Well, since I had to change dates just a couple weeks ago, :rolleyes1 I knew my ADRs would be limited. One can only hope! Are you going as a family? Or a couples trip? I think there should be a mid-November DIS meet! :grouphug:

Thanks, I hope it will be!

It's a roommate trip - 2009 was not a good year (2 major deaths in families - mom for me and little brother for another) for two of us so we decided 2010. So it's a 31 year old first timer, 28 year old guy who seems to careless (and BF of the 31 year old) and me who goes down as a 27 year old and comes home as a 28 year old!

It's also my first "no parent" trip :woohoo:

Hey, Momof2disneyboys -- can you please list my stay when you do your next update to post #2?

We are now staying Nov 20 - 24 at SSR. I just added another night to our trip (20th).

Thanks!

Thank you for all the prayers. We made it back home Tuesday from my mom's "Bucket List" trip. My mom is in the hospital with liver failure. She has jaundice & is experiencing severe bilirubin (spelling??) Oncologist said liver is so covered w/ cancer that prayer is the only help. She suspects it may have entered her brain. Her kidneys are "borderline" so she's not ordering MRI or CT scan for a couple of days.

My request is that people don't just pray for her healing. Please pray for God's Will to be done. If she has fulfilled her purpose on earth & God sees fit to take her, I pray He will quickly, so she'll be out of pain. I want her to stay, but not if she's suffering.

I'm so thankful for the trip we took & the memories we've made. Thank you to all of you for taking this journey with me. Life will never be the same once she's gone. She's lived with us since her diagnosis (the week before Thanksgiving 2009) and we've only grown closer through the months. She's my best friend & my stomach sickens at the thought of her leaving us. I will give God all the glory for taking her home because she has made such a difference in this world! There is NO telling how many people will experience eternity in Heaven because of her love for Jesus Christ.

God bless, Angela :cloud9:

What a beautiful tribute to your mother! I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I know how hard it is to see a parent suffer. I'm glad that you can take comfort in your mother's salvation.

Hello and Welcome to Our Group !

I had to laugh when I read your post since I do believe the fact of no beer in the MK is my DH biggest pet peeve

It is a surprise trip for DH, after all, not myself! ;). I cannot just plan everything I want to do . Men and their beer! My plan is taking advantage of F&W and letting try all the exotic brews that he has not had yet. Beer passport, anyone? :thumbsup2

100 days! :cool1::banana:

My DH will be right there behind yours in line at the F & W this year, he absolutely loved lunch at the Biergarten in Germainy last year because of the beer  so much so we are doing lunch there again this trip - if you hear a loud BURPPPPP turn around it will be DH :rotfl:

There actually is some type of beer passport! Check out the DISign threads for Natalies Stuff or Donatalie. She isn't designing anymore, but her 4shared files & photobucket site have some awesome things, including a beer passport or some along those lines.

I am at either 100 or 99 days! Yes, I am confused :goodvibes If I go by the My Vacation section on the WDW website, I am 100 days. If I go by SJS314's ticker, I am at 99 days since we arrived one day later. :confused3 What to do....what to do....

99 days!!! :cool1::woohoo::yay::woohoo::cool1:

That would be my DH as well! :scared1: It will be coming at us from all sides! :lmao:

Of course, from what I've read on these boards, they won't be the only ones. ;)

Go for the Double digits!:thumbsup2

Hey all...I know that sounds like an odd number to start our official countdown to our Disney trip in November....but we can't wait and want the fun to start...

my girls had made a huge paper chain over 100 links back in March and hung it up in our living room...we decided to save it and I made all these cool Mickey heads for each 10 days going and 1 for each of last 10 days till we go.

We now have 20 different themed nights and days coming up to help countdown to the big trip...this will be a great way to not only celebrate our upcoming trip...but spend some good quality family time as the school year begins and our lives get more busy :goodvibes

here is picture of the portion of the chain:

Have fun November travelers...it's August now and we are getting closer...;)

DH and DD16 went to the FW last year and loved it. We have two trips this year and I miss it. :sad2: Leave Sept 25th from the first one and arrive Nov. 18th for the second one. Our first trip we scheduled with free dining and my bday and can't change and same with Thanksgiving. Does anyone know if the stands open earlier or if they extend past the announced times.

Now that we are close to the 3 month exactly date...I am reworking some of my park days...will have to change a few ADRs around, but I don't think it'll be a biggie....mostly lunch and only one or two will have to be changed. What I wanted to ask you is this...do you tend to always go to certain parks on certain days of the week time after time? I do!! Most of the days I have planned are days that are green on TGMs website, and it's what we usually do...just curious if it was just me....for example:
we arrive on Saturdays, so we just hang around the resort and eat/swim whatever...
Sun-usually MK....we have done AK 1/2 day here to get it out of the way...
Mon-Epcot or DHS
Tues--Epcot or DHS
Wed...Mk again.WS dinner...if we can't get the castle
Thur is usually our slow day...swim, laundry, this is the night we usually do the MK parties...
Fri...Mk, DHS...whatever we reaaaally need to go back to...WS dinner
Sat...DTD...WS dinner
Sun..sometimes we just do a character breakfast and go to the airport...sometimes it's breakfast, a park & lunch, then the airport....
I have gotten all the TGM advice for this year...pretty much coincides with my usual plans with just a few good ideas with the partiesnand such...I like the #s for the UGs crowd calendar but they are always the exact opposite of TGM for recommended park days. Last year I did go by the UG guide for a couple of days and it was crowded...wouldn't have been if I had stuck with TGM I think! But...with crowds in general being lower this time of year, I am not going to be do-or-die.Just wondering what your stategy is with the expected low crowds and if you go by a certain park-per-day every year...seems like I am such a routine girl, i can't even break out for vacation!! LOL

mousescrapper -- I love the idea of doing Disney nights in preparation for upcoming trip. We do movie nights and my DD5 loves to pretend she is at WDW. but I can bump that up a level and plan some special nights.

What a great idea!:thumbsup2

With the exception of last year normally we head to MK the night we arrive, my DS and Ddil did go to MK last year but DH was too tired  so we stayed at the resort. Oh and the year we stayed at YC we headed over to Epcot for a short while when waiting for our room.

I have never used any of the touring plans so with us it is just hit or miss as far as the crowds go. The last time we went as a family(DH,myself and DS's) was in '97 and the only ADR's we ever made were for HDDR and Cinderella Castle as it use to be quite easy to get into restaurants as a walk up or make a ressie the morning/day of when you wanted to eat someplace.

Last year I call our Helter Skelter Trip since Ddil did all the planning
the only ressie we had was for HDDR and we could not get into anyplace without at least an hours wait, except Rainforest Cafe in AK, ESPN, Biergarten and Olivia's at OKW in fact the night we went to DTD we ended up at McDonalds:eek:

Times sure changed since our last visit in '98 and even when I visited in 2005 with a friend we were able to do walk in at places, but at least I am prepared this trip with ADR's and I have my fingers crossed we don't hit big crowds on the days we visit the parks.

My plans are:
Monday(arrival day) MK for MVMCP:santa:
Tues & Wed Epcot
Thurs DHS OL and Fantasmic (hopeing they add a second show)
Fri DTD and DAK
Sat MK and fly home :sad1:

We are not doing park hoppers so if I planned wrong we will have to tuff it out or head back to the resort and everyne can blame me :rotfl:
