Welllllll..............I won't keep ya in suspense. I did get the RPC room. We have room 4301 with a castle view. It is the farthest is could get from the lounge, but who cares. I love it.
First, off.....I have to say something about Southern Elegance....I have used them tons in the past and recommended them to Dis Ohana and while they are still really good, something has changed. I need to find out if somebody just bought their name and the old owner sold because before out of a 1 to 10 scale I would have rated them way over 10 but now maybe 8.5 just comparing them to before. Nothing big but little things. I wish I knew how to find out the name of the current owner to see if it is the SAME as before.
OK, first things first - Dolphin = horrible. Won't go into it here, but I hate that hotel. Not again. THis was a freebie so I got what I paid for.
Thursday we went to dinner at 1900 PF. LOVED LOVED LOVED it. I don't understand at all why it's getting a bad rap on the DIS. I thought the food was much much much improved. Many more choices and it was good. My girls agreed. THe characters were FUNNY. I will post pics when I get home. So cute. We enjoyed it a lot and i am glad I didn't just cave and cancel.
Friday we checked in and found ourselves here in RPC and it is wonderful. We went to CP for late bfast and it was good as usual. We went to the Xmas party last night because it was colder than heck and thought it would keep people away...,.we had our warm clothes so it was not an issue for us. We were game. It was the best Xmas party I have ever been to. If they were all like this - empty! I would have told everybody I know GO. The castle lights are fantastic. It looks like a sparkling ice sculpture. THe fireworks and parade were great - very different from previous years. We stayed til midnight and had a ball. Dis Ohana......you might want to try and go.....I don't know if ti was the cold weather that did keep crowds out but we've been to absolutely jam packed parties so this was a treat for us.
I am sooo glad I upped my flight. The guys flight was delayed and with all the hassles they had didn't arrive til 2 am and so they are passed out now - considering they were up and out for their Segway tours this morning.
The girls didi BBB at the castle and had two super neat Fairy Godmothers do their hair. It was a good time. we are all kind of pooped out from the party and they guys from their awful travel.
The CMs here are SO nice. Everybody is really Disneyish at the GF. I have only had nice CMs at the parks, too.....RUDe RUDE guests at the parks that almsot can ruin my experience. I have to talk myself out of letting that happen. Today housekeeping came and did a great job and left me.....nine towels. I took pics of all the H2O they left me too because it was gobs. I love that. I hate when hotels skimp on towels and toiletries. I didn't even ask - they just left them and I was so happy to come back to that!!!!! Oh,, have to add that they left us the highly coveted rarely seen towel animal! An elephant that was super cute and blue eyed and Lu loves elephants so it was just perfect.
The lounge is very pretty. Tamed down colors IMO. More subtle and soft but still enought color not to be boring and blah. Same with the room. The walls looked very peachy on my computer screen, but they are more of a tan/cream print and in certain sunlight, golden. They match nicely w/the brown/gold in the carpet. There are hidden characters in the drapes....cute. The bedspreads also are more yellowy and blue than my computer showed the pics to be. They are pretty, but the fabric is very stiff and polyestery fire retardentish.....haha. The chair isn't even as nasty as I expected it to be. It is all subtle and soft and seems to go together but not look like a model home bedroom or overly hotellish. It's nice.
The gingerbread house is fantastic. The smoking chimney spreads the scent throughout the whole lobby and down the hallways. YUMMY. We've been there a few times. They have boxes for the houses that are absolutely adorable....they have handles at the tops for easy carry.
hmmmm.......the shower heads are changed to the big waterfall? style...not sure if that's the right word....they let it rain on you if you wish or are adjustable for different pressures. THey also have pretty porcelaine soap dishes and toiletry tray and kleenex box cover in the bathroom....sorry for the spelling....DH's laptop always throws my typing.
All I can say is I love this place. MK is overflowing today so we are just being lazy and most likely going back to epcot for dinner at R & C.
Some fun stuff....at the Xmas party the Mad Hatter rode with Jo & Lu in their teacup. They took him for a crazy ride and he was awesome in his part. So neat,. Also,, they were on the big screen at the Monster laugh factory too....no luck with dream squad....haven't even seen any actually but the guys won dream fastpasses on their Segway tour this morning which was great and made up for their travel hassles a bit.
The HM is AWESOME. I don't like when they change things usually,, but it was fantastic. The same but better.
I will be checking in and I am sure there's stuff I forgot! It is great to be here....YES, I have a wonderful TA!!!!!
I'll be here for a while as everybody is sleeping!!! What duds. We were really burned out, though. I would sleep but I am high on Diet Coke.
