Kelly, thanks for sharing your pictures. They are wonderful, I can't wait to get there.

Will be staying at the GF Oct 7-11 2007 as part of a land-sea package. I know we get a standard room but is there any request that we should make re: the room before we get there? When are the reservations supposed to be done on the rooms?

Welcome home Lives4disney!!!!

I'm so happy that your stay was wonderful at the GF. I am happy to hear that the great CM's are still working their wonders. They sure do feel like an extended family to us, and can't wait to see them again!!

I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures, so please post!

Kelly, welcome back and I am so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay!!!

Great pictures Kelly. Your boys are adorable.

Kelly, fabulous pix! I am so glad you and Channing both had such a great time! I see all the pictures and hear about your trips, and I get even more psyched for our trip! I cannot believe we will be there Sunday!
I hope to see the new decor in person, I like the posted pictures though. It may not be opulent, but there is a real muted elegance. My house is really anti Victorian, so maybe I like it because it is such a different look than the one I live in. We have decorated with really deep, rich colors, not light pastels.

I don't think anyone really knows when the renovations will be complete, but I think it's generally agreed that they will still be working on it in Oct. So, if you prefer the new look, request a renovated building; if you would like one of the old rooms, request that. Otherwise, your requests for room location will depend on where you would like to be in relation to the pools, boat dock, Gasparilla's or main building. I also like to request "upper floor", because I like to look down on the grounds. I don't think you can hardly go wrong, whatever building you end up in, there are good points for all of them.

OK, here's some pictures. I take bad pictures in more ways than one, haha, so I didn't realize how bad they were til now when I just looked at them. I look bad & old and untan and fat in most. So.....had to eliminate a lot of my pictures from public viewing. These are the best and that doesn't say much.

Here's the day we arrived at GF....July 1. DD and DH's bday.

Royal Palm Club 4th floor lounge......Why I didn't take room pics, I don't know. I never think of it til it's time to leave and the room is a mess. At that time, I always take the view pictures. Here's the lounge.

Here's the 3rd floor - just off the concierge desk area where they have game tables. DH and DDs are playing checkers.

Here are the "new" pretty turndown chocolates and a cute thing they did with some bday balloons at turndown.....

More in the next post.

More pictures....

Here's the cute bday treat plate I ordered for DH to arrive soon after we checked in. Of course I didn't think to photo it until 1/2 the goodies had been devoured. There were 10 strawberry tuxes and 10 little truffles w/ the white chocolate Goofy. Cute & really yummy.

Here's the birthday cake.....

We must have hit 1900 on a bad night. I wasn't impressed with the food or the characters this time. There were so many awful and crabby kids, too. Ugh. :sad2: I think I would have much much much preferred Citricos or should have tried Narcoossees. I don't care for 1900 anymore. I think I am so over the character buffet thing. I do it for my girls, but I think they are done with it at this point. So loud, so many broken dishes and kids falling out of their seats & screaming. I am putting that part of my life behind me, hahaha.

OK, since I look like I have had way too much to drink in that 1900 PF picture - and I didn't drink anything but Diet Coke BTW.....here's a decent pic of DH and I at LTT. Another one I am so over.

IMGP6864.jpg

I wish I had more good GF pictures like Kelly did!!! I am just not a camera person & don't think of taking the pictures like I should.

I have some good YC room pics and view pics, but I know this isn't the place.

Happy travels!!

Lives4Disney :)

Great pictures, Channing. Yep, your son is just "too cool" for words in that photo! Where did Lucy get her hair braided? The Tink cake is gorgeous. Dare I ask how much that set you back?

And, OT, they are opening an American Girl Bistro here in 4 weeks, so you'll have to bring them and come visit!

ETA: we weren't very impressed with LTT last Sept before MNSSP. We are trying 1900 PF for b'fast this trip again (didn't last year) as the kids loved Alice and the Mad Hatter (and still love all the Pooh characters).

Thanks for posting your pics, Kelly and Channing! Looks like another great stay for both of you - can't wait to get back there myself in December!

(Channing - I'd love to see your YC pics, as we switched our reservation to there for our quick Sept. trip. If you end up posting them somewhere, or care to share them with me, let me know!)

Denise, thanks! AG Bistro!! That sounds neat. Haven't heard of that. Once in a blue moon Grandma flies in from AZ and takes the girls to the AG store in Chicago & they get their "fix"....

That cake was the 10 incher....triple layered chocolate with the fresh strawberry & custard filling & buttercream icing. I gagged at the $70 price tag. Oh well. It's Disney.:sad2: I went thru such a hassle trying to order the cake at all, when she told me how much I was almost relieved she didn't say $200, LOL. We wound up sharing chunks of it with concierge CMs and then even left 1/2 in the fridge when we checked out.

Lindsay, I will post my YC pics in the next post.....why not.....it's late at night....

That's not bad for the cake. Did that price include the chocolate Tink, or was she extra? Was the cake good this time (not like the Mickey one)?

AG Bistro has a full service store, doll hospital, and cafe for lunch/brunch/dinner. They also do AG b'day parties. It just doesn't have the show. They are opening one here and in Dallas.

Denise, that $70 was for the whole thing.

Here's the YC pics.....if somebody doesn't like it they don't have to look.

That's an IMPRESSIVE view for GV. What did you request to get that? Room looks really nice!

Denise, I forgot about the cake - it was GOOD this time. I figured I'd take a chance and if it wasn't I'd get my money back. Twice bad and there's something wrong, but it was good. Very yummy and gooey. The strawberries were fresh and lots, too.

Lucy got her hair done at Ivy Trellis. I told DH it would be $20 (thinking like a hair wrap, but it was $55 (oops) and then the tip too:goodvibes ) but she loved it & the lady that did it was so nice and funny and it is still in her hair now. Perfect summer swim "do"

Welllllll.....I requested "Gazebo View".....when we checked in the CM already had our room keys printed and we were assigned a room - NOT that room. I asked what the view was and was told the Admiral pool. Uh uh.....I asked if the gazebo view was available and he said in a confused way, "no'....then I asked could I pay to upgrade to WV? He didn't know how to do that, so a manager came over and got me gazebo view. The thing is, we were on the end of the building closest to the water otherwise our view would have been more garden gazebo. I had had this same view on prior stays but on the 1st floor. THis was 3rd floor and right near the elevator and the exit near the pier. I would def request this exact room next stay.

Why they just didn't give me this room to begin with I don't know. :confused3 I don't think room assigners pay much heed to requests at all.

the room was really nice. It seemed roomier than the GF's rooms. The bathroom area was in an alcove that opened up and just seemed large. The entrance had that dresser and the window spanned the whole balcony - which was also large. Great room.

That is a great view, Channing! That is definitely where I want to be for our std. view - I have seen other pics of rooms near that gazebo, and that area is so pretty. Do you remember the room #?

Thanks for posting - now back to your regularly scheduled GF posts...:goodvibes
