Maybe the AC units are only used in the heat and humidity of the summer. :confused3

Oooh, good observation! :thumbsup2

She was there in Aug so maybe that's why she had the unit.

We were there in June and it was hot and humid but I guess not as bad as in Aug.

You girls are starting to make me stress about booking my cabanas!!!! I am definitely going to do a trial run a day before 90 days!!!

Chris gave us the drink menu last summer, so it was there if you wanted it. I love walking to bar, because I love those soft pretzels!!!! He could have got them for me, but it would give me something to do!

I dont remember anything but fans in the cabana...and we were there in the hot humid summer....:confused3

We did get lunch from the PD menu and yummy frozen tropical drinks delivered right to the cabana(think our nice cabana attendant took care of this...:) )....

BCV I didnt see any touch screens when I stopped by there in December either...

I dont really care for the touch screens anyway...much prefer to speak to a real live person....

goofygal531 and BCV23 thanks for the info on Gasparillas and refillable mugs. June can't come soon enough:goodvibes

Tell me about the pretzels...I LOVE soft pretzels! :cheer2:

Chan, I got it in August 2007. We didn't bother in December (and good thing, since it was too chilly to swim)

Maybe I just got really, really lucky with my fan/AC unit! :rotfl: Seriously, that thing was worth the rental price alone, much less the other perks that came with it!!! (although back then the cabana attendants didn't do much except bring more towels.)

I have a friend arriving today. Does anyone know if the beach pool has reopened? The rehab schedule said closed until Jan. 23. Thanks!

Thanks everyone for all the responses... I CAN'T WAIT TO BE LOUNGING.... WEEEEE HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO:cheer2:

:beach: In the cabanas, I was hoping maybe they'd have one of those misters with the fan you see sometimes while you wait in line at the parks. The new cabanas do look really nice though. We are for sure planning a half day of this in May. I'm excited to be getting to the 90-day mark to start booking everything for our trip. I thought I read somewhere it was 60 days out to book the cabanas....is it 90 or 60 days? Thanks for all of the helpful info from everybody on the cabanas.

Channing, when you get back, please give us all the low down on the fan vs. AC unit controversy!:confused3

Hey! I WILL!!!;) We were there in July, also...before the rehab..and it was HOT...but I don't remember any AC type units:confused3 ....a fan is a fan is a fan.:rotfl: Whatever it was...it was blowing air on me.....I was mostly under a palm tree trying to pick up internet service on my laptop from the main building....anyway.:rotfl: Between that and being with my kids I wasn't even in the cabana much!:upsidedow

It is 90 days out to book....so be ready!:thumbsup2

Happy travels,

Channing
GF GAL!:cool1:

Thanks so much! I will be ready to book. I still need to call IPO with my credit card number, but I've already sent them everything I want to book (including the Breathless cruise for my B-day), so I'm really hoping they come through for me. I'm glad it's 90 days for the cabanas. I just want to get it all booked and over with!:cheer2:

Hopefully it's not super hot in May!?!? Never been there in May before. We've been in February, July, September, October, and December....but never May, so this will be new for us.

I LOVE MAY!!!! :goodvibes We have had the BEST trips in May!!!!:)

The weather is usually gorgeous and in the 80s but not muggy and sticky. Blue skies, breezes.....lovely!! And when I"ve been the crowds have been really manageable. You will have a GREAT TIME!!:goodvibes

Enjoy!

Channing:)

Yay! Now that's what I needed to hear!pixiedust: I can't wait!

Does anyone know what the lodge tower room is at GF? I'm trying to decide between a LT vs GV room...

hmillerbarilla and dpndka The lodge tower rooms are a specific booking category...this is a room that has a small additional sitting area with a sofa chair coffee table and an extra television...I think it only sleeps 4:confused3 dont think that this is a sleep sofa....

It is a nice extra bit of room...there are pics of a lodge tower room in SL page 1 of this thread post#15...the ones in SL are by request only...totally different because this is a CL building...

I think there are LT rooms in all of the outer lodge buildings and that they have garden views also but they are not considered GV rooms by booking category...

GV category is a standard room with 2 queen beds and a day bed....and not standard by any means IMO...its a very nice spacious room...

Hope this helps...

Yippee ....tomorrow is 9 days until arrival at the GF?
I've been watching videos of the GRAND at youtube. Great!
Question: Is the Grand's gym free? In case we want to do the elliptical?
Bobbi

Yes, use of the fitness room is free for guests of the GF and Polynesian. You're getting so close:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: ! Have fun!

BlueSkies, thanks about the touch screens. I prefer talking to an actual person too.:thumbsup2
