42 more days till mom sis and i are at the GF to recelebrate Sis's 21st birthday we have had a rough year so far and we are trying to start over at disney world because it is hard to be unhappy in disney and at the grand floridian!! time to take care of ourselves!

Hope you have a great trip!! :wizard:

We're looking into adding a few nights at the GF next summer (we'll be at wlv for 5 nights...but hoping switch to a 2 bedroom at BWV or BCV at 8mos. out)

I was wondering about the suites...I think we'll need to sleep 6 so the one bedroom looked good. Possibly there could be 8 of us. We also want the concierge services. Is that possible or will we need to book two rooms?

Currently, the suites at the GF do come with concierge service, your room may not be in a concierge building however. Your room key should open the doors at both Sugar Loaf and the main building.

I'd price out the suite or 2 concierge rooms and see what works best for your group.

Channing, where are the pictures?????????? Can't wait to see them!

i know i cant wait to see them

Well, it was her 40th birthday, they rented the G1, and they go to WDW and stay GF RPC around every 6 months or so. I'm sure the CMs were just tempting her to spend even more money next trip! ;) The old "bait and switch" trick!:rotfl:

LOL!!! Yeah! I never realized how tight those standard rooms are! ;) Honestly, this was a once in a lifetime stay - I told my girls not to get used to it!! :)

We have been going to WDW for 15 yrs regularly - I mean many times a year and I have honestly never had the fabulous treatment or pixie dust type stays that we recieved these past GF stays. I feel almost bad about posting how great the trips were because it may cause let down for others - I was never the recipient of magic before and always kind of wondered about it especially since we were "regulars". Honestly, I am sure it is the wonderful CMs we met during our stays. They created this awesome & unbelievable time for us.

I will probably post the pics tonight. Our AC wasn't working when we got home so my DH spent last night fixing it. Ugh. Makes coming home a real joy. I am totally clueless and stupid when it comes to anything computer, so DH is my guy. He was transferring pics and film from his laptop to my PC last night and doing some other stuff, so hopefully tonight.

I looked at the pics and just sighed. I LOVE that place. Everything was perfect.

Sorry for the delay, guys! I will try my darnedest to get them posted this evening - probably after 9 pm.

Channing, I actually saw you in the lounge and at the pool a couple of times. I recognized you from your daughters. In fact, one night your oldest (Lucy?) bumped into me, she is so polite. You should be quite proud. :goodvibes

I was going to mention "Happy Birthday" to you the day you were wearing your Birthday shirt, but I didn't want you to think I was completely crazy!! :confused3 I am glad to hear that you had such a great birthday vacation. The CMs there are just so amazing, it can't be compared to SL, IMHO. In fact, when we returned home Tuesday night, I called and booked us again for the last week of July (unfortunately, I wasn't able to get all of my wedding planning done... ;) )

And since I didn't tell you there, :bday: party: , even though it is late. Oh, by the way, this is what DF and I looked like... next time, we will recognize eachother...

Angela - how funny! I hope I was behaving...... ;)and not wearing my crown, LOL - they made me wear one at 1900 PF that morning, and my DDs wanted me to wear it all day. Not sure when you saw me or when I removed it!! I was in my own lalalala world I was so happy to be there.(and out of the YC) I ordered that cheesey bday shirt because my girls wanted me to. I didn't even get the bday buttons at the parks because I didn't want to attract attention - UNTIL, our last day we ate lunch at the Plaza and the mayor came in and I was watching him and he asked who is celebrating a bday!!? My family (behind my back) all pointed to me and he gave me a MK bday button to wear. It was kind of funny. Got my pic taken with the mayor and his wife.

Lucy probably did bump into you. She is visually impaired and bumps into EVERY THING. She is at an age where she wants some more independence, but it is hard in crowded areas. During our Portofino stay in March, we had a bad red wine incident. :guilty: Hope yours wasn't a bad one.... We laughed when we went into the Xmas shop in MK - had to find the first exit because all the breakables were a hazzard and my CCs were at risk!. :)

So sorry you have to return to the GF and finish your wedding business, LOL.

Have a great time going back!! Hope it is another wonderful stay. (LUCKY you :goodvibes )

Lucy was not at fault, in fact, I think I stepped on her feet , but she was so polite to DF and I. We also saw the girls apparently after th BBB, because they had their hair done and were playing in the pool. They are both SSOOO cute.

As for your tiara, I think you were still wearing it, but that's okay. You only turn 40 once, might as well live it up!! Not to mention, you were at WDW... You aren't going to see 99% of these people again (except for us crazy DISers!! ;) )

Glad you had such a great time at the GF!! Can't wait to go back. Joe just always makes our stay so wonderful. :wave2:

I just love reading about all of your stays...brings back great memories of our trip  The GF is such a wonderful place..I just love it!! I'm hoping we'll get to go back after our cruise next June, until then I will have to keep reading about everyone else's wonderful trips.

Lives4Disney~I can't wait to see your pictures, it sounds like you had such a fantastic time.

I just wanted to let you know that IPO is really quick now to respond. I know we were having trouble there for awhile but things seem to be better lately.

I just asked them to setup for us to have a cake on our fireworks cruise. These are the choices I was given:

For $25.00-8" cake that serves up to 8 people
(These cannot be alternated)
1-Vanilla Cake with White Chocolate Filling and White Chocolate Icing
2-Chocolate Cake with Dark Chocolate Filling and Dark Chocolate Icing

For $40.00---10" cake that serve up to 16 people
Chocolate, Vanilla or Marble Cake.

You can choose the filling: Buttercream
White chocolate Mousse
Dark Chocolate Mousse
Fruit Mousse
Custard with strawberries

Any icing from: White Buttercream
Chocolate Buttercream
Whip Cream

I wasn't very adventurous so I chose Chocolate with Buttercream icing and filling. With 10 people it is hard to make everyone happy. :thumbsup2

Here are the links with my pics of the Walt Disney Suite at the GF. Also, I have a few pics of the Grand 1 and us at Citricos on my bday. Denise - you will see me in them, LOL. :) The only one I like of me is the one on the Grand 1 of me and my Cinderella cake. The others are totally dorky. ESPECIALLY the one with the tiara!!!! Ugh. My dh put it in here. It should have been deleted.

Tell me about the firework cruise.....

Traci:

Disney offers two fireworks cruises one for Wishes and one for Illuminations. On the Pontoon Boats with snacks, soda, pretzels & chips it is $200 with tax. Specialty boats are extra. (Grand1 & Breathless)

We had the Illuminations cruise one year with a birthday party on board. They decorated the boat and had cake and soft drinks. This was extra but it was 8 years ago and I don't remember the exact price.

I think it is a really nice way to see the fireworks and relax at the same time. We are going our first night as a gift to our friends.

They have a two year old and I think she is going to be tired after traveling early in the morning so atleast we don't have to be at the park fighting the masses to get out.

This is the exact wording from the Disney Website:

Specialty Cruise Locations
Choose from cruises on the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake, Crescent Lake, or Village Lake.

Grand1 Specialty Cruise
Indulge in the ultimate party aboard the grand 45 foot yacht, the Grand1. Call 407-824-2682† for reservations.

Celebration Cruise
Invite up to 8 or 10 people, depending on the boat size, to join you for a celebration cruise.
Call (407)WDW-BDAY (939-2329)

thye pics are great channing
I am so happy that you had a great trip
the treats looked great and I notice alice n wonderland on the tv on the grand
i love that movie!!

Channing:

I love the pictures. Your daughter are beautiful and so is their mother. I think the one with the tiara should be framed it is great.

The room looks even better in your pictures than it did on the travel channel. You really lived like a queen this week and you should be wearing a tiara. :thumbsup2
