BlueSkies: That is a great idea for the soaps! I just found a Mickey bar soap that DS5 bought me for my bday last year. OMG it was so difficult to get the paper off!! :rotfl2: But the boys love it in the bath. They get excited to wash with the mickey soap, so we'll be buying a few of those in June! ;)

I called private dining to get the info about the menus and they didn't know the cabana had their own menu! They said it's all one menu. But now I'm thinking it's not worth the 2 TS. I might just have DH hike to Gaspies with us :rotfl2:

Well..the cabana menu is a snippet of the whole PD menu....you might have to call 6 times to get a consistent answer.....

I just know Chris is awesome and that's what he told us....

Channing -- that's an awesome site! Thanks for sharing. DD and I were just drooling over the photos. I know I'm going to miss staying at the GF now...

I get a kick out of how you needed a CM "escort" to be allowed to photograph and publicize a store -- do they know how much business you're sending them?:lmao:

I wish I had taken view photos from our TPV (they were called LV back then) rooms in Boca Chica -- the views were great, but alas, no photos to send to you for your site...:sad2: We always stay at the GF at the end of our trip and I think that we're so exhausted by then that we just dont take as many photos as we do at the beginning of our trips.

Oh I know, I trust the Cabana attendents MORE than PD!!! :rotfl2: I just really thought about it and it's not worth 2 TS credits for sandwiches. DH can "rough it" one meal :rotfl:

Besides the boys love going to Gaspies and you made a good comment about getting up to stretch your legs - we were itching for a walk last year too! It was nice to walk over to Gaspies and bring our food back to the cabana.

DH will survive! I'll just tell him that's what the boys want, as long as it's for the kids he doesn't complain!

:rolleyes1 Yeah I did do it in the store. My husband said I have a problem. :rotfl: I just call it organizationally challanged

I am a little OCD with my BASIN stash. I seperate my bath bombs with those wrappers and write it on there so I know what is what.:rotfl:

I think it's a good idea and I'm going to try it in June. I hate having no idea which bombs I'm using. :headache:

I really wish they were sold individually wrapped with the name on it!! That would be so helpful!

I know this has probably been asked a thousand times but to those of you who have stayed at GF a few times what GV room should I request. I cant change our room type because it is sold out so I am stuck with GV. I know it will be fantastic regaurdless but any info would be great. I was thinking the Boca Chica building would have good pool views or is this not a good request??

we like being near the marina (conch key, specifically). It is close to Gaspy's, the bus stop etc. It is a bit of a walk to the theme pool, but we tend to go at a time of year when swimming isn't a priority.

I love the location of Boca Chica -- it's so easy to get to the pools and the main building. Haven't stayed GV there, though, so I cant help with the views. But I do love that building!:)

I always thought Boca Chica was a great central location & I love the courtyard pool views.

yea....it's a nice building that faces the pool and the main building and it's pretty much near everything.

Happy planning!!! There is a map at the front that may give you an idea where you prefer to be...for GV I would want BC though.:thumbsup2

Hello,

I'm new here, a Poly lover who is taking the plunge this August 8 to the Grand Floridian. I finally convinced my kids and DH to try it out, which was not easy because they're creatures of habit and really like the Poly.

But after three years in a row at the Poly, they agreed to give in to me just once. I'm so excited.

I've been reading this thread and learning lots. Thanks for all your insightful help!

Here is a silly question I have been meaning to ask for a long time but keep forgetting until Dave just brought it up...

Late at night or early in the morning while walking around outside looking at the castle we always hear a wolf howling sound track.
Is that from HM or what? Its only when the parks are closed we ever hear it.... not sure if its mood music or something from HM they leave on 24/7 but we can only hear it from the GF at night?

Whatever it is ... it creeps the hell out of me!!! :rotfl:

IWISHFORDISNEY GVs are sooo nice at the GF and I have to agree with Lives4Disney and mmears about Boca Chica...its right in the middle of everything....the view of the courtyard pool and the main building is just lovely...especially so all lit up at night....never stayed in Big Pine but I think Mandymommy did and really liked that it was close to both pools....so many good choices...:confused3

Welcome Tam...:) I think you will be a GF fan before long too....enjoy your trip...

Brook That is the HM...its much easier to hear at those times of the day/evening....

Well its creepy when your walking to Gaspies late at night ..they need to change it pronto!!!
I kept looking behind me thinking some creepy warewolf was after me :rotfl2:

I am serious!!!!
Late at night walks to the grill can be WAY CREEPY with that sound!!! It makes me think of the horror films as a teen :rotfl2:

I told Dave its late night room service all the way baby... I am not letting no creepy wolf eat me at midnight :lmao:

Well, after all, concierge is not available either at SL or RPC during the dates that we'll be there during spring break.:sad1: i think I would like to stay at Boca Chica in that case. Should I request it now or should I wait until I'm there at check in?
thanks:goodvibes
