Good Morning Lizards

I see Kris is off on her dream trip and so many of you are getting ready. I have to say I envey you all.

GOT BIG NEWS I heard from the Polynesian today! We are starting to look forward to staying at the Poly in May :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Questions Lizards- What can you tell me about the Wishes cruise. I would like to book one for my DH birthday while we are there in May. I did write to Poly, but they only said to give them a date and they will put in a reservation. That's great, but I would like to know how long the cruise runs, how many people it will take and can I bring food or have the Poly plan something for me. I have ask IPO but they did not have any information. Can anyone help>

Angel

EDIT TO REMOVE GRAND1 INFO

Angel16 - Sorry, Angel! I just automatically think of Grand1 when I see Wishes cruise. You're talking about the Pontoon cruises, right? I believe Floridafam said she could bring her own food, but it might be just as easy for IPO to handle arranging food/snacks.

Does anyone know if they have the music for Wishes for the Grand1 now or did that fizzle out?

VAgal- That is ok, tell me all you know about the Grand 1.
I really do appreciate you answering me. This is something I have very little knowledge about and would like input.

I would like to schedule a nice cruise that would be special and romantic. I was thinking of wine and cheese and something chocolate to enjoy while we cruise. I would like to know how long the cruises are and if I can rent it for a longer period of time. Any suggestions?

Angel

Angel16 a few Lizards shared a Wishes cruise back in August. The pontoon boats will accommodate 12 people (I think 6-8 would be the limit of comfortable though) and there are a couple of packages available that food and beverages, as well as the basic cruise. There is a special birthday or celebration package with a cake and decorations. We had Melissa order special desserts from room service, and I'm sure you could have IPO check into this. The cruise itself was nice - saw the fireworks from Bay Lake and our skipper was very informative too. You can find more info here:specialty cruises

Our family of 5 did a MK fireworks cruise perhaps 10 years ago. At that time, the pontoon boats stopped in front of the MK on Seven Seas Lagoon. I wonder why they now view Wishes from Bay Lake?

Anyway, it's great. I preferred it to the Illuminations Cruises.

If you ask on the Attractions and Theme Parks Board, you'll probably get some more help too, Angel.;)

Donna & BCV23 - Thank you both for the information. Do you think it is worth the cost? Would I be better planning dinner somewhere else and watching Wishes where we can hear the music and story. From what I am reading you can not hear the music. I thought the boats would be fitted with either a CD player or the ability to pick up the reception. My DH just loved Wishes, he even got teary eyed,:earseek: so I want to have something Wishes involved.

I appreciate your help. :flower1:

Had to use search to find our thread. We will never stay on page one again. Ever....

#1hockeymom, Thanks for the list... You have no idea how close you came....

Granddaughter is asleep. We made 5 dozen cookies. It was such fun...princess: princess:

I'm going to start cooking tonight.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING AGAIN!!! :wave2:

Sorry didn't see this question since I can never find the thread these days.;)

We have done the fireworks cruise 4's in the last 3 years. The particulars are as follows.

You will leave from CR, WL, or THe Poly. I have not heard of them leaving from the GF I am sure they must, But I myself have not been given that option either.

It is a very comfortable pontoon boat that seats 12. I have done it with 8 and with 12. It was not crowded with 12 and just as much fun. I have found it is easier to get the boat from CR. as it is a straight shot through the lobby to the Marina in the back. We usually buy snacks chips, soda cotton candy before we hit the boat. We have never not been able to bring our stuff aboard. (It is to the discretion of the driver.) I don't imagine alcohol would be allowed?
ANyway... you will have a driver and guide...o will drive around for a awhile and tell you all kinds of trivia about the differant resorts you pass. And Bay Lake itself. MAybe about 20 30 minutes. Just before the fireworks you will more with the other Pontoons in front of MK's entrance, the castle will be right in front of you. It is a great unobstructed view and very relaxing you will feel like a VIP. If you picture the ferrys leaving MK. you will be on the right side of those ferrys.
I have also done the bIrthday fireworks cruise. It was a little steep. But I guess worth it? The boat will be doecorated with Balloons and streamers. You will get a full cooler of sodas and waters. about 20 maybe. If you don't finish you can take them with you. A personalized cake ours was a wonderful chocolate from WL. I guess maybe $60 worth of goods. and $ 65 to set up. If you break it down like that it does sound reasonable. That boat is $250 plus a tip.
The regular cruise is $125 and I always top $25 dollars. Ok once I only tipped $20. because the driver was a bit grouchy. But he was the only one ever!

Happy Thanksgiving to this sleepy little thread!;)

Got a chuckle this morning as I pulled out my trusty Better Homes & Gardens, November 1983 issue, which houses some of our favorite since-we've-been-married T-day recipes.

I never noticed that the magazine has a Travel article on "Family Vacations in Central Florida"!

In 1983, apparently Epcot was just one year old, WS had 9 countries (no Morocco or Norway yet), and Disney World hosted 23 million annually! River Country, Discovery Island, and Disney World Village were the happening places. A 3-day World Passport cost $35/adult; otherwise a single day adult admisssion cost $15. Alfredo's, Three Chefs of France, and San Angel Inn were among the best restaurants with entrees averaging $8-13, less for lunch. Nightly rates at the Poly and CR ran ~$90-115/night for up to 4 guests!

I could go on but I've got some boiling potatoes calling out to be mashed. Happy holiday everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! DD has just hid from me as I have been singing the chicken dance all morning long and then go into "gobbles" whenever she brings in her cell phone and is talking on it. Oh the joys of being a parent! :) I am almost done with my end of the food preparations and we'll be headed over the river and through the woods towards the city but still in the snow. I have to say this morning is totally beautiful looking! Snow everywhere and stuck to everything! We really did get a good snow last night and with the sun out it is just a winter wonderland!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Debbie

Happy Thanksgiving

Guess everyone has been busy the last few days getting ready for the holidays. It has been quite on this thread, plus hard to find, especially when there isn't much posting done ;)

Great triva on Epcot Goofy's Muse - It is amazing the changes in 20 some years. Thank you for sharing.

Twinmomplus2new- I appreaciate you information on the wishes cruise. Do you know if they have the music that you can hear with the fireworks now?

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and stay safe.

Angel

Goofy's Muse What awesome facts. Thank you for sharing!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all...we had a laid-back one with 5 adults and 5 children out on the farm. It was a gorgeous day here!
:sunny:

Back home now and relaxing with a glass of wine. Wanted to check in on my favorite thread :teeth:

Have a happy holiday weekend
