Oh Denise...I am SOOOO sorry!

Can you get Cobra - how about some kind of free medical insurance like Medicaid?

I know you don't really want to talk about what happened and I understand your need for privacy -- but --- is it possible you have grounds for a lawsuit? If you want to share some of the info - then maybe we can help you too see if there is a basis to sue them - maybe there are discrimination grounds?

Can you collect unemployment? Even if your employer told you you can't - you should still apply right away - you never know and with the new stimulus bill I think the government is now picking up 65% of the cost of cobra.

We are here for you.

Vent away!

You did not harm your family - these things happen.

How come DH does not have insurance at his job? Can he get it at his job?

Can you find another server position at another restaurant that will offer you insurance?

Hugs,
Nicole

I've applied for Medicaid for me and Mo and the COBRA will arrive in about 3 weeks after Cigna gets notice I'm no longer employed through Ruby's.

No I cannot sue...I screwed up. I was upset about something I did and I flung a glass rack across the kitchen nearly hitting the young lady who walked in. Manager saw it and oh well. I was called yesterday to ask if I could wait for Charles to come home to watch Mo and then come down. I was like no, let's just do this now. Manager didn't want to fire me over the phone and he nearly broke down, but I asked him to. I wasn't driving 20 minutes to lose my job. Anyway, I had a write up before that said one more blow up and that was it....well...that was it.

Charles works for a very small print shop in which the owner cannot afford insurance and that's why the option isn't available there.

I've applied for unemployment but I'll probably just be denied because I WAS NOT fired for a reason no fault of my own. It was ALL my own. :sad2: :sad1: Oh well. And I talked to a really nice person in personnel today at Walmart when I was asking about they assessment test I failed. She told me not to go on interviews with Mo. I just wanted to pick up applications, that's all. My sitter isn't available for me and you know the situation otherwise. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO????!!!!! She said picking up an application with my son is different than being on an interview with him. I wouldn't do that to him or myself.

I can find another restaurant job instantly, I just need to be able to get out there and do it, but I have Mo and no sitter at the moment. I can ask hubby if he can home early one day, say around 3:30 and most restaurants do interviews at that time anyway.

This just all really sucks. I'm tired of living the lifestyle we do and I guess because of that, it cost me my job...nice.

 Oh Denise, I'm so sorry. Like Nicole said, these things happen, and there may be other options for getting help with insurance, unemployment, etc.

But hang in there, and vent away here if you need to. :grouphug:

Kelly, I'm glad Brady had a good nights sleep...hopefully he will get better instead of worse!

Here's a few pictures from our trip that were on my camera...
IMG_8210.jpg

Owen meeting Eeyore for the first time - he kept hugging and snuggling up to Eeyore. It was so cute!

IMG_8257.jpg

All set for our 2nd full day in the park, complete with his brand new Mickey ears (which he would only wear if we didn't put the elastic around his chin).

IMG_8262.jpg

A quick doze in the stroller...this was his toughest teething day of the trip.

Denise - Maybe if DH could come home early, you could go out and visit some restaurants. I know it always amazes me how much I can accomplish sans Brady. Also, I would talk with DH about your feelings and your lifestyle too. I know much of it may not be able to be changed, but having a good conversation about how YOU are feeling may provide some relief to you, and help DH know where you are coming from. I am sure he doesn't want you to be so unhappy about your life that it is starting to affect your job and your well-being. I know you talked about that place you found that would take Mo that would honor many of your food choices, etc.. Maybe you can bring him there some days? We are all here for you!!! :grouphug:

Bethany - LOVE the pics!! How cute is he hugging Eeyore???? :eeyore: Brady is the same way with his Mickey ears...no elastic = happiness. ;) He constantly pulls at the elastic until it usually snaps back on his face....which it noooooooooooo fun!! Here is a pic...enjoying the elastic!

That's awesome! I realized that I forgot to take pictures of Owen in his corner. :sad2: sigh. Oh well. But it wasn't as big as Brady's closet! I bet Owen would love to have a closet to himself...he's very into fort-like places these days...under the bed, under the tables, behind curtains, in closets.

He's also been a pill this morning. I think he misses the entertainment at Disneyland, and now he seems to want me to provide it for him! I keep telling him that Mama is not a Disney attraction, but he's not buying it.

Love the pics Meredith!!!! They are so cute!! Do you use real paint?? I've never attempted this with Brady because I know he will eat the paint. I was thinking about using food-coloring in pudding - maybe a bit safer in case he decides to mow-down. ;)

Kelly. I used Crayola washable fingerpaint. It says non-toxic so I used it. the color is kinda see through (not very pigmented like school paint is). They both kinda licked it once,,it must not taste good. We have also beentelling them "out of your mouth " when they chew on innapropriate things, so maybe that is helping. I dont generally have issues with chewing of art supplies except for crayons, and we have done play-doh, crayons, chalk, and now paint.

Meredith, it looks like the twins had a blast! I'm thinking about doing some finger painting with Owen, too, but I'm not sure if we should use real paint or something like pudding like Kelly suggested. Any other tips to pass on? The last time I did fingerpainting with any kids they were all 2 yrs. old and we did it outside and just hosed everything (and everyone) down afterwards. :)

Oh, and if you want an alternative if you are worried about eating the paint, you can mix some flower and water together and add food coloring.
No more tips to pas on except to use a smock, or get "NEKKID" and have fun. It really is easy to clean up if you have washcloth handy to do a pre wipe before you wash hands in the sink. Oh and HAVE FUN! Art is COOL!:goodvibes :hippie: :flower3:

Oh, and I think where Sam & Zoe have their table in the living room I am going to hang a bulletin board for their art!

Meredith -- they are so cute -- and they look so happy to be painting. We haven't tried finger painting yet - but I should - Izzy loves to color! I can't wait till the weather warms up so we can go outside to the driveway and play with chalk! Of course - who knows when that will be - we are getting another snow storm this weekend!

Kelly - LOVE the pix of Brady in the closet - adorable!

Bethany -- great pix of Owen! Eyeore is my favorite so I am glad to see he was a big hit with Owen. Glad you had such a good trip.

Hi Pollito and Kreilie.

Denise -- perhaps your DH can take a vacation day (or call in sick) and you can spend the entire day going around to submit applications w/o Mo...good luck. Sorry that happen. Is it worth calling your boss back (now that things have cooled down and the dust has settled) and apoligizing and basically pleading for your job back....you could suggest probation - I don't think it hurts to ask - the worst they can do is say no.

As for your lifestyle - if you are tired of living it -- then make a change. If you want a change and DH doesn't - sit down with him and have a rationale discussion. Just because he's the man does not mean he is in charge - marriage is a partnership. From what you have said on this thread before - your lifestyle seems to have alot of rules/restrictions -- if those rules and restrictions are causing you grief, stress, sadness, unhappiness....then change them -- don't do them anymore - you can still be religious without having to endure rules and restrictions. I really think that if your lifestyle is causing you that kind of stress - then its at least worth revisiting that lifestyle choice and maybe making a change - keep in mind its a choice -- its not a requirement -- you can opt to make a new choice anytime you want! (and by that I am not saying you should not beleive in God - I am just saying the way you express your belief/love of God can change/doesn't have to be so restrictive). Good luck.

Hi to all!

***********
DH and I are both sick - we both have Izzy's cold -- I guess that's what happens when she coughs right in your face for a week...we both feel like crap. I just want to go home and go to bed - hopefully she goes down early tonight so I can go down early. Ugh. We had plans with our friends this weekend who we haven't seen in about a year but had to cancel.

DH has a doctor's appt at 430 and his sane doc will probably give him an antibiotic while my insane doc won't so I don't even bother going to see her (a few years ago I had whopping cough - saw her 4 times within about 6 weeks complaining about how sick I was -- she kept saying it was just a cold and would go away -- a cold after 6 weeks I said...she finally agreed (after much begging and yelling) to do testing -- she called me back a few days after the test and said "I called in an antibiotic for you..." (she did not say why) - so I say -- "great- why - what's wrong with me?" and she tells me whopping cough (pertusis) and I hit the roof and started screaming at her and I then called the CDC who sent the public health nurse out to my house for info as to who I was in contact with because its *highly* contagious and the doctor got in trouble for ignorning my repeated symptoms and complaints, failing to prescribe the antibiotic and exposing hundreds of people to whopping cough (it is super contagious so every time I coughed at work, in the grocery store, at the movies, in a restaurant...anywhere -- I was exposing people to my illness which my idiot doc said was "just a cold") - ok - long and irrelvant vent over!

And no - I just can't switch docs because I hate ALL PCP docs and I figure they will all be the same...and my DH's great doc is closed to new patients. My DH thinks that female docs don't prescribe antibiotics freely and male docs do -- I think he might be right...

Okay crazy side vent over - back to your regular programming...

-Nicole

Nicole..get a mixed pack of construction paper and let Izzy use chalk on the dark colored paper (black, blue purple red, etc). Thats what we do..works like a charm!

Meredith -- what an awesome idea -- I never would have thought of that - that is a great tip -- I am definately going to do that! THANKS!!!

Wow ladies alot has been going on this week. Well Monday we had a great day and Noah went to school on Tuesday but I got a call around lunch that he had thrown up all over one of his teachers. That plus his runny poo caused them concern so we went to the doctor. They thought maybe a stomach bug but he didn't act sick and didn't throw up again at all on Wednesday while we had him home so back to school he went today. And guess what yeap I got the call about 10am that he had thrown up again. So I went and got him. We came home and he took a nap and then had some lunch and we played outside awhile. He came in for another short nap and then we ran errands and had Chik-fil-a for dinner. The kid is fine I have no idea what the deal with is at school. The nurse says he's too young to be making himself sick to get us to come and get him but I can't think of any other explanation. We're taking him back tomorrow so we'll see how it goes. Any ideas on what could be going on?

Love Brady's closet. We are going to MB in April and getting a 3 bedroom so that DS can have his own room. I think I might call and find out if the rooms have walk in closets then he can sleep in there! I think he might be too big to sleep in the pack n play in the first place.

Denise - I am so sorry. Can I ask you a question? Where you this committed to your lifestyle and beliefs before you married Charles? I wish you luck and if there is anything we can do to help, please let us know.

Jenny - No words of advice concerning Noah and his throwing-up spells. How did he do today?? Maybe he just has a strange bug?

Nicole - Sorry to hear that you and DH are sick. I now have a sore throat and runny nose...definitely from Brady. That story about your doc and the whooping cough is CRAZY! Good for you for contacting the proper authorities and reporting it. That is nuts!!!

So I found a great deal today! :thumbsup2 I was getting a couple of things at Walmart, and a display in the toddler boys section caught my eye. They had these cute t-shirts and shorts for 3.50 each!! That's so cheap!! I bought a bunch for play clothes for Brady this summer. I figure they are perfect for wearing outside in the sandbox, grass, etc... Here are a few pics of my find!

Kely, I have a few of those clothes for Spencer. You can't beat the price!

Denise, I am so sorry you were fired. I hope you are to find something soon. I agree that ou need to talk with your DH. While it is great you are devoted to your beliefs, if it is causing strain, you may need to reexamine the situation.

Meredith, love the pictures. It looks like they had a great time.

Bethany, cute pictures! I want to take Spencer to see Playhouse Disney, but I am not sure if he will like it (he freaked during FOTLK).

We went to AK yesterday. It was a beautiful day! Here are a couple of pictures:
