:flower3: Hi!
You can join now. We don't mind. Besides, looks like you're gonna have your hands full before long!

My hands are quite full. DD starts kindergarden on Wednesday:sad:. Where did the time go?:sad2: DS is in the middle of potty training (UGH), and we just moved him to his big boy bed. :yay: And #3, also a boy is due in a few weeks. My house is nuts!

Welcome Jennifer!! :welcome: Congrats on your new little one coming soon!

Thank you, we are very excited.

So, another friend of mine is pregnant with #2 and her DD just turned 2 at the end of July. Baby #2 is due in March.

I can't seem to make my DH understand that even once we get pregnant, it will still be 9 months before the kid actually gets here. He is terrified for me to get pregnant. And I understand- I honestly think he had it worse than I did when I was pregnant before, and it was SO hard on him. But, we both want another child, so at some point we have to have faith that all will be fine and just do it.

I think maybe after our Disney trip next year we'll start trying. Or maybe the following summer. 2010. Gosh, doesn't that seem like forever?!

I can't seem to remember that once we start TTC that it will be AT LEAST 10 months before the baby is here. I get baby fever when I see little ones but I know I am not ready. So far I have committed to going off the BC pills in December whenever they come due and then we will see what happens. That puts them at 2.5 at the earliest and who knows ... I'd be happy with 3-4 years apart.

Stacy - That sounds great about the new job! Better hours!

Kelly - That quad sounds great. Brady looks like he is having fun.
I wonder if DS would like it. Your town sounds so cute ..
I want to move somewhere like that. A town common .. I love
New England. I wonder if I can get DH to move back.

Becky - I am so glad that you went on the trip. I am
sure that your DH enjoyed the alone time with Valyie as well.
How is she feeling now? Alexander and I both got sick this
weekend ... ick. Still feel pretty lousey.

Jen - Yeah Christopher ... congrats on the walking.
Now watch out!! Alexander still walks like he is
drunk when he gets tired. He falls and trips all
over himself!!

***

I have to take notes on the notepad to be able to respond to everyone!! Stupid .. my brain doesn't even contain anything. So anyone have any new meal ideas? I didn't cook all weekend being sick and I know DH is desperate for a good meal. I have a ton of chicken, all kinds of chicken!!

Vaylie is doing MUCH better. DH took her to the Dr. on Friday and she had an ear infection (it was her first- I feel bad that I thought she was teething, but all the symptoms were the same, except that she usually got better within 3 or so days with teething, and this has lasted longer). So, we got her some amoxycilin, but she might be allergic... She broke out in a rash. My mom insists she had the rash before the medicine, but I don't think so- I didn't notice a rash all day Friday, and I assume the Dr. would have noticed a rash all over her body. Anyway, so we had to get Zithromax (a dif antibiotic), rash is gone, and she's up and playing.

DMickey- Do you like chicken and pineapple? Because I found a recipe for "Hawaiian Chicken Skillet" on FamilyFun.com, and it was a big hit here. And it's super easy. I served it with rice and hawaiian rolls.

Pollito- I'm glad that your friend's babies are doing well! I can't imagine having to leave them in the hospital. Maybe preemie clothes, and I'd send a nice journal- baby books don't have places to write all your thoughts and feelings. I have been keeping a journal for Vaylie. I write about being a mom, my honest thoughts and feelings about things, funny things she says or does. I plan to give it to her when she gets older- maybe when she's pregnant with her first baby.

Just got back from a little shopping. Bought Vaylie a new pair of Pedipeds- she's finally outgrowing the 6-12 month size. The 12-18 mo. are a little big, but not bad. I love that she gets so much wear out of them, though!

I think I'm going to have to get a couple more pairs.

What kinds of shoes do you guys buy? DO you like them? I need to get her a pair of sneakers for fall, and don't know what kidn to go with. SIL buys Stride Rite shoes for Dnephew and likes them...

Welcome Jennifer - can't wait to see pics when the new baby arrives!

I would find out if your friend has enough preemie clothes for the triplets. I was lucky and on a last minute shopping trip I asked my mom to pick up a few preemie outfits. Sam & Zoe wore them for at least a month. Plus she will want to dress them cute even in the NICU, especially that long! Clothes would be easy to ship too! BRU and even Wal-mart has cute preemie things.

Do you think they are allowed to wear clothes when they are that preemie? The pics her husband sent all show the kids wearing just a diaper, with all kinds of tubes attached to them all over...

12-18 months - Vaylie has tiny feet! Alex outgrew the 18-24 months by 1st birthday! But DH wears a size 12, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that I'm raising a baby bigfoot!

I did love the pedipeds, but now that his feet are so big and he is so active, I love stride rite. They take the time to measure your kid's feet and make recommendations, which is really nice.

Pollito - With regard to cribs, I have a Bonivita set and LOVE it. It's made very well, and is very sturdy. I think they sell cribs in a variety of price-ranges - maybe check out their website? I googled Jardine and Babi Italia, and the first things that pop-up are previous recalls for entrapment. :scared1: Not to say they are bad...but make sure you check the model when you purchase!! I'm sure many companies go through recalls....and I'm sure BRU wouldn't be selling one that isn't safe. I know a great, simple, very traditional crib is the Jenny Lind crib. I think they even sell one that converts now. With regard to your friends babies, maybe a couple of nice photo albums? I know we have soooooooo many pics of Brady, and we really liked the cute albums people got us to put all his pics in. And, I know it's kind of impersonal, but I really love getting BRU gift certificates. There is always something I need, and when I don't have to spend my own money....it's awesome! :thumbsup2 I also love giving monogrammed gifts - like blankets, little back-packs for traveling, or bath hooded-towls. Pottery Barn Kids has a ton of cute stuff you can get monogrammed. Then it just feels so special!!

Jennifer - Good luck with your oldest starting kindergarten! The way this last year has flown-by with Brady, I feel like he will be there in no-time! ;)

Becky - The summer of 2010 doesn't seem all that far away. DH and I decided that I would go off birth control in the spring of 2009. Now that just seems so close....yikes! We figured that even if I got pregnant right away, Brady would be almost 2 1/2 when #2 arrives. We always said we wanted them about 2-3 years apart. I just don't think I am ready to be pregnant again. But, maybe I will feel different in the spring. :confused3 That is great that Vaylie is feeling better. I would have thought teething with those symptoms too!!

DMickey - I do love our town....it definitely has lots of old-town charm, which is very fun and nice. As for cooking ideas.....no help from me, sorry! :upsidedow DH is the dinner-maker in this house! And we usually have some form of grilled chicken, which is fine for both of us. Kinda boring, huh?

*********************************************************

As for shoes, Brady has never owned a pair of Pedipeds! He wore little white booties from BRU until he was about 8 months old, and I went out and got him sandals from Stride Rite which he has worn all summer. We alternate now from his Stride Rite sandals, and his Mickey Crocs and Croc sandals. When we first got Brady measured at Stride Rite, we found out that not only does he have chubby cheeks, he has chubby feet too!! Extra, extra wide!!

Tomorrow our driveway is getting paved. Over the last few days they have ripped it up and laid gravel and dirt down. My mom wants to come get Brady because she thinks the fumes are going to poison him. :confused3 What do you guys think? I mean.....all the windows in the house are going to be closed. I know it smells bad, but I never even thought it would be super-bad for him??? Is it really going to smell that bad in the house to do damage?

When the twins were in the NICU, the said we could bring clothes from home. The just run the monitors through the snaps in front. Our NICU nurses had extra clothes that had been donated and had the twins dressed for us one day when we came up..this was before we brought clothes! There was a baby next to them that had more tubes than Sam & Zoe (she was on Oxygen) and she was dressed too!

Ellery doesn't really wear shoes yet. She's had a couple of pairs but she only gets to wear them like once and then whoa Big feet!

I'll probably end up going to Stride Rite. I know they have good shoes.

I just HATE the thought of paying $40-$50 for baby shoes!!! (I can justify $30 for the pedipeds because thay are so darn cute!- and they have the pediped flex now for older kids- thay have a rubber sole and are just as cute as all the originals). But, I mean, my sneakers are around that much and my feet have stopped growing.

Alas, I want her to have good supportive shoes. :sad2:

Every morning I procrastinate getting ready for work. Then I'm running around like an idiot trying to get out the door. You'd think I'd learn, but no.

So far Noah has had Stride Rites too. We've been lucky to get some good deals at the outlets. If you have an outlet near you then check it out. My mom got him some docksiders and some tennis shoes for less then $15 each. I was shoked. Now to get him to wear them more will be the trick. He only wears shoes now when we are dressing him up otherwise he's in bare feet.

Sorry I've been MIA its been a long couple of weeks. Work is crazy and then with missing time to go to the doctors I feel way behind. We did get Noahs 6 month visit in and he was at 50% for heigh at weight and 30% for head. LOL he has a little head but it looks very proportional to me. He was 27.25" and 17lbs 10oz. Hopefully he stays average and doesn't keep getting smaller but I'm hoping that with him now eating some real food he'll keep his weight up.

So far the one thing he loves is green beans. If we'd let him he would go through the whole jar of those. Oh and my mom has discovered he loves dill pickles. She gave him one thinking he would lick it and make a face and he sucked all the juice off and then wanted more. I love pickles but DH doesn't so its funny that he does too.

Hi Jenny  nice to see you.

Becky - Yes Chicken and pineapple would work for us. I found a new mexican chicken recipe that i am going to try tonight.

As for shoes go, we didn't get DS 'real' shoes until he was standing so sometime in January/February last year. We live in S. Florida so he never really needed shoes at all. He has a pair or two that he wore for pictures but that was it. Now all we buy is Stride Rite. He is currently a 7.5EW and the first pair we bought was 6.5EW. He is on his second pair of sandals and has one pair of sneakers that are 7.5EW that I am praying he doesn't outgrow before we go home for the holidays!! We never wear the sneakers down here. I bought him a pair of crocs once size 6/7 but his little feet were way too chubby for them. They fit fine length wise but on the top were smushing his feet. I want to try them now in the 8/9 but can't find the blue/lime green mickey ones locally right now. He needs something else to wear.

When we first went to get him shoes I was going to order him Pedipeds but wanted to try them on at the store so we went to a kids shoe store. Luckily we went because he already didn't fit into the biggest size of the baby ones at 9 months old. Thats when we bought him his first pair of 6.5EW!!

I can't go to the outlet ... we have been countless times and they NEVER have his size in anything other than the white booties!!!

We bought the Simmons Meridan furniture from BRU for DS. We got it in the pecan (darker) color just as it was discontinued. I had to run around to find all the pieces but managed to get them all. It's this same set just a little darker in color.

We really like it. DS has chewed the finish off of one side recently. I figure that once he gets out of the crib and we convert it to the bed we will refinish that section. I found a matching stain at homedepot last year and finished a few unfinished shelves and they are almost identical. It's been very sturdy, the dressers have not had one problem. It cleans very well ... I don't know, what can you say about baby furniture. We like it and I feel it can grow with him.

I am hoping that he is still in his crib when we have another one because I'd love to get a black set for a little girl!!! Putting my order in for a little girl now!

Hi Moms,

My name is Ann. I pop in and lurk on this thread occasionally. I am the proud first time DM of my 22 month old DS, Luke.

I just wanted to contribute my thoughts on our new "City Mini" I absolutely love it. What an incredible company Baby Jogger is. Everything we got was such high quality. The travel bag was much nicer than the others I have bought. I showed DH the MaClaren, Joovy and BJ. We both decided on the BJ City Mini. DH was so impressed by the compact fold, ease to push, assembly, and quality of frame and fabric. Our REI store did not have them in the store, so we took our chances and ordered site unseen. We both agree besides our Britax Marathon this was the best purchase made for DS.

I am part of the kids with large feet group too. DS's last shoes were 6.5 XW from Stride Rite. We bought him his first Crocs from REI this weekend. They just look so cute.

Have a great day, and give all those little cuties big hugs today!
Mrs. Disney Ron

I think I'm a slacker in the shoe department. Christopher hardly ever wears them, unless we're playing outside. He has some OshKosh sneakers that fit pretty well, and his Mickey Crocs. Sometime before fall, I'll have to take him to get some sneakers and boots.

Jen

Hi Ann  ... argh, I don't need to hear about how great the BJCM is. I WANT one!!! I just bought a Pliko P3 last week so I am on hold for now. I don't even use a stroller THAT much!!!

Jen - Don't worry you aren't a slacker. I can't get much DS to keep his shoes on for the life of me. I don't even put them on until we are getting out of the car at our destination! He hates them and will pull them off at the first chance he gets. He will even walk around with just one on if he can't get the other one off. That's why I like the sneakers but tying them is impossible, at least he can't get them off.

Hi Ann!!! Ohhhhhhh....I am very jealous of your City Mini. I have only heard great things about them! Post pics if you can!!!

DMickey - That furniture is really nice! Like you said....I think getting something that moves beyond the baby years is great. I would like to put my order in for a little girl as well.....who/where do we submit that list?! I need a little girl to take to the BBB!!!

Jenny - Good to hear from you again! Glad to hear that things are good, just busy! I am sure Noah will go through a little growth-spurt now that he is eating more solid food. I found that Brady went through that, but then leveled-off when he started racing around crawling and cruising. Too funny about the green beans and pickles....Brady won't go near either!

Becky - I hear ya about the cost of baby shoes. Especially since they last a few months tops. I am waiting until the cold weather to go back to get Brady some winter shoes from Stride Rite that will *hopefully* last him until next spring/summer. We will see! Oh....and I'm late going EVERYWHERE. When I used to work, I could never get out the door ontime. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like now with a 1 year old!!! Impossible!!! ;)

********************************************************

My MIL is coming over tonight to watch Brady while DH and I go to a tequila taste-testing at a local Mexican restaurant. I am looking forward to a quiet night out with some drinks and good Mexican food!!! :thumbsup2

Nice!!! What I would not give to have more babysitting options!! I am making Mexican for dinner tonight, does that count?

Thanks everyone for the advice on cribs and gifts. I am just the most indecisive person ever! But once I know what I want, I just can't wait to get it!

Pollito - With regard to cribs, I have a Bonivita set and LOVE it. It's made very well, and is very sturdy. I think they sell cribs in a variety of price-ranges - maybe check out their website? I know it smells bad, but I never even thought it would be super-bad for him??? Is it really going to smell that bad in the house to do damage?

Kelly - I forgot about Bonavita, since BRU doesn't sell it, and there isn't a store very close to us that does. But I read that it's the parent company of Babi Italia, so Baby Bargains rated them both as "A-".

I always wanted to have kids 2-3 years apart too, but I just can't imagine being pregnant again yet either. And DS will be 2 in February. Maybe I'll be able to think more about it after we move into our new house.

Mickey Crocs - I forgot those are one of DS's favorite pairs of shoes. He has the cute black/white/grey camo with red straps croclings - they are so cute and we get compliments on them everywhere! I think he's outgrowing them though, and am having trouble finding an 8/9 in the same pattern.

As for the driveway paving, I think that if you kept Brady in the house he should be fine. I don't think the smell could be bad enough to poison him from inside, but if it bothers you, you could take him to your mother's.

Thanks for the information! I just didn't want to be one of those people that gets something that's cute, but not usable, since with triplets and one income, I'm sure they don't have much extra money right now. Thanks!

I just HATE the thought of paying $40-$50 for baby shoes!!!

Every morning I procrastinate getting ready for work. Then I'm running around like an idiot trying to get out the door. You'd think I'd learn, but no.

We have a Stride Rite Outlet by us that has good deals, I think we got DS's sandals for $20-$30, which is fairly reasonable. They also sell them at some department stores (Dillards, Carson's, not sure where else), which could have some good sales.

And I am totally with you on the procrastination. I swear that I NEVER leave the house on time. Even if my start time is moved back, I still find a way to fill every second and run around like an idiot to leave. I've been that way since high school and will probably never change.

Alex always measured above average for height, weight started above, then moved below, but his head was always below. I joke that he has a tiny head, but it usually looks pretty proportional. I guess it's better than his cousin that always measured under 50% for height and weight, but in the 90s for head! :scared1: Can you imagine giving birth to that child!?!

I think I'm a slacker in the shoe department. Christopher hardly ever wears them, unless we're playing outside. He has some OshKosh sneakers that fit pretty well, and his Mickey Crocs. Sometime before fall, I'll have to take him to get some sneakers and boots.

We used to never have Alex wear shoes either, until he started walking, and now I can't stand the thought of him walking anywhere in public w/o shoes. And now he always wants to walk, so he knows that he has to put shoes on if he wants to go out.

We will tell him we're going to go bye-bye and he will say, "Bye-bye? Shoes?" And run and get his shoes so we can put them on him. And when he wants to go outside he will bring us his shoes so we know that he wants to go out.

We bought the Simmons Meridan furniture from BRU for DS. We really like it.

I am hoping that he is still in his crib when we have another one because I'd love to get a black set for a little girl!!! Putting my order in for a little girl now!

That looks like a nice crib. I didn't see any Simmons at our BRU. I am planning to stop at another one by my work today, since I have a 20% off coupon that expires next week, so I don't want to let it go to waste.

Add me to the list for requesting a little girl next time! There is so much cute little girl clothes out there, and I can't wait to have a princess to play dress up with (as long as she'll let me anyway!). Luckily, DH has told me that he'll "let" me have a girl next time, so I'm holding him to that promise! :lmao:

I'll be the one hoping for another boy. I don't know why, I've just always seen myself having only boys. Good thing no one in DH's family has had a girl in at least 5 generations now....

So Christopher had his doctor's appointment today. He's 33.5 inches (grew 2" since last time) and 28lbs 2 oz (lost 3 oz) Funny, he feels like he weighs WAY more than that!

The doctor wanted to hold off for a few more months on referring him to early intervention, but I may just go ahead and do it anyways. He still does not say any words, but babbles like crazy. He's only just started walking.

He also told me I didn't have to give him whole milk :confused3 I thought he was supposed to get whole milk until he was 2... I think he'll just keep gettting it anyways for now.
