Beautiful pictures, thanks for posting them. That is the view I want! I wonder why the UG has the best rooms facing the other side of the hotel, the castle is what it's all about! I'll email IPO about our changes...I've been following closely about all the recent problems with IPO, keeping my fingers crossed for a little magic from them.

This room (4405) and several others - 4401 thru about 4409 and also 3301 thru 3309 have this great castle view, then there is a bend in the hallway and the rest have courtyard, garden & pool views. The other side of the main building has a few rooms with waterfall pool views, monorail and Poly views. All the views are very pretty, but there is something extra special about that castle view & watching Wishes from the balcony. These castle view rooms are above Gasparillas and the marina. Good luck!:) I have been lucky with this MK view every trip - except when we were upgraded to the Walt Disney Suite, LOL!! :thumbsup2 But who cares at that point??!!!:rotfl:

Happy planning! The Grand Floridian is the best Disney resort and the CMs in the RPC concierge and lounge are awesome.:goodvibes

Channing, very similar view, mine from 4021 turret room. except I think your camera is WAY better than mine! :rotfl2: and I'm not in line with the marina, but the pool. still pretty though!pixiedust:

Heatherlynn, you had a BEAUTIFUL view!! I am trying to picture WHERE turret room 4021 is??

Is it across from the lounge?:confused3 Past those small tables and chairs by the windows??:confused3

I don't think we had a castle view from the walt suite and your view kind of looks like what we saw - the pool and fountain but you seem to be higher up, lol, even though it's the same floor.

It is the first alcove you approach around the bend and it has it's own little entryway away from the other rooms. :goodvibes We didn't have Heatherlynn's room (they were all occupied during our stay) but the entry looked the same as our's facing the front of the resort:

channing,

we were on teh fifth floor above the lounge, when you take a left off teh elevators and go around teh front and pass the huge windows facing the castle, we were the first room on the left. it is the turrent that you see if you are standing on the beach or by the queiet pool in that area and look up. we LOVED it!

I have always wanted to stay at the GF and we have finally taken the plunge and just booked a GV for 06/21-06/28 :thumbsup2

Any tips on building / room requests, we are travelling with DD4 & DS10

Can anyone answer my question?

The FAQ says no reservations can be made for the Garden View Tea, but I called and got a reservation and a time. Did I book the wrong place?

You can make reservations for the Garden View Tearoom, so I'm sure you're all set! :goodvibes

Actually, I had the same thing happen to me...the IPO finally emailed me back about my second email (that had gotten through) and emailed me with this address: WDW.GF.Planning@disney.com with periods between WDW, GF, and Planning.

Just an FYI for all you CL GF'ers - I attempted to send an e-mail to the WDWGFPLANNING@disney.com e-mail address this morning, and it instantly bounced back as reported. I tried it again with the above e-mail address (with the periods between), and it went through just fine. I just got a reponse back, too, and it also came from the new e-mail address with the periods inbetween. Looks like the GF IPO has a new e-mail address!

Someone had questioned about being upgraded....my in laws were upgraded to concierge in the main building...they were very happy and loved the "fancy food" so much so they missed our wedding ceremony at Sunset Pointe! :) Long story...
We were upgraded from garden to lagoon view and we still saw the castle off to our right...in Boca Chica 4th floor.
Was just at Disney for a short trip for DD10 bday..stayed at POP...but had to visit GF....the feeling you get when you walk in the main building...serene, breath taking.
My kids will be 11 and 14 next trip...having stayed at GF...and want to stay somewhere "less fancy"...ugh!!! I knew I shouldn't have taken DD to POP!! lol

Have fun GF planning!!

Does anyone have pix of the grand's suites, particularly the everglades and cape coral suites? Also, does anyone know the best way to check availability? I'm assuming I should call since the descriptions online are very vague. We are currently in a honeymoon room for our vow renewal and have the rest of the family taking up the remaining deluxe concierge rooms, but I like the idea of having the patio for entertaining, if not this trip, then maybe the next.

Thanks!

Lisa

Hi everybody! My dad and I have decided to do one day at Discovery Cove during our vacation.\. Anyone know the price of cab fare from GF to DC or have any suggestions for other transportation options?

TIA

The Lynx public bus runs from International Drive (actually, right outside seaworld), to the TTC and vice versa. It's either the number 8 or 50, I can't remember which, as we had to get the 2 of them! But it will be a whole lot cheaper than a taxi, as in $70 cheaper! :thumbsup2

I have some photos of the Alice and Floral themes, but don't know how to post them here. Sorry! If I figure it out, I'll post them.
