#6. Don't start political threads.
#7. Don't post snarky replies in your friend's political threads.
I think we need to refer back to #1. all the other mommies are going to think we've gone off the deep end, you know that, right? .

DH and I mostly just joke about our political differences, although every so often we do get into a debate. I had to learn the difference between debating and arguing, which was hard at first. Now we know when to back off and change the topic.
Dh calls me a "pinko commie" and I call him a "facist pig" when we decide that the debate is over.
I'm almost done tagging everything, and I picked up the hangers today. I've decided to only save one box of baby clothing. We're 95% sure that we're done with one, so there just isn't a reason to save everything. Plus we have a super small house without much storage, so our rule is that it has to: 1) be hard to find; 2) cost more than $30; or 3) have strong sentimental value before it gets saved. Anyway, my goal is to make as much money at the sale as I spend on new stuff for Owen.
We'll see...
The only bummer is that only a couple friends are able to make it, thanks to a school parents meeting that got rescheduled for Friday night. Oh well. I'll just have to host another tea party later!

lol- we don't really talk about politics at work. It is assumed you are republican and if you are not, then you don't talk about it. And we are in the heart of TX too. I work for a Defense Contractor- all ex military and government type employees- we manufacture and market night vision, thermal imaging, combat identification and lasers for the military. So we are supporting the war by the very fact of our job. Heck, war is big business for us. Part of the reason I am moving on, things are slowing down a lot. So you can obviously see why most are republican. there have been some heated discussions though in the office. i stay far away though. i simply don't have time to read all the threads, I know i would get way too involved and i simply can't fit anything else in the schedule. lol......Michelle- back away from the political threads... It's no good.I swear, I have got to stop! And I need to stop watching the TV all the time. It's making me crazy!!!
At work we talk about politics, but everyone is respectful. That is seriously lacking in most political arenas (including the DIS). Honestly, sometimes I think it would be easier just not to care.
Meredith- Stay safe! I hope it takes it easy on you!
I just can't wait for the election to be over. I can't get away from it, there is political fighting everywhere.

It's really sad that a number of people that aren't really educated on the issues will be voting based on who know what reasons.Hi ladies! Just a quick update. I'm scheduled for an induction on Wednesday for our 3rd. I'm excited and a bit nervous. I hope I remember how to do everything.![]()
Hey Guys, WWYD?
We were playing outside and DS fell, hitting his forehead on the corner of our concrete walkway. Horrible sound, by the way ... He cried for about 10 minutes however it almost seemed as though he was crying more because I brought him inside because he was pointing at the door. He stopped crying and seemed fine, we finished our 'swimming' in our tub to clean off the mud. I dressed him and he was still crying on and off but I think it was because he wanted to stay outside or in the tub. He seemed a little wobbly when he was walking at first and steadied out after about 10 minutes. No vomiting or anything funny with his eyes they responded to light. I gave him some juice and light lunch keeping him up past nap time. I put him down just now and he acted normal ... it was about a hour and half after he fell. I'll check him in about 30 and again in an hour. He has a red mark in the middle of his forehead above his right eye about the size of a 1/2 dollar and the center is the size of a nickle and white.
I do not think he should go to the ER but WWYD? If he acts funny later tonight or throws up at all I will take him right in but right now I am just going to keep an eye on him ... would you do the same? He had a bump like this once before and it was gone within 12 hours ... He fell from a kneeling position and hit his forehead on ceramic tile.
So because of that history, I err on the side of caution every time and call a dr. DH is getting used to it.
So far I've never had to call in for Owen, but I know that whenever he conks his head hard I'll be calling the nurse help line. Just my own little freak-out zone...And I'll be the first to say that I'm completely neurotic about head injuries because my mom died a few days after a fall. She had been bleeding in her brain but we didn't know it.So because of that history, I err on the side of caution every time and call a dr. DH is getting used to it.

The doctor said there was nothing to culture since it wasn't an open sore since I hadn't scratched it, so he couldn't be positive, but it looked like it and he didn't want to take a chance of not treating it b/c it could get a lot worse fast.
So I had this really itchy bug bite on the back of my calf that appeared Tuesday morning when I woke up. I didn't scratch it, but it just kept getting bigger so Wednesday I finally went to an Urgent Care, and they think it might be mrsa! The doctor said there was nothing to culture since it wasn't an open sore since I hadn't scratched it, so he couldn't be positive, but it looked like it and he didn't want to take a chance of not treating it b/c it could get a lot worse fast.
So now I have 2 antibiotics and an antibiotic ointment that I have been taking since Wed. The spot has gotten smaller, but it has gotten uglier and looks really gross and is so itchy. It's all I can do to not scratch it! And I have to wear pants all the time to make sure it's covered and nobody else catches it, but it is 107 outside today! Ugh, this sucks!![]()
I have been crying off and on since it happened. I was bawling with Vaylie, I felt so awful and so stupid.
We are SOOOO lucky she landed just right. I feel like a complete and utter idiot.
I was so excited and now it's ruined.
hugs all around.
We really love castles and knights and dragons and history, and Usborne has tons of great books with those themes. I keep reminding myself that he's only a baby, so I shouldn't buy books for an 8 or 9 year old.
I'm also getting a lot of Christmas shopping done. We like to give books or legos to the nieces and nephews.
