I know that. I am referring to the reason why you are asking. As in, do you have someone or something in particular in mind? Or what?

OMG! :faint: That was the best that you could muster? If yes, please do keep on trying....

He was not a vampire. Vlad lll Tepes was infamous for having his enemies impaled upon stakes. It was disgusting. I know because I was at one of his blood lusts when he unleashed his wrath upon those that he determined were against him. I managed to survive the horror and blood shed by hiding in one of the darkest corners of his castle. There was just enough light though, to where I was able to see from beginning to the end, what had transpired. See not only were the Turks greatly terrified by him, but so were many of his own people. He ruled with an iron fist, and a most bloody one at that.

The name Dracula was derived from Vlad's father, Vlad ll Dracul. For a son of a Dracul, would then be named Dracula (Surname) And the meaning of his name (Vlad ll Dracul) is Vlad the Dragon. Not vampire. He was not ever considered such, nor his son Vlad lll Tepes. In the Romanian language, Dracul also means devil, which sometimes resulted in incorrect translations for the name Dracula.
He (Vlad ll) was from the Royal House of Draculesti lineage. And was inducted into The Order of the Dragon in 1431. This is when Vlad ll received his surname of Dracul.

Bram Stoker (1847-1912) based his character Count Dracula (Published in 1897) upon Vlad lll Tepes, because of Vlad's appetite for blood lust filled murders and mayhem.

For that, you are referring to folklore. The house of Vlad, as I like to call it, is not folk lore nor fable. It is fact.

And if one is so inclined to do so, a little thing called research can yield many a wonderment. Which by the way, I love to do. I research everything from crickets to Astronomy. With a multitude of subjects in between.

Why don't you do some research, being the point of my previous post.

If I was to answer as throughly as possible, my post would look like a novel.

So... what's this thread? I see some familiar posters in here. Could someone pretty please tell me what it's about. :)

Sadly I haven't ridden in over a week. I've been at work (care giver for my grandfather), then house sitting, now I'm back at work.

Just wondering how close to DL are you?

14 hours. Which may be closer than Gisele when she took Amtrak.
