THANKS! I am in my final packing stages.

Oh and get this. I got a call at work today that my DS was crying for 1/2 an hour holding his ears because they hurt. Of course I was thinking "ear infection!" UGH! Right before our trip? So I picked him up and took him to the doctor. All is well - thank goodness. But he's ULTRA sensitive when it comes to his ears and he hates flying...so I am SO relieved that it was nothing.

Anyway, I will be sure to report upon my return. I get more excited by the minute - especially b/c I'm staying at the GF which I have decided is my ULTIMATE Disney resort. I am going to try to upgrade to RPC upon check in (for a fee, not looking for handouts - although a comp wouldn't be turned down ). I will take TONS of pics and post them here when I get back!!!

Oh my good golly I am getting so excited. We are staying RPC (first time) in October!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for that million dollar view (I think we all know what I'm talking about). I requested it, but do you think I should send an email to IPO in a couple of weeks as a reminder to put us in a castle view room?

Traci - I do usually send a touch bases type email about 2 weeks before we arrive. At that time I usually also have some shopping requests and special treats for the room requests and those are the main point of my email, but I also mention I really would love a mk view room if possible etc. I don't think it would hurt to just remind/ review your requests. The countdown is on!! Hope you're getting really excited!

Well a room in concierge showed up at the YC for 12/3 - 12/10 and I placed the deposit to hold it but I thought about it all night and decided to stick with the GF GV because #1 it would mean changing resorts and #2 I wasn't real thrilled with the YC last time I stayed there.

After viewing Karen's pictures I did however tell my TA to put a note on our reservation about my allergies and to make sure our room was free from mold and dust. Hopefully they will follow through. But when we check-in I will be asking if there were any cancellations in RPC.

Lynr - I saw your post regarding YC concierge!!! I just know when we did our split stay over the summer YC was a bust. We didn't do concierge, but had so many problems with the front desk, housekeeping (requested turndown and they only did it once despite we called daily for it and were told it would happen, and I found out later that not only did YC LOSE the basket I ordered from Peggy, but they also LOST completely a gift my friend ordered for me from Disney Florist for my Bday!!! The only way I found out was that she called to follow up and make sure it was delivered and guess what??!! It was not and they didn't even bother to let her know there was an issue. I finally got it a couple days into my GF stay. Long story, but it wasn't the DF's fault, the thing was sitting misplaced at YC. They were just bumblers there. It had been 7 yrs since our last YC stay and probably a while til we return, LOL. I understand your hesitation for GV and YC! I hope it works out and you get what you want either way.

It costs $9.95 for 24 hrs of wireless. It worked best in the lobby area or in the RPC lounge. My DH tried it out in our room first to see if the signal was strong enough - We think we remember it was, but we've had several different rooms there. I KNOW we brought the laptop to the lounge when we were just hanging out in the middle of the day and he used it there as the GF lobby has wireless. He said you can try it from your room first and see how good the connection is before you purchase it.

I have a favor for those of you who will be staying GF concierge in the next few weeks!! We stayed in Sugar Loaf concierge a few years ago, and my DH has recently begun to "wax poetic" about the pink lemonade we partook of while there. If you're staying concierge, can you see if they still offer it in the lounge, and if they do, can you please ask them for the recipe? (Or if it's pre-made, who makes it??)

Do you know where I can find a map of the GF? Is it possible to request a room close to the monorail, if we're only in a Garden View room?

We have finally made up our mind. We are splitting our stay between GF-GV 11/30 - 12/3 and Polynesian LVC 12/3 - 12/10. I kept checking the online reservations and Polynesian LVC popped up for our time frame.

I isn't my first choice but I am sure it will be fine, the only thing that hurt alittle was the price, no discount. Hopefully the service has improved since the last time we were there.

The Polynesian used to be our favorite resort and then the concierge staff changed and in my opinion not for the better. We have decided to give them a second chance it's been a few years since we've stayed there.

I am sure when my TA gets my email on Monday she is going to think I am crazy. Because she needs to change my first reservation and transfer this new one over to her.

I probably should give up using a TA from now on and just book things myself, but our AAA TA is so nice that I feel bad taking her commissions away.

We are home from a wonderful trip at the CR atrium club. DH has agreed to a Christmas trip in 2007. So now the big decision is whether to stay GF or the CR. We loved the GF last December. It is just so beautiful.

How are the MK view rooms at the GF? Do they remotely compare to the CR?

Any news on a possible room rehab at the GF? The new rooms at the CR were wonderful.

Triplefigs, I was glad to hear you had a great trip. You were brave to try the Contemporary after staying at the Grand Flordian. I don't know if I could be that brave. I love the GF and am afraid that I would just miss the heck out of it if I stayed elsewhere.

I was also wondering when the rehab would begin at GF, and how long would the rehab take.
