Hi Everyone!! It's been a LONG (about a year since my last trip) that I have posted on this thread! Some may recall I had health issues and unfortunately I'm still going through a lot of that!

BUT.....I will once again at the GF RPC in 8 short days! DH said I needed another trip to help with my health and me and my boys thought who were we to argue!! I will definately try to report while there! (didn't do much of that last time...very busy and then when I came home, health issues consumed my life!)

I haven't read too much of the recent posts, but I just want you all to know if you have any questions you need answered while I'm there, just ask!

Well, I have missed talking to you great people and I hope to stick around again for a while!!

I have a slight favor for you If you walk over to the Poly side of the beach... can you take a picture or two of the construction you can see from that side? I'm getting married on the Poly Beach in November and am wondering if I need to re-consider the location. I'm just wondering if it will be in every single picture facing that way If you get a chance... that would be amazing, and I would be so grateful!!

I am ldymcbth's sister who is NOT currently pitching a fit, thank you very much. Got off the phone with GF and they are showing nothing in their system about boats going offline for GF at the end of Sept, during the dredging. She checked with multiple places/people and didn't see anything. I know that can always change, but so far that's the "official" word from GF.

Hello, momatater! Glad to see you, sorry to hear you are still struggling with your health. I'm sure a GF RPC trip will be a welcome diversion.

I just spoke with someone in reservations to make a small change, and as part of the conversation asked him about the boats and monorail for that week. He said he was unsure about the boats, but that the monorail would absolutely be running for EMH and the MNSSHPs that week. I know CMs don't always have all the facts but I choose to be at least slightly comforted by this info. ;-)

I do feel TERRIBLE for the brides who are there during this time period. Bless their hearts! I hope Disney makes it up to them somehow.

Thanks for the updates, ladies! I hope this info is accurate, and all fears for transportation are unfounded.

Momatater, a trip to the GF and the RPC should be just the "medicine" you need to help restore you health! Take care of yourself and enjoy your upcoming trip.

As the news improves from the original rumors about construction and work done on the Seven Seas Lagoon, I hope that the Disney Brides will be taken care of. Thinking good thoughts and sending wishes for pixie dust your way.

We still have no power in NJ, thank goodness for my iPad so we have internet. Reading this thread, seeing KCmike's pictures and thinking about our trip next month helps to keep me happy!

Hi all, we're back from GF SL and I posted a mini TR on the main page.

We rented a cabana for one day while we were there, and we loved the experience! It was well worth the money, and we loved being pampered and having the shade for the very sunny day we had on Friday.

I'm really starting to like the GF

kaffinito - Welcome back! I'm so glad to hear you had a wonderful trip, I need to go find your TR. Nice to know the cabanas are worth it, I'll keep that in mind for our next visit. Looking forward to photos.

Jungle Cruiser - thank goodness you have internet, at least! I know it must be getting sooo old, not having power. We get bored after just an hour or two, lol. I hope it returns soon.

The same day you got that response, I got this from Grand Floridian IPO ...

"As of this moment the information that has been given to us states that
our only entity that is closing is the Spa. [Boat] transportation should not be affected." They also said though that as far as they knew there wasn't going to be any work done on the lagoon, so who knows what's true at this point.

Worse news being that it went on to say, " ... Monorails no longer are in service during Extra Magic Hours or Special Events as a whole." Which seems like it could indicate--though I hope like heck it's not true--that the monorail could be closing at 8 PM 5 of the 9 nights we're there. (Halloween party closes Magic Kingdom at 7 PM. Monorails run only one hour after "regular" park hours. Hope at least it would be based on Epcot's closing time, 9 PM, and not the super-early hard ticket event closure of the Magic Kingdom .)
