Thanks Lives4Disney, We are staying SLC so I guess I should request it when we check in with them?

Definitely. We were staying RPC and the concierge CM had to clear it with the front desk, so it seems it's still the front desk's decision, but I would ask when you check into SL and then they will tell you the procedure and hopefully it will work out for you.

I am sure it depends on the time of year & how full the resort is at the time.

I am so excited to be going back! Some days I am like...whatever...today I am psyched. After the foot and a half of snow, high of 10 tomorrow, and so much going on I am looking forward to a beautiful stay at WDW.

We normally stay RPC but I booked to late and could only get SLC. We don't really care just as long as we are at the GF we are happy. We are also so excited and can't wait for April to get here. OMG snow. I don't like snow at all and we have been very lucky this year and haven't gotten anything. I definitely feel for you. Our DS was born during the blizzard of 96' here in NJ. At that time my DH used to snow plow and he made it to the hospital and then had to leave again. We have since sold our business so he no longer has to plow. It takes it toll after a while. Your trip will be here soon. Thanks again for all of your help.

CoachBag- I would let the IPO know you want a late check out. I would also tell them at check in and stop by the front desk when you get settled or even call down from your room.

Not Hockeymom here, but we have only had it granted ONCE and that was til noon only.....our CM friend even made the call down to the front desk and pleaded our case for us (we are "magical, repeat guests, etc ), lol....they are hardnosed about late check outs!!!

I believe you should request it at check in at the front desk and they have told us to call down the day before and verify that they can grant the late check out.

Praline!!! Welcome back!!! Thanks for checking in! Can't wait to hear more details about your trip when you're rested up...maybe about Tuesday haha. I think they just got done fixing a water main in Conch...or something big like that in Conch actually a few weeks ago.

The room that got REALLY flooded... I mean they had to rip up everything was 7315 ... across the hall from us as we were 7316
They had to turn off the water for most of the day but since we were in the parks all that day and the water was back on by the time we were back in our room it didn't bother us. The only thing that HURT was the 11:30 at night tearing the room apart to get the flood damage out of the building. Luckily they were quick and apologized MANY times... I totally understood so we lived haha

1. We spoke so much about southern Elegance limo service I wanted to post a few pics I took in the limo. By the way they were FANTASTIC! Our driver even stopped so my kids could take pics of the Disney world sign

The cake I ordered for my DH... I asked for no flowers oh well ... they said it was REALLY good and polished it off quick like

We are NOT happy morning people so we ordered room service breakfast a lot... since I haven't seen too many private dining photos I made sure to take plenty.

As you can tell by this pic.... DS is not a morning person either

The table was always set up very pretty but by the time I got my camera out my horde had destroyed it grabbing the food like they have never eaten before I need one of those high speek cameras to take a pic of the table UNTOUCHED

My DS13 was being a ... well a typical teenager at the start of the trip
I told him how he was hurting my feelings trying to be TOO COOL for Disney (big eye roll) so he went down to the lobby to look around and bought me this gift as a surprise... using his own allowance to do so. I was so touched I cried

Praline - Welcome back!!! Your family is beautiful!!!! I am so happy you loved the GF!!! Your pictures are exciting me for my trip!! I have a DS13 too and it usually takes him a day or two to get into the Disney spirit. You made me choke up with the picture of that beautiful gift!!

Well, I guess your toe was ok!!! Since it sounds like you did alot of walking!!!

I am a repeat GF guest. I got a magical upgrade & it was a lovely suprise partially ruined by others that read the GF thread and weren't happy for me to have it.

Upgrades don't happen often. It's luck of the draw.

This isn't a GF video but its really funny and I had to share it with ya'll
We had the best character interaction ever at the Garden Grill!!!
Before our trip, I had some bows custom made of Chip and Dale... here is a pic of them:

We had a late dinner so it wasn't crowded and towards the end I had the only kids in the joint! My DD decided to give her bows away to chip n dale (this is why in the video her hair is a wreck)
We had all 4 characters at our table for a good 20 minutes ... pulling jokes and acting silly... we ended up in a food fight!!!!
they used her autograph book to insult each other...

I video taped most of it but the whole video is too large of a fle to upload. I did choose a small section of it to upload and share. It's still a large file but really funny! My daughter is USUALLY not so loud but she was having a BLAST!

Those pictures sure have me missing GF and Disney!

The lobby looks a lot better than it did when we were there in the beginning of January.

Praline - you dd's bows are adorable. Where did you order the Chip and Dale bows?

I do wish people would understand that upgrades are far and few between. In all our trips we only had one - and it was at the Poly. We booked a gv and got upgraded to MK view! My in-laws have only had two trips but they got upgraded last July to a waterview room. I think it may have had something to do that our reservations were connected and we paid for a waterview room.

We've never had an upgrade at GF, but we still love our gv!
