We just returned from the Afternoon Tea at the Grand and it will be one our highlights of the trip! We each chose our own tea. I had the blend of 3 black teas served as Ice Tea. Now I consider myself an ice tea snob and I LOVED this. I guess the Grand is the only place you can purchase this blend. We had afternoon sandwiches, scones with delicious jam and whipped devonshire cream and for dessert triffle and pastries. The tea came in a tea pot with a cozy to keep it warm and the china was Royal Daulton. Quite a treat!
Highly recommended.

Glad to hear you are having a wonderful time. I would love to do the tea but I am the only girl in a family of boys. :lmao: My DH and boys ages 13 and 11 would never go for the tea. I don't think I could go alone. LOL

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.

Loralie

Hi Bobbie - glad to hear you're having a wonderful time!

I'm so glad you posted about the tea - I have an ADR for my girls, my mil and myself next week. We'll be there in two days!!!

I thought Raratonga was at the Poly, not at the GF? :confused3

I am still recovering from our trip though, so I could be wrong :flower3:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yes, Raratonga absolutely is at the Polynesian. Another great resort. I meant to say Sago Cay.

Not sure if I'd had too much tea or not enough at that point. I was also dialing member services and getting busy over and over. and DISing on both threads.:surfweb:

How about the other two...do they have lobbies? I imagine they do.

Isn't the tea lovely in every way? Glad you enjoyed it. Hope the rest of your trip is fun and that your neighbors are quiet.:goodvibes

Besides the Main Building, we've staying in Boca Chica and Big Pine, and they both had "lobbies". No check-in or staff or anything, but large open seating areas that extended the entire height of the building.

Sounds just like Conch Key, Sugar Loaf and Raratonga.....oops make that Sago Cay.:rotfl:

:offtopic: I notice you're a BLT owner. Welcome Home. Did you book today?

No, we didn't. We'll have to get our dates in order first. I am hoping to do somewhere in late spring/early summer and maybe BLT in late January before our APs expire! We need to get on the ball and decide, though, since we can book BLT at the end of this month!

Got to love those APs...and the $100 DVC discount on them too! Good luck with your plans.:goodvibes

It appears as they have stated the poor economy has hit Disney in the attendance stomach.
We are amazed at home many rooms are dark at night.
And we were actually ASKED if we wanted to get back on the Spaceship Earth ride and ride again!
We were practically begged to come into the Finding Nemo show at Animal Kingdom.
It is sad but good for those of us here now.
We ate at Jiko at Animal Kingdom last night. Good food and we love going to the Lodge and watching the animals.
Today we are trying to change our schedule around so we can see Fantasmic.
The rooms in our building here seem pretty empty . I had to ask last night for housekeeping to come shut off the loud piped in music still playing in the lobby at 10:30am.
Today..temps up to 80!
Bobbi

The majority of rooms with Magic Kingdom views are in Boca Chica. The are also a few in Big Pine Key and in Conch Key. I believe you will also be able to see the Electrical Water Pageant from these rooms.

nicoleakr I think that the buildings with the most direct MK view are Conch and Sago...although Boca Chica is a favorite of mine I have read that the other two buidlings do have a more direct view...:confused3

There is a map at the beginning of this thread that will give you a good idea of where each building is located...:)

DH just told me today that he would like to book a Mother-to-Be massage at the GF spa during our trip. We will be at WDW March 3-March 11. Does anyone know how early the massage times usually fill up? I wondered if there would still be availability or if I could wait and book when I get down there and have a better idea of what day I would like to go. Any advice would be appreciated!

Howdy strangers~

Been 4-5 months since I gabbed with any of you turkeys:rotfl2:

Got my 4/3 deal for RPC today for July 18-26 and I am excited!

Anyone know if they started/finished up the floor in the main building yet? Knowing my luck it will be going on while I am there :rotfl2:

I hope everyone is doing great!

Brook!

Nice to see you around again!

Hey darlin~

Yueah things have been hectic for me lately! My eldest is in high school now and has to join EVERYTHING :scared: so I am taxi ... then my middle son made it to state honor band and symphonic so its practice every day with that... throw in all the other crap and man I am too busy to be on the computer!
In Sept our black dog (Serious) passed away. We adopted a beautiful golden retriever and i have been going to training classes with him. We are going through the process of being a certified therapy dog team. It takes up TONS of my time but well worth it!
How have you been girlie girl? I hope all is right in your world!
I sure need this trip in July!!!!! I may have to superglue myself to the resort as I will soooo not want to have to come back home to all of this chaos!!!!

Do you know anything about the main lobby floor being done yet?

PS.....

Could you GF addicts give me the quick 30 second catch up on anything new going on with the resort/parks? :rotfl:

I was last there June 2008 (7 months ago) so let me know anything new that might have popped up since then. That way I won't be a dummy when I get there! :thumbsup2
