Yeah - I figured out how to post pictures. This is the view from our room Sago 5238 from right to left

Reading about the crowds got me thinking about the taping of the Christmas parade on Friday November 30 and Saturday December 1st at the Magic Kingdom. I read that Main Street is of course blocked off and the crowds in the area are huge. Has anyone been there for the parade? I think there are a lot of celebrities in the parade. I also read that many of them stay at GF. Does anyone know any details? Maybe we'll bump into Regis (I think he is host). That would be funny! :santa:

The beach - my parents pushing DS9 in hammock. He loves the hammocks. He would even stay at CBR again to have them.

I think someone asked earlier if you could see the castle from Gaspy's - yes you can. My night picture didn't turn out. It was pretty from there. We saw it each night as we walked to our room.

Pirate Loot - my mom dropped him and picked him up so the other pics are on her camera. I will try to load them from her house at T'giving.

Hello all. We leave on Friday night for our first GF trip. I am SO excited. It is DH and I with our 6yr old dd. We are staying at the Hyatt at MCO and then taking ME over Saturday morning to "check in" and get our cards. We are just going to do the Epcot countries on Saturday since I am sure the crowds will be crazy and I have no desire to wait in any long lines. We are staying until the 29th so I am hoping the crowds die down between Thanksgiving and The Christmas parade tapings the next weekend.

Any last minute suggestions for me??? Are there any pictures anyone would like me to take - let me know!

Hey, Grannieminnie, you can email IPO and let them know your arrival time....they'll be on the lookout for you. Let them know how you're arriving. There is a concierge check in podium outside the front entrance. THey will walk you to either your room if it's ready or the sl concierge desks and check you in.

Never say never
....the castle lights are on every single night - Xmas party or not. Tonight they were on at 6 pm. Not sure how they decide when to turn them on because I know they didn't go on til after 7 pm the other nt. They are beautiful and you can tell the castle is lit up from the Gf. It looks like an ice sculpture. Sooooo pretty.

Good crowd news....tonight we went to LTT for dinner at 7:45 and stayed at the MK after. We missed the first Spectro and then Wishes and went on rides and walked on HM, JC, Aladdin ride, and pirates.....I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! THe place was packed, but it really thinnned out after Wishes. We didn't stay til closing because DH and DS were tired. I wish we could have stayed because I think this was a good night at MK!

I have been out and about almost all day. I will try & talk to somebody re the manager's name and Sago tomorrow.

We are managing to have fun keeping busy doing other things than parks & I am really glad we are in RPC because it's just lovely. Cmbar, you're sure right....I am really really lucky to be here. :goodvibes

Trying our best to get to Epcot EARLY tomorrow morning and then we go to Narcoosees for the first time ever for dinner. :thumbsup2

Dlo - GREAT pics!!! Thanks for sharing!! :) Now the funny thing is I look at the old room pics and I actually like this new room better;) ....I sure wouldn't like it with the white walls, though!

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)

Hey Channing, let us know how Narccoosses is!
We are eating there in Feb and I want to be 100% sure jeans are okay there ;)

Sorry to hear about the crowds! Just remember to find the magic in the little things :goodvibes

Do you think they still have the white walls in some of the buildings??? Can you please ask about that also???

Thanks -
Michelle

Quick question everyone. I never realized there was a barber and beauty salon in GF called the Ivy Trellis. Is it girly or do they do a true men's shave? I would love to get this for DH before our night at Narcossee's. He loves a good shave.

Also, I didn't realize there is turn down service and robes for us non-concierge people - WOOHOO!!! :cool1:

Hi! Just returned from GF Nov. 10th-17th. What a perfect week to go! The weather was perfect and the crowds were at minimum!!! We were in Conch Key 7201 and I was very sad to get a 'beige' room:sad1: . I wanted to switch but DH thought that was rediculous. I asked the manager and was informed that all corner rooms do not have wallpaper. This is due to the exterior walls getting so hot it causes the paper to buckel. I miss the old floral!

Channing, thanks for the arrival info. I will email IPO this morning and "announce" my ETA!!:lmao:
Oh, and great that you actually didn't have to fight the crowds last night...
BTW, has the fruit started appearing in the morning, or do you still have to ask for it?

Channing, glad to read your trip is coming along so nicely..looking forward to your report on Narcoossee's - we'll be eating there in a couple of weeks!

Boy -- you guys start a new thread and literally run with it! Things have been so busy at work that I haven't had time to find the new thread or skim the more than 40 pages until last night.

Good work on the thread!

I can't remember who it was that was asking about transporting the gingerbread houses, but it can be done. We brought one home that some good friends sent us (thanks Denise aka triplefigs! :) ) and it made it home great. We finally took it apart a week after Christmas. It was great to have it to help re-live our trip after we left the Grand last year.

Channing -- I'm so glad y'all are having a great time! Please say hello to my RPC fav CMs for me! ;) I can't wait to get there after Christmas.

Have a fun and safe Thanksgiving everyone! :)

This might be old news, but we just got an email from H2O. My husband emailed them after our stay at the GF to ask about the green nubby soap. The response was that it was originally an exclusive for Disney, but it has been so wildly popular that they will be offering it to the general public starting in late Dec. 2007. Hooray!!!

I just wanted to say Happy Turkey Day to all my GF friends! I will be cooking all day tomorrow for my family and I will be busy! I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday!
