Where are the GF fans? It's strange to find this on page 3 of the threads!!

:rotfl: THanks for the boost, Grannie Minnie!!!:rotfl:

We were planning our trip!! It's less than a month and we were spending all day making final plans.:thumbsup2

Oh, hi! Thank goodness...I thought I was in some kind of black hole! :rotfl2:

I see that some of you are gonna have a gal's trip. Hope that turns out to be much fun!

Two days?! Lucky you..
Does anyone know how far in advance you need to call to reserve a cabana? Our last trip was not in "swimming weather" so I didn't have to consider that.

I read that you can reserve a cabana 90 days ahead. I am going to reserve one too. I think it will be perfect for our family...especially my DH who is not a big fan of the sun. LOL

We'll probably be doing that up to the last minute...we keep changing our plans and itinerary...one thing that won't change is GF RPC!:cloud9:

:cool1: :cool1: just picked up my paperwork from AAA :cool1: :cool1: Only 2 more days and we'll fly out on saturday morning :cool1: :cool1:

GrannieMinnie, you can reserve 90 days out from the date you want to have the cabana. Enjoy!!! :goodvibes

Channing:)

I am getting close to my 90 day mark and I am glad someone asked about the cabana.

Can someone reserve one even if they are not concerige? Also 90 days from check in so if I check in on May 12th I call 90 days from May 12th even if i want to book it on May 18th?

Also are the costs still the same $60 for half a day with all the goodies listed on the first page (except the private dining and massages?)

I just booked the Grand for 7 nights! Its the first week of December. We might have to change the dates a little, but it feels so good to be booked. We also booked a trip at the end of May, but we aren't sure which one we'll take. :confused3
We have a Garden View, whats the best building to stay in?

ooh sorry, I said that wrong....:upsidedow I think I have CHECK IN on the brain....

It's 90 days out from the date you want to reserve the cabana...sorry for the confusion!! I need to edit!

Oh...you dn't have to be a concierge guest...just staying at the GF.

I think it's still the same price. Haven't heard differently.

Happy travels,

Lives4Disney :)

Thanks Channing! I hope it doesn't snow either!
The weather looks a bit iffy although anything is better than the blustery 16 we'll be leaving on Saturday. Calling for rain a few days while we are there and in the low 60s. Either way I'm sure we'll have a great time...the kids are looking forward to it, and I can't wait to stay at the Grand!!!!

Thanks to all of you who helped answer my questions! Hopefully we have a magical time staying at GF :):wizard:

momtoprincessj Have a great time....:goodvibes dont forget to come back and tell us all about your trip... I's sure it will be magical!!!

Callie Welcome!!! You came to the right place to ask GF questions...lots of fans around here...A week at the GF will be wonderful...you'll have time to enjoy the parks and the resort too...

All of the garden views are nice ...building preference varies from person to person...we like Boca chica for GV...pretty view of the courtyard pool and main building...kind of centrally located...but there is a map at the front of this thread that will show you where everything is....that should help you make a choice...

some people make no request and decide at check in...:confused3

Enjoy your planning!!!

Hi BCV!:hippie:
Glad you are having such a great stay and what a treat for all of you to dine at V&A. I posted about the pillows earlier - probably about the time you were leaving. DD LOVES them and said they are just like the GF's. DS liked them, too, but didn't gush over them. He thinks we need to return to the GF so he can confirm the pillows are the same!;)

Look forward to hearing the details of your trip!

Hi minniesota!:wave2: Your son certainly has the right idea for researching the pillows.:goodvibes I wonder how much sales increased after you posted the good news?:surfweb: I know I plan to order a couple after we get home. Thanks for the info.

Yes, V&A was an awesome treat for all of us. We've also had dinners at Kona, Narcoossee's, Spoodles, California Grill and Tutto Italia. Lunches at GF Cafe, The Plaza, LTT, Tony's, B&C (but not me...I'm going there today I think) and Chefs. Today DH, DD and DS2 are at DAK while I enjoy the villa and start to organize for our return home.

Decorations at Y&BC/BCV came down yesterday but were still up at MK and Epcot as of yesterday. I wonder if the Gingerbread house is still up at the GF? Probably not. Haven't been over there since Saturday night and I don't think we'll be back this trip.

Oh, one other thing: Narcoosee's has been a family favorite since the GF opened but in the last several years we haven't gone as often. My Dh thinks the prices are too high and we all thought the service didn't match the prices anymore. Well, our dinner this trip was perfect. Service from Amer was exceptional and everyone loved their meals. We all still miss lunch at Narcoossee's and sure wish that would be brought back!

Can anyone tell me the name/website/e:mail of the portrait artist at the GF? We were there during Christmas and we picked up a card and I lost it. Has anyone done this? Were you happy with your results? I tried to look through this thread and search, but did not find it. THANKS!

Bumping...AGAIN! (looks like I'm gonna have to get back on the GF chat thread!!) LOL Is that the only way I'm gonna hear about the "gals trip" when you're back???

Grannyminnie read about you changing resorts to the GF and surprising your sister!! What a great surprise:goodvibes Also I called WDW Recreation today and you can book the cabanas 90 out from the start of your trip...not from the day you want to reserve...makes booking much easier...

BCV Glad that you are having a good trip...sounds like alot of good dining...:thumbsup2 We always enjoy Narcoosees...usually best meal of the trip...I used to enjoy the lunch there too...enjoy the rest of your trip..:)

Minniesota How is your DD liking the new pillows...didnt order yet...its on the TO DO list....

Thanks Blueskies :goodvibes

The rooms at the GF have hair dryers right?
I was just reading a review of the poly which the poster said they wished the rooms had blow dryers??? I hadn't planned to pack one so now I'm glad I asked...man I'd have horrible hair if I didn't have a hair dryer :rotfl:
