Hey Everyone!

Maggimus -- we have the Peg Perego P3 and the Peg Perego bucket seat. I :lovestruc my Peg! The bucket clips into it for when they're little, it's got an almost full recline, it folds about the size of a golf bag, is easy to lift in and out of the car and has a nice big sunshade. The Peg bucket is pricey, but I think well worth it. My only complaint is that it does get a little heavy once you add in a growing wee one! We also have the Zooper Twist and did one trip to Disney with it and switched back to the Peg for the next trip! Our son is 22 months old this week.

Christina -- *hugs* Been thinking about you! Take care of you and your DH!

Things are good here -- I've been following along at home, but haven't had time to post! We've been busy on the weekend and weekdays are crazy by the time we get home, have dinner, have some play time and get Colin into bed...and then it's practically time for me to get to bed so I can get up at 5 and start it all over again!

We got our trip booked for end of August/beginning of September -- we're staying at VWL for the first 4 nights and then 3 nights at POFQ with free dining! Right now, we're trying to decide if we're going to add the dining plan on for the first four nights or just pay cash.

Busy weekend coming up -- driving up to my sister's house on Saturday to celebrate Mother's day with our side of the family and then dinner on Sunday to celebrate with DH's side of the family. The following weekend is our May long weekend (Victoria Day), so I'm taking next Thursday off as well, since I'm already not working on Fridays, so I'll have a 5 day weekend! It's like a little mini-holiday.

Take care! I'll try and pop on tonight and say more individual "hi's"!

good grief- I didn't realize I had been MIA for a whole month!!! Facebook is sucking me into a black whole of internet time-drainage.

Maggie - I didn't read through what you are looking for in a stroller but wanted to throw in my thoughts. I had the Chico Cortina with the Keyfit carseat when Alexander was born. Then I got the Chicco Ct5 for a umbrella stroller but I HATED that. I got a Peg Perego Pliko P3 this past Fall and I really like it.

If I was doing it again with one baby I would get a Graco carseat (more colors to choose from and one of the most safe seats out there!!) and either a snap and go or the stroller I wanted because 90% of them will accept a carseat. Right now I want the Baby Jogger City Mini and I believe it has straps that will allow you to snap a Graco carseat into it. Or the Peg Perego P3, it's a great stroller. Full size advantages without the HUGE fullsize size.

Stroller advice: I HATED my Graco travel system- bulky, heavy, a total pain.

SO, If I had to do it over, I would buy a Graco Snugride carseat again (we loved that), and a stroller frame like Kelly and Pollito suggested. ANd I wouldn't care if the darn thing matched or not!! :rotfl: Now, I have a BOB stroller and I love, love LOVE it!!!! It folds SO easily, handles like a dream- it has shocks!, and it is all terrain, so it's great for walks, well, anywhere you can think of, really. However- the one caveat is that it is a little bulky- not the best for, say, the mall.

So the stroller I am currently looking at is a Baby Jogger City Mini- go to www. babyjogger.com and watch the video- the way this thing folds is amazing, and it's lightweight. Plus, you can buy an attachment to be able to use it with infant seats- that is perfect!

Heavy, bulky travel systems are a pain to push, a pain to get in/out of the car, and too big to fit through most mall stores easily.

ETA- my SIL has a Peg Perego PLiko P3 and loves it!

OK, here's what's happening in my world:

* Vaylie is talking SO much now!!! Like, full sentences. She is just hilarious. Except when she's throwing a screaming tantrum. Then, she's not so funny. But she's constantly asking "What are you talking about?" or "Whatchya doin'?" And everything she needs, she "really needs." As in: "I reallyneed help!" or "I reallyneed some juice!" It cracks me up.

* We're planning a last minute trip to Disneyland and I am totally freaking out about 1) flying with a toddler, and 2) making last minute travel arrangements- I am usually planning at least 10 months in advance and this is giving me extreme anxiety. We fly out on May 25th, get back June 1st, and will be in Disneyland for my 28th birthday on May 28th- how cool is that?

Hi everybody

DMickey - I'm glad he's doing better. The lifestyle changes are kind of overwhelming. The doctors will give you huge lists of things to change. Just try to change a few at a time. If you try to do everything at once, it will be really overwhelming, and you will have trouble following through.

Becky - welcome back ;) I read everyone's stuff on FB, so I assume I've kept up with everyone here too. Vaylie's sentences crack me up. Christopher is just starting with 1 or 2 words here and there. Right now, OUT is his particular favorite. Now that the weather is nice, he has no intention of being in the house any longer than necessary.

Re: strollers. I had the Graco Snugfit and the stroller that came with it. The carseat was OK, the stroller was huge. I found a Pliko P3 on Ebay, which was good, and bought a Maclaren Triumph that I love. As far as for when he was an infant, I really preferred the Kelty pack to carry him, or his sling. It was way easier for me than pushing a stroller. Doesn't really answer the question though :)

So the chicken pox should be just about over. He's scabby, and there aren't any new ones popping up anymore.

Jen

good grief- I didn't realize I had been MIA for a whole month!!! Facebook is sucking me into a black whole of internet time-drainage.

Facebook is the devil!!!! I have actually considered cancelling my account this week. I can' stay off of it. I get on it subconsciously and the next thing I know I'm taking some quiz like "what kind of fungus are you" or some crap that is complete nonsense anyway... or tending my virtual fields or planning virtual soriority parties....:confused3

There needs to be a 12 step program for facebook. Serious.

Hi ladies. Its been awhile since I've been on. I agree facebook is sucking me in. I'm completly addicted to Farm Town. I'm constantly plowing and planting. I need to get on the ball though since Noah is only in daycare for one more week and then its just me and him for the days until I find a job or things change. Still looking and have to go down to unemployment tomorrow. Not sure why I bothered to fill it out online if they want me to go to the office anyway. Just wasted a couple weeks for them to let me know. But anyway.

I'll try to catch up on everyones messages later but wanted to say hi. Noah is doing great and starting to say more and more words. We go for his 15 month appointment on Friday and I can't wait to see what all they say.

DMickey, glad to hear he is doing better. I agree that you should make the changes gradually. My FIL had a small stroke a few weeks ago and refuses to change his lifestyle at all (he won't even admit he had the stroke). :sad2:

Becky, yeah for Vaylie talking more!! I have to say I am SO jealous of you going to DL.

Maggimus, I have two Gracos (one is a Literider and I can't remember the other). The Literider was cheap and we didn't use it too much (although, it did make several trips to WDW) since I wore Spencer most of the time. If your DH is a different height than you, I highly recommend finding a stroller with adjustable handles.

Not too much going on. I had a tooth removed last week which was not fun (they couldn't get it numb). Spencer is trying so hard to talk, but no new words yet.

Becky, yeah for Vaylie talking more!! I have to say I am SO jealous of you going to DL.

Me too!! BUt then again I just really want to go on Vacation in general! I have to wait til July though when we go to Canada(annual trip) for Caleb's first trip!

Caleb has started clapping! He really wants to move but just can't yet! It won't be long before he is crawling after his cousin! He rolled allover the floor yesterday and ended up taking her toy...she got mad said "Caleb...thats my toy" and MIL was like did you like him better before when he couldn't move?? She said yes! LOL! Kind of like the other day he was playing with her hair and Blair goes "Caleb thats my hair! :rotfl:"
Dh was eating Sunday and moving his mouth open and closed and Caleb started imitating it (not a pretty sight) but I guess it won;t be the last bad thing for him to pick up. ;)

So last night I had a dream I was at Disneyland/WDW (not sure in the dream) and they had a new menu item - deep fried mashed potatoes shaped like Mickey heads with a cheese dipping sauce! :rotfl: I told DH it was like being pregnant again, since I was constantly craving potatoes throughout the pregnancy and would dream about potatoes all the time. Since we know I'm not preg, I told him it's a sign that I need a Disney vacation again. ;)

Owen is getting his 2nd haircut today, and I'm trying to decide how to have it done. DH keeps saying to go super short (like a buzz cut), but I just can't do it. I love Owen's hair color and I want it long enough to be able to see that. So I'm trying to decide if there's a way to compromise on it. Clearly I need to start educating myself on boys' hairstyles.

Oh, and Owen has developed a major fascination with his "boy parts" as Dh says. Thank heavens he can't get his pants off by himself yet because the child wants to spend as much quality time with his parts as he can get. He calls it his "pee-pee" (he came up with the word himself - not me!) and asks me for "pee-pee? please?" all the time. :lmao: Just cracks me up sometimes, although it's made diaper changes that much more complicated.

Potatoes. LOL. That's so funny. I craved potatoes too when I was pregnant. when I wasn't vomiting, anyway.

I would like to announce that I've only been on facebook twice today, and that was only to ask one of the people on my friend's list for a work reference and also to see what somebody said about a picture I posted. :p. One day I'll make it through facebook free.

I just applied for a job that I'm excited about. I hope that I will at least get an interview. I usually don't think much about it when I apply for a job because I never hear anything about it again, but I actually have experience in this! It's for a website moderator, and I've been moderating a group of etsy sellers and setting up meetings, blogging, ect for over a year now. So yay for experience, maybe I'll be considered this time. Fingers crossed!

Becky - I guess you have been gone awhile, but I didn't notice b/c of facebook either. I posted on your facebook page that I might be in LA one of the weeks you are in DL. I would like to schedule it for the first week of June since that's also MY b-day, and I could get in DL free! I'm sure my boss would understand me going out to LA for work then taking off the last day. :lmao: He's already been like 3 times this year, including his b-day, so he shouldn't complain!

Alex is the same way with the talking, just keeps going and going, like he's doing a soliloquey or something! And he's started copying song lyrics he hears too, so I guess I'll have to start watching what I'm listening to in the car when he's with me. He really enjoyed the Black Eyed Peas on Ellen yesterday! "Pump it! Louder! Louder! Louder!" :rotfl2:

And I agree with all of you on how addicting Facebook is - I try to go on for 5 minutes to check something, but then end up on for 2 hours! And the quizes are so stupid, but addicting!

Jenny - how weird that unemployment makes you fill out online and go to the office, seems like a waste of time to me :confused3

Amber - ouch on the tooth being pulled without being numbed!

Kara - yay on Caleb clapping and moving - he'll be crawling and walking before you know it!

Bethany - funny dream about potatos - tha's what I craved most when I was pg too, must be something about the comfort or blandness. I have the same problem as you with boy haircuts - I don't know how to style boy hair and don't really want to do a buzz cut and I can't stand the styles where the hair is so long and in the boy's face. Our kids are too cute to cover their faces! :goodvibes I cracked up at Owen begging to play with himself that is so funny! :rotfl: Alex calls it "tilin" which a spanish baby word, and he'll grab it whenever I change his diaper, and say "my tilin!" It's so gross when he goes to grab it after pooping since that stuff can get everywhere! :scared:

Ash - good luck with the job - it sounds like a good match for you! :thumbsup2

DMickey - I hope your DH is feeling better. My DH had a scare last year around this time. He came home all clammy and sweaty and couldn't even walk up the stairs. He collapsed in the hallway so I called 911 and they came to take him to the hospital. It turned out to be a panic attack but it was agonizing to see him acting that way. He's always trying to be strong and tough, Steel Magnolia?

Bethany, your potato dream was so funny! We went on a cruise a few years ago and there were these yummy looking pears. I asked the chef what they were and he said they were deep fried mashed potatoes! They were potato on the inside covered in breadcrumbs and had a clove on the top for the stem. Talk about yum! It was almost 1am when I downed about 3 of them.

JenNH - glad the chickens are almost out of your house!

Amber - I hated having teeth pulled, let alone not being numb first. Yikes!

Hi to everyone else I didn't have a chance to write to. I might be the only one not on Facebook! My sister is always trying to get me to join. I can see now that it's just a little addicting? :rotfl: No wonder she's up so late. Sometimes my friends will ask how my sister is doing, and I say I guess ok... why, have you talked to her recently? They say over facebook and I just laugh. I'm happy to have the DIS. It's enough to feed my online addiction.

Bethany, both of mine have a fasination with their parts, and Zoe more than Sam! They both know the proper names of their parts and will happily oint it out, as well as their butts! The "coolest" body part that they now know is their elbow....cracks me up when they point it out for some reason.

We have our first sentence in the house (and my guys dont have very many words yet). Zoe now says "not nice", Great huh? I started telling her to tell Sam "not nice" when he takes things from her, and now everything is "not nice!":rolleyes:

Well one more day of work then i leave on vacation!! yeah. We have a 7am flight on friday out of DFW to MCO. doing DTD and hanging out on Friday. MK on Saturday. Cruise on the wonder starts on sunday. We come back Thursday. finally got all packed, fish extender gifts made and have so much planned on the ship. Pete is doing a live podcast recording on board and there are martini tastings, DIS only Palo brunch, special disney historians and other special guests!!! should be fun and can't wait to meet Pete, i've been on this site for 10 years (you wouldn't know it by my post count), so it will be nice to meet the man that started this site! I am going to miss Will like mad though. I did 5 days away on business in march and that was hard, this is 6.5 days. I'll post a trip report when i get back.

Shootingstar- thanks for the potty info- who would have known Ikea has potties!? :)

Stacy- glad Caleb is doing well!! what great news.

Jen- hope Christopher is doing better.

Christina- hugs to you!!! Hope DH is feeling better. hopefully the hard part is over and now you can look forward to moving closer to your family and will have them nearby. family and friends always make life's challenges a bit more bearable. prayers for you guys!!!!!

On the Stroller question- i vote with Kelly- I have the Chicco keyfit system and liked it. However, at this age, the stroller is way too big and bulky for him. We still use it, but only because we haven't gotten around to buying another one. I think we are getting the Peg Perego like Kelly. we want something we cna fold up nicely and is lightweight, but functional for disney! Next time- i would do what Kelly said- use the chicco car seat wtih a snap and go and then a peg for the stroller once they are toddlers.

Becky- lol at Vaylie talking so much. i bet she is so cute! and yeah for the last minute trip. you guys will have a blast!

Bethany-lol at the fascination with his parts......Will does that too- mostly in the bath. i am sure it will get worse at some point, for now it is not too bad. boys!

Ash- good luck on the job-- i hope you get the interview and get the job!

Ash, good luck in getting the job! :wizard:

Bethany, Spencer loves "himself" too (although not enough to ask for it by name ). Changing his diaper is a challenge, because as soon as the diaper is off, his hands are there.

Kara, yeah for Caleb clapping!!!

Michelle, have a FANTASTIC time on your cruise!!!

That's awesome, Ash!!! Good luck, and I hope it goes really well! :cheer2:

Owen looks so much older with his new haircut, I can hardly stand it! He's darn cute of course ;), but where did my baby go? It's much shorter than when he had his first haircut (which was really just a trim). DH is pleased with it, but wow, Owen looks like a little boy instead of my baby.

I'm a little concerned with Owen's attachment to his binkies now. We've always just given them to him in his crib, stroller, or carseat, and I've been trying to cut back on stroller and carseat use. He also sometimes gets one if we're out and he's very tired, and now he knows that we must have one so he asks for his binky all the time when we're out. He's also started trying to get a binky out of his crib during the day, and since he regularly chucks his binkies out during naps and overnight, he can sometimes find one under his cribs or in his toys and will pop it in. He's starting to get really upset when we take the binky away from him, and now anytime he's sad he asks for a binky.

We wanted him to get attached to a blanket or stuffed animal, not a binky for his security thing. DMIL is already making comments about taking the binkies away. I don't know if I should start weaning him off them now, or letting it go a little longer. Owen certainly doesn't seem ready to give them up.
