And I am totally with you on the procrastination. I swear that I NEVER leave the house on time. Even if my start time is moved back, I still find a way to fill every second and run around like an idiot to leave. I've been that way since high school and will probably never change.

:rotfl: Me too!! And I could get up an hour earlier, and STILL be late. It doesn't matter what time I go to bed or what time I get up, I leave late every freakin' day.

We used to never have Alex wear shoes either, until he started walking, and now I can't stand the thought of him walking anywhere in public w/o shoes. And now he always wants to walk, so he knows that he has to put shoes on if he wants to go out.

We will tell him we're going to go bye-bye and he will say, "Bye-bye? Shoes?" And run and get his shoes so we can put them on him. And when he wants to go outside he will bring us his shoes so we know that he wants to go out.

Vaylie never wore shoes for the longest time. Just when she started walking. But she does the SAME thing. She'll say, "Bye-bye? Shoes?" or "Outside? Shoes?" They are so much alike!

Add me to the list for requesting a little girl next time! There is so much cute little girl clothes out there, and I can't wait to have a princess to play dress up with (as long as she'll let me anyway!). Luckily, DH has told me that he'll "let" me have a girl next time, so I'm holding him to that promise! :lmao:

I highly reccommend a little princess: I want another girl too!

Mrs. Disney Ron- I am sooooo thinking about getting a City Mini. Shame on you for coming on here and telling stroller addicts how great it is. :lmao:

:

I highly reccommend a little princess: I want another girl too!

me too! (if we have another). I think my DH would still say he wants a boy, but the little girl is going to have him wrapped around her finger, wait I think she already does.

Ash- my DH fully admits he wants another girl too! He loves having a Daddy's Girl. And when he needs a boy fix, we have a nephew! So he buys him Star Wars stuff and boy toys, and they play. DH is so good with kids.

Of course, neither of us would be upset if we have a boy, but I just envision two girls.

(plus, we already have all the girl stuff. Pink swing, pink-ish carseat, green room with pink polka dots... financially, it would be much easier on our pocketbooks to have a girl! :rotfl: )

I'd love a little girl next time but with all the boy stuff I have a boy would be more practical.

We bit the bullet last night and went out and bought another carseat. We got the Evenflo Triumph for DHs truck. I'm still holding out for Britax for my car but we had the 20% coupon so we went ahead and got his. we put Noah in it in the store to try and it and he just smiled. He looked so small in this once compared to the graco we have that he's outgrowing. Hopefully he'll be in this one awhile though since it goes to 50 lbs.

Hi all...sorry I have been MIA lately -- lots going on here!

Welcome Ms. DisneyRon -- looks like you have got our stroller addicts all buzzing about the city mini -- so come on girls - who is going to break first and get a new stroller?? Now you all have me thinking that we need a new stroller too.

Kelly - great about the driveway paving - and funny about your MIL wanting to rescue Brady from the fumes. Your town party sounded fun - sorry Brady did not win Little Mister!! He certainly should have - he is just so cute!

Becky -- glad the float trip was fun. Is Vaylie feeling ok now? You guys with all your shoes are so funny -- we are terrible - Izzy's feet don't fit good into shoes yet so I just let her go barefoot all the time - I should get her some stride rites - or mikey crocs - or pedipeds!

Jenny -- we have the Evenflow Triumph and like it very much - as does Izzy. THat is cute about Dill PIckles - I am going to have to try that.

Pollito -- so - what did you end up deciding to get your friends premimies? I can't imagine how small they must be at 2 and 3 lbs -- just amazing! What are their names?

Dmickey -- what nice nursery furniture -- I love it!

Ash -- hi! How are things going with your Dad?

Jen -- I am *sure* that nothing is wrong with Christopher but I would get the Early Intervention assessement -- its great and worth it and will put your mind at ease. You don't need a doctor referral for it or anything. See below re our EI thing.

Hi to everyone else -- sorry if I missed someone!

****************************************
So - two updates from me:

First the general update. I have been MIA these last few days because life has been crazy. On Saturday we had a huge cookout for over 50+ people. It started at 6pm so we spent Friday night and all day Sat getting ready for it. It was awesome! A great time was had by all. Then we spent Sunday cleaning up from that. Monday was Izzy's Early Intervention appt (more in a minute) and that afternoon my MIL fell down her stairs in her house and hurt her neck pretty bad so we were at the hospital on Mon night with her -- and then yesterday I was in Court all day for a trial 2 hours away from home - so I was gone all day...things are slowly getting back to normal here.

We are *so* incredibly psyched for our WDW trip which is in 23 days - omg - I just cannot wait!! And this weekend we are going to Hampton Beach with Izzy. We have been planning/trying to do that multiple times already this summer but have not made it so we are committed to going on Saturday.

**********************
Second update: Early Intervention assessement. I am glad we did it - it really put my mind at ease and the people were very nice. They put Izzy through a whole assortment of tests looking at fine motor skills, gross motor, cognitive, social, and some other stuff. They were evaluating her as a 10 month old because she will be 10 months tomorrow. On everything except gross motor and social she scored exactly at a 10 month age -- yeah!! On social she was "advanced" at 11-12 month age. My little girl is very outgoing and not afraid of stranges. She flirts with men - actually flirts. Looks at them - big smile, coyly looks down, little smile....its hysterical.

On gross motor she scored at 9 months -- so a little behind but not "developmentally delayed" - just taking her a bit longer than most to crawl, pull to standing, stand...but all and all they said she was perfect and fine and not to worry. She is crawling like a champ now and tries to pull herself up to standing and is getting close. And this weekend, she started to take steps when we were holding her arms...so she is almost there. They gave us some play exercises to do with her - for example - putting her toys on the 2 or 3 step so she has to crawl to the stairs and use the first step to kneel/pull out to reach the toys.

As far as her muscles - the eval showed she has low muscle tone - basically loose joints (kind of a double jointed/hyperflexibility thing). They said it is not a big deal, she is not in any pain and it won't interfere with anything like walking, running...it just makes the process of her starting these things a little slower. So we will work with her and it sounds like in a week or 2 she will be pulling up to standing!!

Incidentally - she was not accepted into the Early Intervention program - which is great news -- they only accept in kids that are showing a 25% delay and she is not!!! She is pretty much right on where she is supposed to be! That's my girl!!

********************

Ok -- that's all for now. I am working at home today so I need to go back to that. I might post my disney itinary later because I just finalized it and I am SOOOO excited...and of course would love feedback from you other disney experts!!!

Have a great day!
Nicole

Hi Nicole!! Great to hear that Izzy's EI assessment went so well!!! That is great! My girlfriends daughter has low-tone....you would never know....just a month or so late in crawling, etc... She is now a super-cute 4 year-old running around everywhere!!

Yes, yes! Post your Disney itinerary!!! I'll post mine too!!! We are soooooooo freakin excited....we leave in 10 days!!! Sooooooooo much to pack and put together for Brady. We are going to stop at a Walmart once we get there and get diapers, wipes, tub stuff, etc... so we don't have to pack it all.

Gotta run....babysitting my girlfriends 2 kids....and Brady.....yikes!! I am NOT ready for 3 kids!

Stacy- congrats on the new job- how exciting is that!!!

Kelly- i am totally neuerotic mom too. i know i need to relax sometimes and i am working on it- but it isn't easy. i know the behavior when i see it, but sometimes i can't help myself from doing it! just like Kate on that show like you said (the ice cream at WDW episode!). :rotfl: :rotfl2:

welcome home Beck- glad the float trip was fun, sorry about the burn though. Glad Vaylie is feeling better too.

Jennifer- welcome!!! :wizard: you are doing the podcast cruise? I am considering it with my mom and my cousin. I just discovered the podcast this year and love it. i've never done a cruise before at all, disney or other. DS is too young to really have a good time (he would be a year and a half) and i think it would be a good girls trip for me, mom and my cousin (she's like a second mom to me).

Jen- yeah for Christopher- that is awesome on his first steps!!!!

Ash- Will doesn't really wear shoes yet either. i've put some on him maybe 2-3 times. they take them off at day care anyhow, so i don't bother. I will probably get his first good pair at 11 months or a year (or sooner if he starts walking early for some reason). he is cruising the furniture pretty well and holding with only one hand.

Jenny- welcome back- too funny on the pickles- i'll have to try that with Will!

Welcome Mrs. Disney Ron!!!

Nicole- what great news on Izzy and the eval. I am sure she will be caught up on gross motor before you know it. and lol at her and her social skills- what a little flirt! ;)

Pollito- glad your friend delivered her triplets safely! i can't think of a good gift- i bet if you go online, you can find some cute triplet themed onsies or bibs? I got a ton of cute twin stuff for my friend online. on cribs- we have the simplicity ellis 4 in 1 convertible from target- it was under $400 and looks nice and works well for us.

******************************************************
So Will discovered the stairs. he knows they are there, and he used to just use the first step to try and stand up. But last night- I left him in the hallway area outside the guest bathroom while i ran to pee really fast. I come out just seconds later and that boy is on the third step and once again, i catch him mid-air as he is turning and falling. wooh- close one. So we really need to install a baby gate there now. I usually put him in his pak and play when i leave the room, but i didn't this time. bad mom!!! I could not believe he had climbed up that high. i had no clue he could do that. so time to go find a gate that might fit- we have a WIDE entry to the stairs and two banisters that are wood- so nothing to hold a pressure gate or to drill into. i am going to probably go to home depot and get some wood and make our own adjustment kit like they sell at BRUS- maybe we can drill into that wood and attach that piece to the banister? Isn't that how those kits work?

i am starting to get nervous about going out of town sept 13th too. i'll be gone 5 nights, 4 days. just DH and Will. i get nervous because DH simply doesn't 'follow my rules!'. last night, i went to pilates, i come home and Will is asleep in the clothes he wore all day long and a bib. big no no with me for choking hazard to sleep in his bib. he hadn't even changed him before he put him down. DH is not stupid and knows better. so i am nervous about leaving him. i think DH gets lazy or something. I also need to get a gate for upstairs- DH plays his stupid world of warcraft game (can we say addicted?) in our office upstairs and lets Will play up there (we have a ton of toys up there). he usually shuts the door, so Will can't wander out. But what if he forgets to shut the door and Will crawls out? so i need to put a gate at the top of the stairs too, so i feel more at ease. i am so paranoid! :rotfl: :confused3

I also asked DH to watch Will while i went to a wedding shower for my sister on sunday afternoon/evening at 4pm. i get home at 7:30. i asked DH to feed Will at 6pm. nope- he just gave him a bottle instead. I was like you have to feed the boy- he wants real food!!! he can't just go skipping his meals. so i am going to have to have a talk with DH before I go. He is a good dad, he just needs to stick to our schedule and feed the poor kid. I feed him breakfast and dinner, so DH isn't used to doing it. any tips on approaching the topic gently with DH- so i don't hurt his feelings or make him feel like he doesn't know how to take care of his son?

Okay...as Kelly said (rather nicely I might add) - we too are freakin excited about our Disney vacation...I have been planning and tweaking our itinerary non-stop. I love the planning as much as the actual vacation. And since many of you have trips planned soon...I know you know what I mean! So - here is our (scaled back) itinerary. My actual itinerary I am working on is done with a chart that has an entire 24 hour day broken up into 30 minute intervals and I have planned what we are doing all day (it even designates when we are sleeping) - yes - I am that crazy. My husband just rolls his eyes, laughs and lets me have my fun!! We are on the dining plan and are staying at Port Orleans French Quarter.

We dress up too - we are wearing the same costumes we wore 2 years ago – we go as salt and pepper! I am salt. I wear white shorts with a white tshirt that has a big S on the front and the word Salt on the back and it has glow in the dark glitter all over it (husband wears a black outfit) and we both have chef kind of hats that we spray painted gray and they have black holes drawn on the top of them and the brim of the hat on our forehead says “salt” (or pepper”). They are actually really cute. We got a ton of compliments last time and on two separate occasions people actually asked to take our picture – that made my night!!

Wed Sept 17th
●Up, shower, dress, breakfast at POFQ
●Off to AK
●Lunch at the Tusker house restaurant

●Up, shower, dress, breakfast in room
●we are going to a park today but not sure which one. It is the only day I don’t really have planned. We want to see which park we are aching for on the last day and then go there. I have a feeling it will be MGM (especially if we miss Indiana Jones on Monday) or maybe MK.
●Lunch whereever – don’t know where we will be but we might try to go to Pepper Market for lunch if we can.
●We have to leave Disney by about 3:00pm so we have time to drive to the airport and return our rental car and check our luggage.
●Our flight leaves at 5:45pm
●We should land in Providence about 8:45pm and then by the time we get the bags and get to our car it will be about 10pm and we have an hour ride home
●The only good thing about going home will be seeing Izzy – I am sure we are going to miss her terribly. But, we are really excited about spending our anniversary alone on our last together without kids trip to Disney ever!!

23 more days - - can’t wait!! I just bought the 2009 Unofficial Guide to Disney yesterday - I know everything that is in there - could write the book myself - but I still love to read it!

Okay - so there you have it - my psycho planned Disney itinerary. Dinners are set in stone cause I already made my ADR’s and therefore for the most part my park days can’t/won’t really change - but I am still tweaking things around a little.

-Nicole

Geez Michelle - how scary about Will on the staris -- you are like a Jedi catching him in mid-air so much! I am glad he is okay. Don't worry about DH and Will when you go away -- he will be fine - your DH will no doubt surprise you with his daddy jedi skills!

Kelly -- post your itineary!!! I love reading those. You have a nightmare packing job it sounds like. Although Izzy is not coming with us - I still need to get her packed at well since she is staying with my Dad on the weekend(s), my MIL for 2 nights and my mom for 2 nights - she needs her own suitcase too apparently!!

Jen - Christopher is the same age as Alexander, almost.
Alexander was born on 4.24. He also does not have much
in the way of words. At our 15 month appointment
our ped also said that he wants to hold off until
18 months. If at that point he doesn't have more words
then we will do a hearing test and EI. Alexander
is starting to babble A LOT more lately. He also repeats sounds
but not words. He says Mama for EVeryTHING but
that's one of his only consistant words. He does love the word
"FISH" and will say 'ish' when he sees one of if we
say it. Yesterday I got him to say "bue" for bob. (spongebob!)
That's all. I am not highly concerned about it because
he understands a lot. He will do multi step actions
such as "Get your baba and bring it to Daddy" He also understands
a lot of words. He waves when you say "bye bye", as well as responds
to a lot of other words. He JUST learned the sign for
eat this past weekend. He actually did it himself and I
picked up on it. I had to look it up but it's actually
the rest sign for it. He will sign when he is hungry and wants
a snack or when you say the word eat. As for the walking,
Christopher is a big kid. Alexander was also 28lbs 2oz at his 15 month
appointment but he's a little taller at 34 3/4 inches. I have always read
that bigger kids sometimes walk later because it's just a lot of weight
to carry. Besides, he is walking now and that's what counts. Obviously get an
EI done so that you feel better, i just wanted to give you my
two cents since the boys are so close in age.

I always wanted boys. I had beening saying until a month ago that
i wanted another boy. Now for some reason, I am hooked on a girl. Either way will
be awesome but it'd be cool to have one of each to start. i am trying to sell
some of DS's stuff because we don't have a ton of room but also because
then I have an excuse for new stuff, especially pink stuff. My best friend just had
her second daughter and our plan was to exchange stuff!! They are thinking
about a third!!

We are doing Organic Whole Milk for a while. Our doc usually doesn't go into
food too much because I tell him what i feed him and he is
happy with that so we dn't get into it!!!
I wonder if the ped says that because of the weight but Christopher needs it
for brain development.

Jenny - Britax should be having a sale in the next month or so. I think it was
mid-september last year. Albeebaby.com still has a marathon for $219. i bought it
for DS last year right before the sale!!!

Nicole - That's great about Izzy's EI appointment! How do you go about setting that up?
Reading that i am thinking it might not be a bad idea to set that up with
Alexander (and Christopher!) Just for the piece of mind and
some ideas on how I can help him.

Michelle - Hugs with going away. I can't imagine leaving DS alone
with DH for that long. The house and DS is a mess enough after
a morning out!!! DH has a problem putting pants/shorts back on after changing
a diaper!! Maybe your DH needs an exact list of what to do when. i know that
know that i wrote down DS's meals, exactly what food what amount what time, DH can do
it. We think it's so simple and second nature to us but it's not to them.
I agree with the gates for your peace of mind. I am so glad that we don't
have stairs here. When we were visiting my parents DS found them and it was
scary how fast he could make it up there ... argh. It's a full time job to keep
him away from the stairs!!

I am so jealous of the WDW trips. I think DS and I are going to go up in December
to meet my parents for a few days before flying up to MA for the
holidays. DH and i are planning a cruise for mid-October though and i am super excited about that.
My parents are taking one at the end of the October so my mom is flying down the week
before to watch DH. A REAL vacation ... can you imagine? I am so excited but it
will be hard to be away from DS for a week but it will be super
cool too!!!

Okay so these are my weak notes ... Seriously, sorry they are so wierd!!

I've had it, I'm done! :headache: Mo won't sleep! I tried CIO today and he cried for nearly 20 minutes....was that too long???? I'm finished. He falls asleep in my arms and when i put him down he wakes straight up!!!!!!!!!! He usually takes his morning nap even though it's only 30 minutes, but today nada!!! I don't know what to do, I use Mo's nap times to get things done....oh well. :guilty: :sad2:

Nicole - That's great about Izzy's EI appointment! How do you go about setting that up?
Reading that i am thinking it might not be a bad idea to set that up with

Hi

I guess Early Intervention Assessments are a federally mandated program and any child under 3 whose parents request an EI assessment MUST be given one. For us - we called the hospital in our city and asked for the Early Intervention Dept and they transferred us over and that was it. I would try that-- the hospital where you are will have one or will know where to find one. Also - you could check online but I would start with the hospital. I am *sure* they will have the program!

The program was 2 parts. Part 1 (last Friday) was a 1 hr meeting for them to explain the program and fill out paperwork with us - like what our concerns are, medical info on Izzy, info about feeding, and my pregnancy and stuff like that.

Part 2 (Monday) was the assessment. Both Part 1 and Part 2 were conducted at our house. The assessment is a bunch of "tests". Like for instance, having Izzy pull a peg from a hole, watching her play with blocks, container exercises (putting toys in and out of a container), watching her eat finger foods, problem solving things like hiding toys or toys on a string where they wnat you to pull the string, watching her crawl, standing her up and feeling her legs...things like that. They then score everything and tell you where she is (i.e. she is at a 9 month range, a 10 month range etc...). Then, they gave us some tips/exercises and things to do with her - like the stuff on the stairs and getting her a kids table that she can stand up at and play and how to position her feet underneath her to teach her how to pull up to standing.

I was really impressed with the whole program. They then give you a written report and tell you if you are accepted in the program (if accepted - you get weekly or monthly appts like physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech therapy). To be accepted - the child has to be 25% below their age. So Izzy - at 10 months- would have had to have scored lower than an 8 month old kid on her tests -- she did not - she was age appropriate with stuff. Alex - at 15 months would have to score lower than a 11-12 month old on his stuff - in other words - he would have to NOT be doing what an 11-12 month old is doing...

I am sure he is fine --- they really stressed with us that kids develop differently and some slower and some faster in different areas than others...but frankly - for peace of mind -- I would do it. I feel **SOOOO** much better having had it done. I don't have to wonder now and worry now that something is wrong -- I know nothing is wrong!

*********
Denise -- sorry to hear about Mo -- I don't think 20 minutes is too long - but I would not let him go 20 minutes straight -- at about 5 minutes I would go back to him and reassure him that all is well and rub his head or tummy and give him a pacifer or favorite toy or something and then leave again -- I would keep going in at 5-8 minute intervals until he either falls asleep or this goes on for 45+ minutes. Poor little guy -- you have to work on getting him in a sleep routine -- so he knows that the routine means sleep.

Good luck!!

-Nicole

Thank you all for the welcome to your thread!

We have an upcoming trip in just 26 days. I am excited, this will be our little guys 5th trip. We leave on JetBlue out of Boston on 9/16. We will be staying at a studio in SSR until 9/23. I cant wait to break in the City Mini.

My DS gives me trouble with sleeping too. He has always got up once a night, with an occasional night of full sleep being the exception. I have created a problem by rocking him to sleep still and can't seem to get him to sleep any other way.

My other issue with DS is he loves his bottles. I have tried several kinds of sippy cups but boy he is driving me crazy. I just want to break him of the bottle. Persistance right!!!

Have a great day everyone.
Ann

DMickey - thanks for the reassurance. I'm just a bit paranoid since my part time job is in a brain injury rehab program where we have a lot of autistic kids, pervasive developmental delays, and mental retardation. It makes me look for things to go wrong, you know?

DMickey - thanks for the reassurance. I'm just a bit paranoid since my part time job is in a brain injury rehab program where we have a lot of autistic kids, pervasive developmental delays, and mental retardation. It makes me look for things to go wrong, you know?

I totally understand. I have super paranoid about things like that. I try to look at all the things he does do rather than doesn't do. Our ped does an autism evaul at the 18 month appointment and he said that right now he sees NOTHING to indicate Alexander would be on the spectrum. Basically for his age right now he doesn't have the actual words but that's about it. It's so easy to get paranoid ... Good Luck.

The doctor wanted to hold off for a few more months on referring him to early intervention, but I may just go ahead and do it anyways. He still does not say any words, but babbles like crazy. He's only just started walking.

He also told me I didn't have to give him whole milk :confused3 I thought he was supposed to get whole milk until he was 2... I think he'll just keep gettting it anyways for now.

DS's cousin was told the same thing at his 15 month appointment. He wasn't really talking yet either, but has a few words now at 18 months. I think he has his appointment this week, so I will have to ask SIL what their doctor said. I know earlier they had been told that he was a couple months behind in some areas, but I think he has caught up on all of them. Just started walking at 16 months, but now he's running already!

I always heard to give whole milk until 2 for the development, wonder why your ped said it wasn't necessary? :confused3

Vaylie never wore shoes for the longest time. Just when she started walking. But she does the SAME thing. She'll say, "Bye-bye? Shoes?" or "Outside? Shoes?" They are so much alike!

So cute! :cutie:

(plus, we already have all the girl stuff. Pink swing, pink-ish carseat, green room with pink polka dots... financially, it would be much easier on our pocketbooks to have a girl! :rotfl: )

Oh, it would be so much easier financially to have another boy, though I tried to get a lot of gender neutral stuff, especially in the beginning, but I still really want a girl! I would be happy with another boy, though.

Pollito -- so - what did you end up deciding to get your friends premimies? I can't imagine how small they must be at 2 and 3 lbs -- just amazing! What are their names?

Early Intervention assessement. I am glad we did it - it really put my mind at ease and the people were very nice.

My little girl is very outgoing and not afraid of stranges. She flirts with men - actually flirts. Looks at them - big smile, coyly looks down, little smile....its hysterical.

I ended up getting some Swaddle Me blankets, b/c I remember loving those when DS was young for getting him to sleep through the night, and they had the cutest little ones in pink, blue, and green, so perfect for the triplets! I also got each of them a Carter's lovey b/c DS loves his so much and you can never have too many loveys!

The names are Lukas, Mason, and Kendall.

I'm glad to hear that Izzy's IE went so well. And so cute about the flirting - it's amazing how they start doing that so early! :cutie:

i get nervous because DH simply doesn't 'follow my rules!'. last night, i went to pilates, i come home and Will is asleep in the clothes he wore all day long and a bib. big no no with me for choking hazard to sleep in his bib. he hadn't even changed him before he put him down. DH is not stupid and knows better. so i am nervous about leaving him. i think DH gets lazy or something.

i asked DH to feed Will at 6pm. nope- he just gave him a bottle instead. I was like you have to feed the boy- he wants real food!!! he can't just go skipping his meals. any tips on approaching the topic gently with DH- so i don't hurt his feelings or make him feel like he doesn't know how to take care of his son?

Your DH must be related to mine! He has done all of those things! I came home from work one night (he gets home before me), and the baby was napping with his bib on, and it had flipped over and was laying over his face! :scared1: I was so horrified and pulled it off then check to make sure DS was still breathing! Sometimes I want to kill DH, b/c I am sure it is just laziness, not stupidity.

As for getting him to follow your rules, I sat down with DH one night when my travel was starting to increase and explained to him that it was very important to me to keep DS on his schedule as far as feeding/sleeping b/c I had worked very hard to get him on the schedule and didn't want him to get off it.

I pointed out how our son was in bed by 8 PM every night and slept through the night until around 7 each morning, without waking up, and only cried when he was hungry or hurt. I also pointed out how DH's nephew who is 2.5 weeks older than DS goes to bed after 11 PM, after crying for an hour, wakes up multiple times during the night crying, and won't nap during the day.

I realize that every baby is different, but I truly believe that a lot of it has to do with the schedule our baby was on versus the non-schedule their baby was on. It may work for some people to not use a schedule, but when you have 2 parents working full time outside the home, I don't think it's an option. I can't be getting up in the middle of the night and function well at work the next day.

So I informed DH that if he did not follow my schedule/rules (which I wrote down for him before I left), he would be the one getting up with DS again every night until he got back on schedule. He did not like that idea, so he agreed to follow my rules. I'm not going to say he never slipped up again, but I also made sure to call daily to remind him of the important things and check on how the baby was doing.

Good luck with your DH and I hope all goes well on your trip!

Sounds like you guys are going to have a great time! And your costumes sound so cute!

 Sorry you're having such a hard time with Mo's sleeping. I agree that I probably wouldn't let him cry 20 minutes straight, probably only 5-10 then check on him. But DS isn't a crier unless something is wrong. I hope Mo is sleeping better for you soon!

Michelle - Glad to hear that you can sympathize with me on being neurotic!! I think also it's because I am a super type-A personality as well as a control freak. ;) Oh - and my DH has done the EXACT same thing of putting Brady to bed with his clothes on and his bib?!?! This was a while ago....when he was about 7 months old. I was like seriously??? I think (most) men don't have good attention to detail. Of course when I confront him about things like that, his mentality is "well, he survived, didn't he?". :headache: I guess since he is really not the one in the daily-routine with Brady, things like feedings, etc... just don't come naturally!

Denise - Ok, I guess I am in the minority here, but I think it's fine that MO cried for 20 min straight. :confused3 When we did CIO with Brady, that first day he wailed for like 30 min. Is that bad that I let him? When we talked to our ped about doing CIO, she encouraged us to committ to doing it and NOT go in - that Brady would not understand the difference if we went in after 5 min or 30 min - all that it would mean to him was that he cried and someone came in to soothe him. I guess looking back it was kinda a severe method. But.....after the first few days....he never cried for more than 20min, and now goes to sleep (usually) without a peep. So, it worked for us!

Ann - do you live in/near the Boston area? We live in southern NH and are flying out of Manchester for our trip. That is exciting that you will get to try-out your City Mini!!! Brady also loves his bottles (he just turned 1). I think he likes them more because it's party of his "routine" before he goes for his naps and bed. My goal is to try and break him from them after we get back from Disney!

I'm one of the lucky ones. DH is so good with Noah. We both work full-time outside the home but DH has morning duty so he gets to wake him up, feed him, full lotion and dress before heading out the door. When Noah gets up early then DH is off schedule which makes him frustrated. LOL imagine that. anyway he understands the needs for a routine. We are a little more lax at night since Noah is such a good sleeper that we play it by ear when I pick him up daycare. Depending on his last nap he might take a little nap when I get him home and then he wants a bottle and we are working on food at dinner time. Then he plays for a little and he takes a bath, full lotion and pjs and then another bottle or part of one depending on what he ate earlier and off to bed he goes. He's usually in between 8 and 9 but its not a set time. He'll then sleep until the morning mostly occasionally I have to go in and put him back in the right sleeping position since he'll fuss when he gets his head stuck in the corner of the crib but he doesn't really wake up just fusses so I go in and move him and he's back asleep but thats not very often anymore.

Hmm ok I babbled. Sorry been a long day at work. Off to go get my little man now. Have a good evening everyone talk to you tomorrow.

Nicole - Your itinerary looks awesome!!! :thumbsup2 LOVE the color-coding....that is soooooooooo something I would do!!! ;) Congrats on your anniversary too!! DH and I celebrate our 7-year in October, but we splurged and got a joint gift of a new video camera early so we could bring it on our trip!! Love you ADR choices....we also love Ohana!! The best dinner down there!!

I am *a little* jealous that you and DH are going all by yourselves. We joked with my mom last week that it would be great if DH and I could have, like 5 days just the two of us, and then my parents could bring Brady down for the rest of the trip! Is that awful or what?! But, my parents will be with us the whole time, and I'm sure will take Brady and give us some days/nights of time on our own!

Ok - I am not as detailed as you...we actually haven't set-in-stone exactly which parks we will go to each day. We figure that we will let Brady kinda run the show - whatever he is up for, we will do. I am hoping he will sleep in his stroller during nap times, but we will see!! We do have a ton of ADR's - 18 to be exact! :scared1: (we are on the dining plan), so that does somewhat dictate where we will be.
