Well, I should've asked my DH that in the beginning. I would've weeded him out, but I guess I was blinded by love. :3dglasses He's not the camper and boy do I hear about it too. He'd much rather be in a deluxe resort or a cabin.

Fall camping with F&W festival sounds suberb, but I'll be in Hawaii next year in September. Maybe spring then? :confused3 I'm all for split stays. ::yes:: Hmmm - I wonder if hubby will let my DM and DMIL travel with me so I can bring my camper? I've got time to work on him. :stir: What would I do with my camper while at the spa/deluxe resort? I don't think they'll valet park it. What a site that'd be - pick up truck with camper on the back pulling into AKL being concierge guests on top of that. I could just hear the buzz on the boards for doing something like that because you know there will be a Diser to witness it. :rotfl:

Well, I'm locked and loaded. I'm leaving straight from work after lunch. :woohoo:

I can see the action on the boards. :lmao:

You have a wonderful time.

I just have to share a little story. My DD was pregnant with her little one, and her in-laws invited them on a camping trip. DD talked her DH into the trip, and she was ready. :thumbsup2 They all had campers, so she thought that they were going to share space. :goodvibes Oh no! a tent! Sleeping bags! Nothin else. :confused3 But the rain. And the bugs. No room for them in any camper. Well they were on their way home that night, and I can tell you that this is the way the entire relationship has gone. :sad1:

Thanks for the nice compliments, everyone!

I'm :rotfl2: about the camping! How did the topic of camping make it to the board dedicated to concierge? :rotfl:

DH convinced me to tent camp when we were dating, and I did it, but let me tell you, I have NO desire to do it again. Give me a nice hot shower and a comfy bed any day. Along with valet and the personal service you can only get from concierge...ahhhhhh, that's the life. :cloud9:

DH, meanwhile, is convinced that our next big purchase will be an RV. :rolleyes1 MAYBE...if it's one of those $75,000 jobs with all the comforts of home. :teeth:

Nancy...your poor DD! Holy cow, I can't imagine tent camping anymore, much LESS doing it while pregnant!

Oh, Nancy, shame on them for not giving one with child a better place to sleep. I completely understand how she would get up and leave. Still - shame on them! :sad2: That's not being the best host/hostess IMO. She'll have to try it again - maybe with us. :goodvibes

Steph - Yep, there are some rolling luxury homes out there. There are also RV parks for the full service type folks complete with room service. :teeth: Just flip on the Travel Channel and you'll see what I'm talking about when one of those shows air. If you get one, let me know and I'll be down in a flash. :thumbsup2 Concierge and camping go hand in hand don't they? :confused3 :lmao: What? They don't have room service and such at FW? ;)

***Holding hand up sheepishly!*** I think it was related to my introduction and Bonnie going camping this weekend... YIKES! MY BAD? :sad2:

BUT HEY...! We can work this out! I'm thinking we pitch a GREAT BIG CONCIERGE LOUNGE TENT at FW, OK? We bring in portable A/C, put some reclining camp cots for the lounge chairs... cater in some sushi. Debbie's bringing the wine et VOILA! :woohoo:

Quickly running back to topic! ;) Gee, I could really use a massage right now! :goodvibes

VAGal: I'm sorry to say that the camping trip was an early sign of the way that they were going to be treated. I don't get it, but I guess that not all people love all of their children equally. :confused3 Oh well, I don't have to share holidays, although I would like it if they wanted to see the little one, but they said that they are waiting until she is "older". I think DD would like the girls version of camping, complete with AC. :rotfl:

Some friends of our have one of those rolling homes, and it is really not like the campers of old. My DH almost went into a coma after he was told how much it cost, I told him they don't lose their value, but he couldn't hear because of the shock.

I'm glued to our house until the end of October. My DH will be stressed until all of the tobacco is down and stripped and packed. I do not understand how he survived when I was working because now he has forgotten how to use the phone to schedule help or order supplies. I am beginning to think I have spoiled him.

Y’all are too funny! :teeth:

As for camping, I don’t think my DH would be up for it. He would probably pretend to be up for it, then pine for a deluxe resort the whole time. He lives in denial of his love of concierge. He always thinks that we don’t need to do it, then he’s the one who loves it the absolute most. He can’t get over himself when he pays with the gold key card. :teeth: When he stayed at CBR before our wedding, he drove up and wondered where the valet was. Luckily one of the CMs directed him toward self-parking. :teeth:

Disbug hit my reason right away... I'm afraid of gators! UF ones, too!

I married a hunter/fisher/camping kinda person. I knew this when I married him. I've camped plenty and prefered camping with a trailer and electricity! You know... you don't have to do jiffy pop if you have a microwave! LOL

If this becomes a plan and I can make it, I'll be in for camping with the girls! Just please keep the gators away!

Just goes to show you what true Renaissance women we really are!

Your family is lovely, BTW, Steph. Thanks for sharing your pix.

I'm in for Lizards in the Wilderness - that's one WDW trip I know DH won't be yearning to join me on. CL at WL instead of Poly is probably about as close to roughing it as he's willing to go!

Nancy how awful for your DD; not only for her physically discomfort, but for the unwelcoming way she was treated.

Good to see you, lovesdumbo! I'm glad your DH has uncovered what was wrong and is being treated. I hope that makes the next WDW trip much more enjoyable for him.

I'm baaaaccckkk! We all had a great time. BIL & SIL came in for the day to see the place and partake in the birthday festivities. I got the kids bandanas to match the mood. Burgers & Dogs were on the menu. Simple, but you just can't go wrong with them.

We've booked the same site again in June before I head out for our cruise to go camping again. :rotfl2: BIL & SIL should be joining us for that weekend. :Pinkbounc

DS caught his first bass. We've been taking him fishing since he was 2 years old but has finally graduated from Brim to Bass. He was so excited. So this proves he's got a little of his mama in him too. :thumbsup2 :teeth:

DS loved the POC cake and it tasted good, too. I'll post more pictures later. I thought the colors on the cake from the pic would turn out more vivid, but it didn't. That's alright though because as long as DS is happy so am I.

I didn't see any creepy crawlies while we were out, but I ran over snake on my way home. I tried to dodge it but it slithered right into my tire. :sad2:

I promise Debbie - you have nothing to worry about. Be at one with nature, embrace it, love it!

I wonder what DH would do if I booked a cabin at FW for our pre-cruise stay instead of AKL. :stir: I'm so bad! :rolleyes2

Nice looking bass. He must be so proud :thumbsup2 you too Bonnie. I think teaching our children to love and respect nature is so important. Looks like you had beautiful weather too. I am so happy and more then a bit envious. :rolleyes1 I love to fish. Really need to get some of that in this year.

I am so happy for you that you all had such a great time together. That is "what it is all about, being together".

I told Tim about a possible Lizard Lounge camping get together. He thought is sounded and I quote "FANTASTIC" He is a real, outdoors person. He taught me how to build a fire without a match or lighter. In addition, how to clean my own fish and stake a tent. He also taught me to shoot both handguns and rifles. I do not hunt but I do enjoy target practice.

Sound like we have a good group to work with on a camping/concierge stay meet.
Have a good Monday afternoon everyone!

Great looking fish! He did very well!

Nature doesn't scare me, I'm forced head to head with it every day. It is reptiles with TEETH that scare me! I'm telling you I think the gators CAN get a zipper down on a tent. If I cna't tent in Michigan w/o ac, how will I do it in Florida? This just seems wrong... all wrong....*shaking head* LOL DH just bought a new baby, 30 ft camper/trailer for a second "guest house" up north. FIrst thing I noticed was the AC and heat controls. It works for me! (second was the microwave!LOL)

Angel - I can stake tents and shoot shotguns, but I've never ventured quite that far. You da woman! :teeth: Aaahhh - we have some interest. Awesome! :thumbsup2

Debbie - :rotfl2: I promise you that gators can't open tents. Oh, wait - I've never camped near gators. I could be wrong. :stir: Now I do have A/C, heat, microwave and oven with stove range and outside RVQ (little gas grill to go on the side) and they are very nice amenities. You can do Florida in camper with A/C. You got a 30 footer - Wowsa! Those are swweeeeeet. I'm still learning all about towing so I figure later on after I have more experience under my belt. I'm not bad at backing, but I don't know if I could back a big boy like that. Of course, the places I go usually have pull throughs thus eliminating that pesky requirement. ;)

We just finished our 2nd round of cake for DS's b-day. We typically do his themed party, but if it doesn't fall exactly on his birthday we do a 2nd cake just for immediate family.

Putting out the Bailey's and left over b-day cake. Enjoy!

Mmm Da Cak is goot... mouth full, sorry. Thank you Bonnie the cake is wonderful, I'll have to hold off the Baileys until after 4pm Western time. Gotta work to pay the bills. :confused3 Why couldn't I have been born rich instead of talented. :rotfl2:

I am trying to tie up all of our ADR's for our Christmas trip. Just too darn busy at work to really spend some time getting things arranged.

I am trying to figure out the Candle Light processional and when to go and where to have dinner. Do we have dinner first or after? I want us to attend on an evening with a good star. Does anyone have any suggestions for dinner and timing?

Who is going to WDW for the Thanksgiving/Christmas Holidays? :santa:

Got to scoot, I am getting short on days before my ADR's need to be in. :moped:

Sending prayers and pixie dust to all in need. You all are in my thoughts everyday. :grouphug:

I agree with Angel on the cake, Bonnie! It IS good! And here I have been trying to peel off about 5 lbs before the Lounge Lizard meet this July! YOU BAD!

Well, Angel, I know you don't know us, but we're going for both Thanksgiving and Christmas! lol! Actually, the Fall trip is always for Food and Wine Fest and the early December one is for Christmas! If I were you, I would go to the Candlelight Processional first and then dinner. Every time we have tried to do it the other way.... we were running to reach the American Pavilion to get our seats before they were given to the other 1000 people waiting in line! :goodvibes For some reason, even with ADR's we had to wait 30-40 minutes for our table. That was our experience.

I think all of the narrators are wonderful! Everyone brings their own personality to the occasion. I don't think you can go wrong there!

Thank you Disbug, Wow cool your going to be there too. Maybe we can meet?
We have gone the last two years for the Food and Wine Festival. We love that time of year and the festival well...we are rather fond of our wine. :drinking1 This year we thought about going to visit our one daughter and her family for Thanksgiving then heading down to WDW to all the Christmas decorations and activities. :goodvibes I am so Excited!!

Thank you for the suggestion on the CLP. I think we will do as you suggested and eat after. We would like to have dinner that night at Le Cellier'. I have high hopes it will be a magical night. Our first Christmas, first CLP and first dinner at Le Cellier'. :cloud9:

I wanted all the Ladies of the Lounge to know that our dear Elizabeth has started a really great thead on the resorts board. The title is "Disney RESORT Room Picture Thead." What a great idea Elizabeth. :thumbsup2 It is a lovely thread with so many pictures of rooms at different resorts. Here is a little sample. Head on over there is much more to see. :)

I know I can’t be the only one who loves seeing pictures of resort rooms at the Disney resorts. It helps me choose where to stay next.

I thought we could start a thread with pictures from your rooms at the Disney resorts (including the Swan/Dolphin and Ft. Wilderness). Please post which resort and as much detail as you remember about the room (like the room number, the view type, which building it was in, etc.). Feel free to posts pictures of the view from the room as well. If you have pictures of the grounds or lobbies of the resorts, there is another thread for those, so please post those there. :)

Here are my pictures from the Beach Club. It was a standard view room (# 4702). The view wasn’t great, so I didn’t take pictures of that.

Great thead, this week end I plan on working on getting all my photos on photobucket so I can post. :wave2:

Thanks for the compliment on the thread, Angel! I just love seeing pictures of the rooms, and I figured I couldn’t be the only one. LOL! :teeth: In some cases, the rooms themselves help me make the decision about which resort to choose better than the overall resort pictures.

How cool that you and Disbug will be there around the same time as me! We’ll all have to try to meet up if we can! :)

Elizabeth! What a great thread! I've seen your pictures before but I forgot how great they were!
