Can you eat at the GF Cafe or anyplace else at GF, for lunch without a PS? We don't want to be "locked" in on our arrival day, so we were hoping we could "just walk-in".

Can you hear the Wishes music and narration anywhere on the GF property (Narcoosee's, the beach, etc.) or is it just "view only"?

Thanks!

GoofyJoofy Already back into planning mode I see :) . The GF is a bit limited on their lunch offerings. You have the GF Cafe. It's fairly casual and unless you're going at a very busy time of year, you probably won't need a ps. You might have up to a 20 minute wait though. Narcoossee's and Citrico's are not open for lunch. The poolside bar serves salads and light lunches. Not sure when you're going, but Gasparilla's Grill is closed for November. That's the GF counter service restaurant with seats inside and patio tables with a great castle view.

If the wind is blowing just right, you can catch bits and pieces of the wishes narration. Also, the electric water parade goes by at 9:15 if you're trying to plan your night.

Tammi - has anyone told you that you are the GF Queen? I have gotten so much valuable information from this board and so much of it from your posts!

All Hail the Queen!

When is your next trip? I owe you a white chocolate slipper to thank you for all your help!;)

My DW and I have been going crazy trying to decide between these 2 restaurants. Everytime we look at the menus on AllEars, we change our minds. We only have one evening for dinner at GF, so we can't do both.

We will be with DD-13, DD-11, & DS-10 during December (9 - 13).

Here are the pros as we see it. Citrco's is in the main building, so we can enjoy the ambience of the decorations and music in the GF lobby.

Narcoossee's has that lovely water view with all those windows.

Our dinner will be early enough, so we could stroll the beach/marina and watch Wishes or even monorail it over to MK and watch from Main St. So viewing Wishes from Narcoossee's does not influence our decision.

So for those who have been to both, can you give us any other pros and cons for each.

Thanks so much for your help.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I just love being able to give back to the boards.

GoofyJoofy,

I think it all comes down to atmosphere between the 2 restaurants. Citrico's is definitely a bit more upscale, although it wouldn't be open on Monday night (12/13). It will be quieter and there are a couple of tables that do have a nice view. Narcoossee's is going to be louder and you'll probably see more younger kids there. The kids menu is basically the same at both places.

My family loves to talk, so we appreciate a quieter restaurant. Plus after all the hustle and bustle of Disney, it's nice to be somewhere soothing to the senses.

By the way, are you planning on doing MVMCP? We'll be there on the 12th and have a ps for LTT at 4:30.

Tammi

Tammi - Thanks for your input. You have a way with descriptions that just paint the perfect picture in my mind. :)

We are doing MVMCP the day we arrive (12/9) and currently have dinner PS at LTT. We are hoping to change that to Crystal Palace if we can. Also hoping the kids will have enough energy that night, since we have a 7:30 AM flight.

Saturday 12/11 is our "GF" day, so both places would be available.

On 12/12 we plan to tour the Epcot resorts then spend the afternoon and early evening at MGM, where we plan to catch the Osborne Lights.

Thanks again.

We're also flying out of Logan on the 9th, but we have the late flight. I figured that way we'd only have the kids out of school on Friday and Monday. I have reservations at the Hawthorne Suites for the night and then we'll head over to the Yacht Club in the morning.

12/12 is our down day because of the Christmas party that night. My 8 year old usually doesn't last beyond 9:30pm, so I'm hoping if we have a quiet day, she'll make it to midnight. If you recognize us at the pool, please stop by and say hi.

We're flying back on the 13th, Flysong at noon. I hate not having a full day, but it's back to school and work, so I didn't want to get home too late.

Wow Tammi - We are doing the exact same dates!

We leave 12/9 @ 7:30 and our return is 12/13 @ 1:00 PM.
We are flying SouthWest out of Hartford (Bradley), only because they had cheap flights a few months ago.

We just flew Song for our recent August trip for the first time, and really like that airline. We'll see how SWA compares.

I heard on another thread that you should try to print out your boarding passes at the resort. I'm sure the GF has a business center that you can use. There's something about getting an "A" classification, so that you are among the first to board. I believe it had something to do with the open seating on SouthWest. If you're an "A", you have a better chance of getting seats together. Here's the link if you want to check it out and see if you qualify http://www.southwest.com/travel_center/retrieveCheckinDoc.html

We were very lucky and got Flysong for $120 roundtrip. I hope you make out well with SWA. By the way, have you seen their show "Airline"? It's actually pretty funny to watch, but some definite horror stories.

Tammi

Tammi - Thanks for that info on SWA.

Flysong's best rates from Hartford are $89 one way. We grabbed the SWA reservations when we saw them at $79 one way. We did not know how long they would last, and at the time Flysong did not have the discounted tickets for our dates. We do get envious of the deals out of Logan, but Bradley is only 40 min. away (and NO Boston traffic). :teeth:

Never saw "Airline", in fact I just heard about it over the weekend.

Hope you enjoy the YC as much as we enjoyed the BC this past August. ::yes::

They should be able to print those boarding passes for you at the concierge desk.
CR CL was able to do it for us on this last trip.

All you need is a computer and printer.:sunny:

Yes, the concierge should be able to do it. Jack at the AKL helped us print ours this June.

It sounds like we will be missing you all. We are at AKL concierge Dec 2-5th and GF RPC deluxe the 5th and lodge tower the 6th (keep calling but no luck adding on last night!) At least we keep the concierge privileges for the full day even after we switch. That will make it easier knowing it's only our last day. Renee has been very helpful and quick to respond. I actually got a phone call from her before the AKL!

Hi,

I would also love to hear a detailed report on the food offerings in Sugar Loaf. We have done concierge at the Polynesian many times. However, I am sure there will be different types of food at the Grand. I really like to know what to expect before I get there.

Also, we would love to order some Cinderella white chocalate slippers and Mickey Mouse Bombs while there. Can we make special orders like that to be delivered to our room through the concierge?

Thanks for all of the help.

Myra

I have two questions. Does GF have coffee makers in the standard rooms? Also, do the rooms have wireless internet access? Thanks in advance.

I'm just bumping tenntoddlermom's and my request again.

We would appreciate any help you could give us.

Thanks,
Myra :earsgirl: :wave2:
