I have a question for you GF "vets"...my cousin from Tampa is coming over one day to spend the day with us in the park, and I want to know if it will be a problem for her to park at the GF for most of the day?

grannyminnie

We had a guest one day and it was no problem. The gaurd at the gate asked them where they were going and let them on in. Other people may have had different experiences but I don't think it should be a problem.

Channing,

Have a great trip. It's been a while since I've checked the boards but remembered that your trip must be coming up so I thought I would check. I wish I was going with you. Have a wonderful time at Disney and a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Myra

Thanks for the reply, minnie my my. We'll just have her explain to the guard what her plans are. Hopefully there will be no problem.

BTW, I'm in Georgia too...nice to be close enough to the World to drive down, isn't it??

I saw that you're leaving tommorow now! How exciting! Hope you have a wonderful trip!:santa:

Thanks again for the well wishes for a good trip.:goodvibes

The girls and I get to leave tomorrow morning. I am kind of worried about Park Faire...I will let ya all know how it is. I will be the guniea pig. ;) My friend just got back and said it was nasty.:sad2: We'll be at the Dolphin that first night....Maybe we should stop at B & C before we head to 1900, haha.

Happy day,
Channing :)

We are eating at 1900 PF for dinner in Feb. I hope it's ok, as my kids really want to see Cinderella's Step-Family. Have a great trip! We'll be in RPC for the 1st time in 84 days (arrive at the CR in 80 days!)

I forget - are you doing breakfast or dinner at 1900 PF? We actually like the breakfast and we enjoyed the dinner, but that was about 3 years ago. I told DD we could do it for dinner next summer so we can see the Stepsisters and Lady Tremaine. I hate that the dinner is getting bad reviews but we'll probably go anyway just to see the characters! Hopefully it'll improve!:)

Princesses we are doing it for dinner tomorrow night. I feel the same - it's mostly to see the characters we've never ever seen. It's just the 3 of us, I have my DDE card, so whatever....it'll be fine & fun. If it's absolutely disgusting that's another story, haha. We have had that:eek: experience at CM and even my kids groan and moan when I even mention giving it another go.:sad2: Not gonna happen.

I feel some GF magic coming my way.:wizard: I am just hanging on here til I can print my boarding passes in a few minutes....then I need to move my tail.:surfweb:

I can't wait to see the gingerbread house and by a bag of the little sampler cookies....LOVE THEM.:goodvibes

Wishing everyone a great GF trip! I love that place at Christmas. Get a window table some night at Mizner's and just enjoy those GRAND grounds!

I am so jealous!!! Have a magical time!!!:thumbsup2

Hello all,

Just back from 6 days down at the World and my out of the blue upgrade from Standard View to SL Concierge. We had nothing to compare it too so everything was GREAT. We had a first floor room across from the Concierge area. The food was great. We needed to make some schedule changes to make sure we were there at least two nights for the evening food and drink. I thought I had read that there were no Wine or Beer, but there was. It is still a blur. While I get our trip notes together, does anyone have any questions I can answer? We were given the upgrade as a Year of a Million Dreams reward. One of three we got on this trip. If I had one complaint, it would be the noise level of where we were, but Beggars cannot be choosers, so we did not care that much.
One other quick note, the boat loading area at the Magic Kingdom for the Poly and GF has been moved since last year. It is on the far right if you are looking at the two hotels.

We were able to watch them finish the building of the house and then the opening on Monday. We missed the pin signing yesterday because we were flying out. The whole lobby just smells great. I am not sure if they had this last year, but there is smoke coming out of the Chimmney now. Very Cool.

Enjoy.

Have a wonderful trip - can't wait to hear about your gv room. We're headed down January 10th. Let us know about 1900 Park Fare. It used to be one of our favorites and we have ADRs for both breakfast and dinner there in January. You will definitely be our guinea pig.

Have a wonderful trip!

grannyminnie,

Yes it is nice to be so close to Disney. We are 3 to 3 1/2 hours away depending on traffic. We go a lot. I have actually convinced myself that we are saving money by going so much because of the passholder discounts we get on the room. I haven't convinced my husband of that yet but he's still great and agrees to go.

Channing,

Like you said - you have the discount on the meal. If it's not that great just focus on the fact that you didn't pay full price and you got to see characters that wouldn't normally see (even if the interaction isn't wonderful). Seeing them a little is better than not seeing them at all.

Myra

Wow, minnie my my, you ARE close! We're in north Ga., north of Atlanta, so I still have a 7 hr. trip, but it's doable in a day, thank goodness!! No annual pass for me, but I'm starting to ramp up my visits. By year's end, I will have been three times this year.
Channing, I have eaten at 1900 PF for brunch within this year, and I didn't find anything to complain about. Here's hoping the same for you..happy and safe travels, and hope to see you before you leave on Monday!

We're just a couple of weeks out now, so I'm starting to get nervous. I know it is definitely not ideal to check in late, but we're going to have to on Sun, Dec. 2nd. We'll be in RPC. If we get a less than desirable room that night, can we just ask to move the next day when something else is available? Mainly I care about being on the same floor as the lounge. We're never lucky enough to get a theme park view anyway.

Also, not that it's likely to be available, but if we could get an ADR at Narcoosee's would our 2.5 and 6y/o children be OK there?

And lastly, am I missing something or have the characters changed at 1900 PF? When we went before I don't remember seeing the stepfamily--when did that happen? Can't wait to hear a report back from Lives4disney: have a great trip! (Same to all the others going soon!)

We have done that move the next morning thing. If there's something available they will let you do that. I hope you get a great room from the start, though!! I can't answer you on Narcoosees because I haven't yet been there...trying it this time, though. Also, I think the characters changed when the restaurant opened after the rehab. I am very interested to see how it is....I heard the character interaction is fun, but the food is nasty.

Happy planning.....I am counting the hours!

Channing :)

AHHH... the smell in the lobby... the gingerbread house... I can't wait to see it all for the first time, sounds awesome! Thanks for the description Mickey Maz and glad you had a great time.

Channing... Safe trip down and hope that 1900 is better then the reviews, hopefully everyone is being overly critical. Can't wait to hear all about your trip. Enjoy!

Best to everyone!

MickeyMaz,

Glad you had a great time! Congrats on the upgrade! We will be in RPC next month and can't wait! We love the lounge food and also plan on coming back to eat a lot! I revolve my park hours around scones in the afternoon and Chocolate covered strawberries at night!:lmao:

I don't recall seeing smoke out of the chimney during the other 2 times we've stayed in December! Sounds great- can't wait to see it and get some chocolate covered shingles!:santa:
