Ummm....Mo rolled right off the bed this morning! :faint: :scared1:  He landed on his hands and knees cried for all of a couple of minutes and then was laughing at mommy! :hyper: One of the stuff animals was on the side where he fell and I think that helped. :cutie: I was getting dressed sitting on the other side of the bed and when I turned to check on him, he was rolling off! YIKES! He's a resilient little boy...DEFINITELY takes after daddy! ::yes::

Yikes! Glad he's okay, but how scarey! I constantly worry about that. Amanda can roll over (both ways), but doesn't do it that much. Don't think she's figured out that she's got a mode of transportation yet! LOL Give him extra hugs and kisses today :)

Location: Southern IL- about an hour from St. Louis
Job: Currently working at a bank. Also currently trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up!
Kids: So far just Vaylie. Eventually I'd like one more. I'm sure God will laugh and give me triplets. Before I got pregnant with Vaylie, I thought I wanted 4 kids. Now, I'm thinking two will be just fine.

What else... I love to laugh, I love to write, half of my face is numb because I just got a filling in my tooth, I have an extra vertebrae and I'm missing a rib, and bliss to me is a sunny afternoon outside with my husband (Mark) and Vaylie, blowing bubbles. I read too much, probably- and I'm currently in a self-help or parenting book phase.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: Introduce yourself with your "stats"....Name, Age, Where do you Live, what do you do, how many kids etc...

Name: Nicole

From: Central Massachusetts

Age: 34

Job: Attorney

Kids: Izzy and my 9 year old Bulldog

It is nice to see so many of us are "older" moms -- it took me a long time to have Izzy (lots of infertility garbage) and I have always been a little bit nervous about being too old to be a first time mom -- but it seems that I am in great company as many of us are in the same age bracket -- I feel so much better now!!!

I would love to blog -- that would be so fun! How did you bloggers get started -- is there a website that you use to run your blog out of. Share the details - it sounds fun!

I just got into the whole CVSing craze that the Budget Boarders are so found of...it is actually pretty cool and can save you a bunch of money. Lately I have been into couponing as well -- with everything being so expensive - this is a fun way to save a little money - I look at it as kind of a game. Plus - the more money I save couponing - the more money I have to either (a) buy Izzy hoards of adorable outfits or (b) go gambling (one of my favorite past-times)!

So -- next month - I am going on a short trip to Vegas (4 days) -- it will be my first time leaving Izzy alone overnight. I am going with my dad so my DH will still be there with Izzy but I am dreading being away from her for so long...as awesome as Vegas is - its going to be hard to leave her!!

Becky - we were posting at the same time so I just saw yours -- sorry about your tooth - the dentist stinks!!

Oh it's easy! You can set up a free account at www.blogger.com, and they pretty much walk you through it. I've blogged at several sites, and find blogger to be very easy ( especially for uploading pictures, which I tend to do a lot of!). Give it a try. Any questions, just ask :)

here's my blog again- i'll link you guys on mine sometime this weekend. i update it like once a week.

Stopped by your blog just a bit ago, and loved it! I'm going to add you to my links on mine, if it's okay! William looked like he had a blast at the pool! I need to get Amandas pics from the pool up!

I'm a little behind here since I was away from my computer for a while...

QUESTION OF THE DAY What nicknames (real or "silly") do you have for your son/daughter?

Let's see, we call him Owen Rhys a lot, and that's led to Owen Rhysy and "Owen Rhysitude" (as in "Owen Rhysitude, he's my favorite dude!"). There's also little dude, monkey toes (he's always grabbing things with his toes to get them up to his mouth! :rotfl: ), monkey butt, stinker butt, and wiggle butt. Mostly I call him bug and variations on that...bugaboo, cuddle bug, snuggle bug, snuggly-buggaly-boo, cutie bug, little bug, wiggle bug, wiggle worm, and then squirmer wormer. For some reason he cracks up when I say squirmer wormer, so I call him that a lot when he's fussy to make him smile.

I need advice. Recently, Spencer HATES to be put down. He only wants to be held, even to sleep. We have tried CIO, but he goes insane. There is no calming him down. We are trying to take it slow and put him down for a short time, but it doesn't last long. Does anyone have any ideas on how we can stop this?

Oh, I feel for you on this. Owen was like that for the first 4 months and it was driving me crazy! I slept with him in my arms at night because it was the only way he would sleep at all, and pretty much all I did all day every day was hold the stinker.

One thing that helped us was buying an Amby baby bed off craigslist. It's like a hammock for babies. Owen liked laying in there better than being flat on his back, so that made it easier for us to gradually get him used to sleeping without being held. We did a modified form of CIO where I would go in and soothe him after a few minutes, and then I'd leave, and the first few days I'd go in every 5-10 minutes, and then the next week I went in every 7-15 minutes, and then gradually lengthened the time between when I'd check on him. Eventually he started sleeping for 45 minutes at a time in the Amby bed during the day, and then one night when we'd put him down for a nap he just slept for 4 hours straight in the Amby, and ever since he's done all his naps and nighttime sleeping there.

I know it doesn't work for all kids, but that's what worked for us. I hope Spencer gives you a break soon! I always tried to remind myself that someday I would miss holding and snuggling Owen...even if right then it was driving me nuts!

Oh my gosh, Alex LOVES dancing! He is a little dancing fool! :dancer: He mostly bounces up and down and spins in circles. He also loves the free credit commercial with the guy dressed as a pirate! :pirate: :lmao:

Okay, so now I have that commerical jingle stuck in my head, along with an image of your little guy bopping around to it!! :rotfl2:

He has a bunch of nicknames: Boo (the first thing he said), Mistofer Christopher, goomba, and DH's favorite - Barky von Schnauzer (there was this wierd dog commercial, and Christopher would tun around every time the guy said that)

And Barky von Schnauzer just cracked me up!

do you girls mind if i link your blogs to mine- those that posted? it makes it easier for me to read yours and keep up on it! :thumbsup2

Link away! :)

Me too!!! Yuck!! I hate the dentist as well! My back right tooth is killing me....I'm so nervous that I will need a root canal, as there is already a filling there. :worried:

Yeah, my teeth were killing me so I finally went in, sure that I had gobs of cavities and would need a root canal, only to discover that I have receeding gums and that's why my teeth hurt all the time. Isn't it lovely that the first thing pregnancy affects is your TEETH?!! Who knew...but my dentist told me that most women have issues with their gums and teeth after having a baby. Lovely.

Ok, explain please. I haven't heard of this.

I was complaining the other day (not that it did me any good, as complaining usually produces no results), but anyway- I was complaining about the fact that I walked into the grocery store for a few items, and spent $90, and I have no idea how. And I really didn't have much to show for it. :headache:

OMG, I can totally relate to that! I used to be so good about making my list, cutting my coupons, and saving a bunch of mula when I went shopping. Lately, however, it seems as though it's all out of control! Ugh! Went to WalMart this morning to look for a float for the baby (which I found), and ended up spending way more than I had intended on my entire cart! Ugh.
