There is a table underneath the desk that does roll out.

This is my first time posting on these boards and I am a huge Grand Floridian fan. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the posts from all of you. I am very envious that so many of you get to visit Disney and the GF more than once a year. I am lucky enough to go once a year with my best friend (my husband is not a Disney fan, unfortunately - but he is very good about letting me go). Last year we decided to splurge and stayed at the RPC in a deluxe room. It was located across from the lounge and the view was very nice - the beach and lagoon. Once you stay in the main building, there is no going back for us. We are scheduled to arrive at the GF Jan 12th for one week. Can anyone tell me if the views are any different in the deluxe rooms. Should we try to request a certain room? Thanks for your help and keep posting about your wonderful stays at the GF!:yay:

Hey all,

I decided to start packing today, since it's getting chilly here and I don't think that I will be needing my summery clothes anymore.

Last year when we had our fabulous upgrade to the Roy Disney Suite, the toilitries were H2O Spa products (green marine shampoo, and white marine conditioner). Most of the pictures I have seen of the toilitries are for H20 aquatics products (blue shampoo), but I haven't seen any from GF.

Does anyone know if the GF supplies the Spa line in all of the rooms? We are going to be staying in a MK view room this trip, if that helps. I use the Spa products here at home, and am going to leave my giant bottles at home if I can just get them at the resort.

TIA!

Amy

The GF still has the H2O Spa products! They are the only resort that has the Spa line. Have a great trip!:)

I think it's either a courtyard view or the view that you had. There aren't any deluxe rooms w/MK view. I know there are deluxe rooms right off the kids area of the lounge. Those have courtyard pool views. OH, ya, I agree about the main building thing. ;) We love RPC - it's wonderful. :wizard:

- Ya, Princesses is right. GF is special in that it has the green H2O spa products. I really liked the blue aquatics we had at the YC, too. The H2O toiletries are soooo much better than the products of the past. Have fun packing! I hate to do it, but it always gets me in the vacation mood.:thumbsup2

Yea! I knew you all would know the answer. I am glad that is one less thing that I have to pack, as packing is not really my favorite activity either, but it does get me a little more excited (it that is possible)!

Channing, we have one night at Beach Club since we wanted to add a day to the end of our trip and GF was completely full, so I guess I will get to try out the other line as well.

tete, I just use the shampoo and conditioner, really, so I don't know the answer for you. I wouldn't call the shampoo a cucumber scent, though. It isn't really scented, IMHO. I just think it makes my hair smell really, really clean. And it really helps with the frizz. My stylist says she can see a huge difference in how hwalthy my hair is since I have been using it (in a good way!). HTH.

Here is a picture of the H2O spa products from our GF trip in July:

Nice pic :)

The shampoo is H2O Spa Sea Marine Revitalizing Shampoo - they sell it on the H20 web site.

The name of the conditioner escapes me - although I apt to think it must be related to the Sea Marine Product Line.

The lotion is H20 Spa's Hydrating Body Butter.

The green bar of bath soap, was smooth on one side and had "massaging" nubs  on the other - I could not find those bars on the H20 website.

No worries of running short of toiletries as a call to housekeeping has always brought any extras we might have needed. :thumbsup2

Does anyone have a favorite Grand Floridian Restaurant they enjoy dining at??? For our upcoming trip, DW and myself, I'm trying to decide between Citricos and Narcoosees (or both). I've already made some ADRs, like at Cali Grill, Grand Tea, etc...and am trying to narrow down the choices - there are soooooo many good ones. :o)

If you have a preference between Citricos or Narcoosees, please feel free to share your opinion and favorite dish or dishes.

Thanks.

I was talking today with a CM at the CRO regarding adding a night to our upcoming GF reservation. In the past the CM's made no mention of the renovations going on - at least when I called - this time he mentioned that there may be carpet being replaced, construction noise, etc... until Dec. 21st.

I jokingly said that it was okay and I would understand it if due to the renovations they would have to move us to the Roy Disney Suite :rolleyes1 - the CM got a kick out of that one - hey I can dream... :wizard:

Perhaps Dec. 21st is the target date for completion of the "soft" renovations going on at GF? Has anyone else heard this information?

What type of room are you booked for? Did the CM mean the main building or some of the outer buildings. When are you scheduled to go. We go mid November and I am starting to get a little nervous about it. This will be our first and probably only trip ever to GF and already our checkin day is completely booked, so I am nervous we will get an awful view like a rooftop or something. I know, I know it is the GF and we will be in Disney, but I am holding my breath about spending twice as much as we usually spend on this vacation. I am watching any thread with updates on the renovations. I don't care if we get a renovated room or and older room since we have never been in either, but I think I will be upset if the main building is being worked on. I suppose we may not get to see the Gingerbread house or the Christmas tree if they are working on the main building. :sad1:

Hi,
The CM did not mention any specific buildings, but I believe it is meant to be a target date for all work to be completed - of course from reading the boards those dates change all the time.

I too had hoped that they would be finished by our upcoming trip, that starts on Nov. 25th for 7 nights. We are booked into a GV room to be assigned with a request for king bed. Last year our GV room included a nice view of the Marina - I believe we were in the Sago Cay building #5.

I know the Ginger Bread House goes up in November so it should be up or if its not up yet you may even get to watch the Disney Pastry Chefs construct it. :)

The CM mentioned that the extent of refurbishment would be some construction noise (moving furniture, pulling up carpet, putting down new carpet) and the potential to see some workers tearing up carpet.

This refurbishment, is more like a refreshment of the rooms and hall ways.

I believe you would be happy in either a "new" or "old" room - last year was our first stay at the GF and we would be happy to be in the same room, same view, same service, etc...

It truly is a beautiful resort and the landscaping, flower arrangements, and details are amazing - if it was just "the room" that cost so much we would likely stay elsewhere, but for us the GF is an experience in itself.

Enjoy your stay and remember to let us know how it was! :wizard:

Put my vote in for Narcoossee...It is my DH and I favorite restaurant at WDW! They are consistant with the quality of food and we never leave hungry! The drinks are fabulous and you can see the EWP from either your seat or the patio. Check out both menus and see what you might like best!

The IPO CM I talked with last week said the main building rooms are completed but the RPC suites won't be started on until early next year. So if you are staying in a regular or deluxe RPC room, you will have a beautiful new room. Now if you're booked into the Roy Disney Suite, I guess you will be slumming it!:rotfl2:

And no worries about the tree and gingerbread house...you will love the GF!

Ok, I have the number for Private Dining from a few pages ago but I have a question about what to order. I have seen mention of cakes and the tuxedo strawberries. Do you know if they will do a cookie cake or an assortment of cookies? My husbands b'day is our departure day. I won't do anything that day but thought I might do something the day before or our arrival day. My thinking is that we could take cookies with us as a snack in the parks or for the ride home.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Dlo, here is a cookie platter that they delivered to DD on her bday. This was actually a freebie - believe it or not - so I have no idea about the cost or other cookie options, but I know they have yummy choc chip, oatmeal, pb, and sugar cookies in the lounges so I would think they could do something with any of those cookies, too. These pictured were good, too. Mostly butter cookies with different variations. :)

Hi,

I currently have a AAA room only res for our upcoming GF trip, does one of our resident experts know if it is possible to add a MYW and Dining Package popcorn:: to an already booked AAA discounted room only reservation?

Figured I would ask the experts before calling the CRO.

Thanks

Edit - found my answer at the DDP FAQ Sticky - sometimes permitted, but only when booking through a AAA travel agent, but not when booking directly with Disney - oh well.
