Hi Brook . WTG on the RPC for your trip in July . BTW....I'm Deb. I posted some questions here last summer as I was booking our first stay at the GF for this June. I remember seeing you post alot on here and then I got hooked on the GF chat thread through Chan . So I just wanted to introduce myself and say congrats on getting RPC for your trip .

chan is a sweety ...yup yup she is a regular darlin (cough cough sometimes)

Anything new going on with the resort or parks?

I have had the ressies since last summer but today was able to get the 4/3 deal code for RPC
so I added on 2 nights
we will be staying 8 nights/ 9 days

I saw the kim possible thing in Epcot and I am sure Savannah will love that. I haven't seen anything else that has changed though

I also wasn't sure if there have been any changes to the resort since last summer. I know they are always changing something

Hi Praline!

So far there have been little changes to the GF. They did do some work on the zero entry pool to change the filters and they are upgrading their cabanas once again.

Me and my husband were just there two weeks ago and had a wonderful time and spent most of our time at the hotel. We stayed RPC, as usual, and the GF is as beautiful as ever!

Chan is a sweetheart . I actually had the chance to meet her (along with Kristin & Dawn) the week of New Years. A bunch of those crazy gals are on their way home from the GF as we speak. They took a girls only weekend at the Grand.......I was one of the sad ones that couldn't make it . The rest of us on the chat are waiting for them to get back to hear about all the wild and crazy trouble they got themselves into .

I'm kind of out of the loop as far as any new things because we haven't been down since Sept '07 . We were down last March but it was a family trip to Orlando and we weren't at Disney . But I'm sure Chan & Kelly and the rest of the gals will have a report on anything new and exciting . We are staying at the GF for the first time in June and I am BEYOND EXCITED .


This 4/3 deal is crazy!!!! We were originally booked for late July.....then this deal came out so we changed our dates to June to take advantage of it......now they extend the dates into August .......but we're keeping our June dates. We would have been down there the same time as you as we were booked for July 17-24 .


I hate to chat and run but I have to go pick up my oldest DS from drivers ed . Nice to meet ya......looking forward to chatting with you again soon .

Hi Brook back Girl!!

How have you been?

My DH can't thank you enough for the tip about Narcoossee's for room service!! He's so looking forward to surf & turf on the balcony- he wants it two nights of the trip! I always think of you when I order room service now! You are the room service queen!

The Cabanas are supposed to have fancy-schmancy upgrades, Chan is going to give us the details.. That's really it. I'm going the same week as last year. Might as well someone in the family get the birthday gift card. All my guys bdays are in Feb

Hi Brook...Good to see you back....I was just a lurker way back when....but I really enjoyed your trip reports...and as Mare said especially your idea for Narcooses room serivce!!

Congratulations on booking RPC with the 4/3 promo ...I tried but for my dates it was booked up...so I'll just have to settle for SL!! JK I do love SL...

I was at Disney just this past weekend...dont think there is anything new at the GF...definately not the floors they are still just carpeted...

Floors or not though it is as beautiful as ever....

The GF gals at GF?! Shoot I hope the place is still standing

I can't wait to hear about the cabana changes. We are thinking of doing one on our day off from the parks.

I am also hoping the floors are done in the main building so I won't have to worry about that in July!

The 4/3 thing is kind of crazy!
I went from a 6 night RPC stay (with tickets) for 6,055
NOW I have a 8 night stay (with tickets) for 5,200

I am a happy camper but now will have to figure out what to do those extra 2 days

GF room service is the best I tell ya!!!!!
I can open my eyes and growl at the poor bell service people and they completely understand I am not a morning person
I don't speak until my second cup of coffee

I thought about the birthday ticket thing as my middle son's birthday is on july 2 BUT that would fall under the 4th of july holiday and I soooo do not do Disney on that week so we are celebrating his birthday.. just not on his actual birth DATE.... its not worth the free day in the park

I am sure I will mosey on over to the chat thread. I was just trying to get updated on all the new GF changes that have gone on in the past 7 months I have been away from it!!!


OHHHH On a side funny.. as some of you girls who know me know, my nephew lives outside orlando. Every time they see the GF or pass it he yells THAT'S WHERE AUNT BROOK LIVES
Since he has visted me 2 times this past year at the GF and spent so much time there with me those weeks I have been there he now thinks that the GF is where I live Did I mention how much I love my nephew?!

This morning I could only get the code with SL but this afternoon they opened up RPC with the code.
I'm not complaining ... just letting you know in case you want to try .. it cant hurt to try!

See in June I got the VIP tour guide for 3 days and my nephew was with us those 3 days ... errr he got a bit spoiled with doing Disney Aunt Brook style

Since he lives THERE and has AP ... well he doesn't get to do a lot of those extra special things.. though his parents take him to one of the parks every other week ...
Since June though he has been complaining that the way they do Disney sucks and he wants to do Disney Aunt Brook Style

DH just told me today that he would like to book a Mother-to-Be massage at the GF spa during our trip. We will be at WDW March 3-March 11. Does anyone know how early the massage times usually fill up? I wondered if there would still be availability or if I could wait and book when I get down there and have a better idea of what day I would like to go. Any advice would be appreciated!

In my experience it is never a problem waiting until 2 days to a week ahead of time. You will be fine.

I can tell you she is fabulous! She also has the loudest laugh eva!

Cabana Question...

I know I am obsessed with those cabanas... They were rehabbed a while back...but someone recently posted that they were undergoing another rehab

When I just saw them all were opened and available but looked the same as they did after recent rehab...

GF gals did you hear any more on this...is there another rehab going on...

They looked very nice...did have over head fans and now a flat screen TV...I kind of liked it better when they had a table with chairs inside though...

Parents can be quite inconsiderate with their kids. They think their little darlings can yell and scream (in happiness too) for minutes down in the lobby and are totally unaware or don't care that someone might still be sleeping at 7am.

These parents are probably the same ones that allow their darlings to leave their seats/stand on their seats at restaurants.

I don't have a menu, that's too bad that allears hasn't updated theirs more recently! I scrolled through the first few pages of this FAQ, and you are right, it isn't posted - but I did find a message from the thread starter, Alicnwondrln, who said she has it if you want to pm her.
