So DH and I had to lower his crib a notch AND take the mobile down! Mo is just WAY too mobile now! I've got to get the living room baby proof. I need to buy those plug thingies TODAY! And here's why we had to lower the crib and remove the mobile:

QUESTION OF THE DAY What are your sleep routines/rituals at night with your little one?

I'm a day behind on these questions, so I'm out of order sorry.

Sleep routine....getting Mo to go to sleep! :rotfl2: He's usually in his activity center or moving around on the floor. We let him stay there til he gets fussy. Then we give him a 6oz bottle and hold him in our arms til he falls asleep. If the living room is too much of a distraction, we go to our bedroom and just lie on the bed til he's out cold. Takes a bit sometimes, but usually works all the time. :goodvibes Bedtime is anywhere between 7 and 8:30, nine times out of ten, he is USUALLY down no later than 7:30.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: Give us the stats on your little one....name, age, weight, height, what size clothes are they wearing...?

Name: Colin Michael Ernest (I know...it's a mouthful!)

Age: Almost 1...2 weeks shy of it

Weight: 21-22 lbs...been a while since we weighed him

Height: probably close to 31 now

Clothing Size: 6-12 or 12-18...I think there might be a few 6-9 in there too

Favourite Food: Yogurt and applesauce.

Favourite Toy: Ooooh....pop cans! He loves to take them out of the cardboard boxes and roll them on the floor!! :rotfl:

QUESTION OF THE DAY What are your sleep routines/rituals at night with your little one?

Yay Nicole! That's great that you had success with Izzy with the Nuby sippy cups. :thumbsup2

Sleep routines....hmmmm....our entire evening routine kinda goes like this:

5:15ish - dinner
6:15ish - bath
7:00ish - bottle
7:15 - bedtime

We used to have this really cute routine that I would sit and read him a book in the rocking chair in his room, and then put him down. Well....he wants no part of that now. He just wants to be on the go, even right before bed - so getting him to sit nicely in my lap while I read was turning into a circus show! It was actually getting him more hyped-up rather than relax him for bed. So, now we read at other times during the day. When I go to put him down, I literally lay out his sleep-sack, give him kisses, put him down, and leave. He is usually asleep within 5 min. It's the same for his 2 naps too.

Kelly, DS is the same way. We used to read a book every night before bed, but the last 2 months, he wants nothign to do with it. Current routine:

5:30ish - dinner
6:30ish - walk
7:30ish - bath
8:00ish - sleep

He DEMANDS his bath every night. As soon as we go upstairs, he runs into the bathroom, tries to climb in the tub, which is too high, then tries to pick up his baby tub and place it in the big tub. He is so excited about taking a bath! :rotfl: I'm betting that will change in a few years!

Once he is in his pj's, which is just a onesie right now, since it is so hot, he runs around a little more, says "night-night" to everyone, then goes to sleep. We also had to switch to night-time diapers, b/c he was just leaking through them, but only at night.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: Give us the stats on your little one....name, age, weight, height, what size clothes are they wearing...?

Name: Alexander Robert, aka Alex, Tamalito, Tamalero

Age: 16 months (I think he's one of the oldest babies on here!)

Weight: 23 lbs

Height: 33.5"

Clothing size: 18-24 months

Shoe size: 6.5 (Alex has big feet like Daddy!)

Favorite toy: One of those things where you push the beads around on different colored twisty loops, and his lovey, a blue Carters blanket bear that Daddy named Rupert after the teddy bear on "Family Guy". DS just calls him "bert" and takes him everywhere. I am a little worried about this.

Favorite book: "Where is baby's...." series loves all books, but especially these b/c he likes pulling up (and ripping off) the flap

Favorite food: Gerber puffs and yogurt drops and goldfish crackers, yogurt, beans, the boy likes to eat!

This is fun...I am liking the questions of the day because it gets everyone chatting and being chatty!

As an aside -- Denise -- so funny about Mo -- he really is getting mobile -- can he get himself into that position in the picture on his own? I am very impressed!!

Here are our stats:

Name: Isabella Florence a/k/a Izzy

Age: Just turned 8 months old

Height: 27 1/2 inches

Weight: about 20 lbs

Clothing: 12-18 months (some 24 months!)

Favorite Foods: She recently tried a meatball and that was love at first bite! For jar foods she likes Pears and Apples w/ Chicken. Also - she can't get enough of her Zweiback crackers!

Favorite Toy: She seems to get alot of enjoyment out of our 9 year old Bulldog...she squeals in excitement when she sees him and loves to pull on his ears. He (the bulldog) does not share her enthusiasm for the situation. He tolerates it at best but mainly looks at her and then looks at us as if to say "when is she going back from whereever she came from?"

Absolutely on his own! ::yes:: As a matter of fact, he's in that position right now. I put him down for a nap, because I just KNEW he was asleep in my arms. I leave him in the nursery and come back to..."BAA BAA BAA BAA BAA!" and him on his knees beating the blinds! :rotfl2:

He sounds just like Alex at that age, definitely a very "active" baby. Wait until he starts walking! :faint: You definitely have some challenging (and rewarding) days ahead!

Love the story about Mo! So cute!

Just had to share this photo of DH and Owen from Sunday...they were all dressed up and looked so handsome! Owen got all kinds of attention at church and everyone wanted to hold him, but DH wouldn't share. :)

QUESTION OF THE DAY: Give us the stats on your little one....name, age, weight, height, what size clothes are they wearing...?

Name: Vayla Katherine (aka Vaylie, Moo, Princess, Sugarbug, Cuddlebunny, Goose...:rotfl: There are more).

Age: She'll be 16 months old on June 28th- this Saturday! :faint: The time is going too fast.

Favorite Pastime: my girl LOVES to dance!!! :dance3:

I missed yesterday's question about nighttime routines, so I'll answer now.

V has always been pretty easy to put to bed.

Now, we do dinner around 6-7 (depending on my work schedule), bath around 8-8:15, then we play a bit more while she drinks from her "guck" (cup :rotfl: ) and maybe read a story (though generally she doesn't have much patience for Mommy to read to her, she'd rather do it herself), and then it's lights out and sweet dreams. Usually she lays in there and talks for a while. Sometimes she'll cry for about 5 minutes, but not too often. She's generally in bed between 8:30 and 9. Then, she'll sleep until about 8:30-9:30 in the morning. Bless her little heart. (my Mamaw - my great-grandma, always says that. it cracks me up because it doesn't matter what a kid is doing, she'll bless his/her little heart. i.e.-

Someone- "Look what Johnny's doing!?!

Mamaw- "Well, I'll be... He's trying to burn the house down, bless his little heart." ) :lmao:

But, I did get an easy-sleeping kid. Thank heavens. Because momma needs her sleep.

Hi, all! Care if I officially join this thread? Our 2nd child, a little boy, was born on June 18. We also have a 3 year old dd and we are most likely done having kids now and are in the process of enjoying the 2 we do have. We feel very blessed. I've never actually read this particular "new moms" thread. I was a member of the old one back when my dd was a baby but this is my first time really reading this one. I look forward to getting to know you all better.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: Give us the stats on your little one....name, age, weight, height, what size clothes are they wearing...?

Height: 19 and 3/4"

Clothes: newborn and a few 0-3 month outfits

Favorite foods: b00by milk ;)

Favorite activities: eating, sleeping, pooping and not much else at this point...although peeing all over Daddy during a diaper change was entertaining.

And just for the fun of it, here are my dd's stats as well.

Name: Kylie Noel

Age: 3 years old

Weight: 29.5 lbs at her 3 year check up a month ago

Height: 36 and 1/4" at 3 year check up

Favorite toys: her baby dolls, computer, and tricycle...and her new favorite seems to be her baby brother ;)

Welcome Tasha!! Congrats on Cohen's arrival (I love that name!) and your little ones are adorable!

I miss having a teeny tiny baby. Now I feel like I have a miniature cave woman. :lmao: She keeps it fun, though, that's for sure.

I've got a blog started, too, although it's kind of random right now. I wanted to be more disciplined about writing down my reflections on motherhood, so I started the blog in hopes it would help (and it sort of has, but I could still be more disciplined with it). It's at: http://bethanys-reflections.blogspot.com/

I love to blog! I have all the sites, MySpace, Facebook, and blogger, though I really only blog at blogger. Not just about Amanda Joy, but just day to day stuff (lots of pics). If anyone's interested, the link is: http://hollyjoys-happenings.blogspot.com/

Morning! Sounds like everyone is doing well!

Some of you already answered today's question of the day yesterday while doing your stats...if so -- cut and paste and answer again!!

QUESTION OF THE DAY What nicknames (real or "silly") do you have for your son/daughter?

We have a bunch of nicknames for Isabella: Izzy, Peanut, Squirmy Wormy, King Kong, Squishy Turtle, Mud Turtle, Miss I, Miss Muffett, Crabolicious (when she is being a pain!), Izzy B, Izzy Bear...

Wish I had so many nicknames!

Have a great day Moms!

And welcome Tasha+Scott -- Cohen is beautiful (as is your DD)!

-Nicole

Tasha+Scott, welcome! Cohen is adorable. Kylie looks very proud.

Most of the time we call Spencer Spenny, but he also goes by Spenny-man, Bird, Bird Man, Spensaur the Dinosaur (so they rhyme).

I need advice. Recently, Spencer HATES to be put down. He only wants to be held, even to sleep. We have tried CIO, but he goes insane. There is no calming him down. We are trying to take it slow and put him down for a short time, but it doesn't last long. Does anyone have any ideas on how we can stop this?

QUESTION OF THE DAY What nicknames (real or "silly") do you have for your son/daughter?

We call Amanda Joy a few things.. Amanda Panda, Manda Bear, AJ, Baby girl, and pickle (because she LOVES sucking on pickles! lol)
