The new Hawaiian DVC?

I just want to know when they will start taking reservations!:woohoo:

Normally in the HI language each and every vowel is pronounced. It should be A - U - Lan - i

Like "Ow-Lawn-ee"

You do pronouce all letters, but the sound a+u makes is "ow", unless there is a ' (glottal stop, I forget the Hawaiian term, I think it's 'okina) in which case you do pronouce all vowels. So if it was A'ulani it would be "A-oo-lawn-ee" I think.

We saw it a month or two ago, haven't been out to Ko'Olina in awhile. It's coming right along!!! We took pics.

correct:thumbsup2

although, being from nyc we pronounce lawn a little differently so i would have said, "ow-lahn-ee" :)

Where's that bottle of whisky, I'll get it right yet!!!

Ah oo lawn ee. You pronounce each vowel. As the You Tube video posted by Sammie confirmed and Dean stated even earlier.

Still sounds like ow-lawn-ee to me LOL. The A-U together is quick and similiar to the sound in Maui. You don't say Mah-a-u-ee, it has the "ow" sound. Maybe we can argue how to pronounce my street...Waipuilani LOL...

Do they know when you can purchase points for this villa? I have heard people talk about founders(?) points? We are looking at buying into VGC in July this year. However i thought at buying at the lower points there 160 then buying (2) 50 points contracts in Hawaii and give these to the kids when they get married or they move out of home.

Are you sure the native Hawaiians don't pronounce that way?

Au is pronounced lie wow if together. My expectation is that it would be A'ulani officially. Stay tuned.
