I'd like to know all about the cabana rehabs too...love those cabanas...interesting since they had a refurb recently...

It's interesting to read that there is a "White Hall room" at the GF b/c I'm reading a book about South FL history which talks about White Hall, the 55-room mansion Henry Flagler built for his, I believe, third wife. I love how things at the Gf are named after real people and places - like Mizner's, Royal Palm, etc.

I will be staying at the Grand in 9 more days and have on of the Cabanas booked for five days. I have read on these posts about bringing food from Gaspirillas or a limited menu that is placed in your cabana.Does someone have a photoor can list what is available?Can you order from regular room service?

Mare...we will be in a cabana a few times....so I will definitely take lots of pics.

Grandflo, there is a little menu in the cabana...but you can order anything from regular PD also. That is their "thing"...you can order private dining to be set up anywhere on GF property.

We are set to head out this afternoon. We will take tons of pics and be posting from the GF probably late at night. RPC look out! Here we come!!

Robyn, safe travels and have a wonderful time. I am sorry we are JUST MISSING eachother once again! I am sure your daughters will be wonderful in the parade.

We leave for Orlando tomorrow night around 8:45pm and get to the GF after midnight!

That PD menu is the one we ordered from when we spent time in the cabanas also...

Food came very quickly and everything good too...

It's good to know that the private dining was up to its usual standards in the cabanas. We don't usually spend hours around the pools anymore (unlike when our children were young) but the cabanas are so tempting. Of course, if we ever go in the summer again, I think an afternoon by the pool with a cabana would be the way to go. Too hot to be in the park or golfing.

I just received an email from the GF's IPO ! I was just wondering how many of you leave all your planning to the Itinerary Planners at the IPO? I would love to just give them a list of all my restaurants and let them call in the ADRs...but how good are they about fulfilling the requests?? Do they do them at the 180/90 day mark on the dot? If I am the type of person that would make the calls at 7:00AM on the first available date to get the best time, would I be better off doing it myself? Do you think they get preferred times when calling in for guests? If you make your own ADRs, do you make an effort to send in that information for them to compile your itinerary? What is the best way to communicate with them? Phone? email?

One last question, has anyone gone on the AK Wildlife Discovery Excursion? Is it worth it? Would my 5 and 7 year old DDs enjoy this experience?

I have always just emailed the IPO my ADR's and a time "window" I want (in case they can't get the exact time. sometimes I email the day before to "remind" them my day is tomorrow etc. they have always emailed me back with a word document attached with all my restaurants, times, and conformation numbers. I am a control freak but hate waiting on teh phone and they always do a great job!
