staying at Windsor Hills.

I really want to check out MVMCP and I see someone posted the first party as 11/12. How hard would it be to get tickets for the first party? Should I buy them as soon as they become available? I imagine the first party is probably pretty crowded.

Sounds like November is a great time to go from reading all your posts with good weather, beautiful Christmas decorations, and low crowds. I am super excited especially since our last trip was in Feb 07! Way too long!!!
