One of my friends sent some pictures to my cell phone of the brand new Outer Rim Lounge and she also sent me a picture of the new Contempo Cafe sign which they just put up.

I forgot to mention she also told me in a text message that in a few weeks they will be adding a brand new Outer Rim Lounge sign, so if anyone will be going to the Contemporary soon should be on the look out for it.

I just happened to get another picture sent to me and this time it's the sign mentioning that the Sundries store is closed and until it re-opens as the Fantasia Market, it lists where their items are being sold around the Contemporary.

In the Fantasia store they are selling the newspapers, magazines, and tobaco products.

In the Bay View Gifts store they are selling the foods, candy, and liquor.

I agree 100% and once they open the Fantasia Market on the 4th floor, that means all the construction happening there over the past 3 years will officially be finished.

I would call back and change the request to a "QUIET ROOM". I have always had very good luck with this type of request. The room assignors are pretty good about putting you in a remote room, away from elevators, maid service areas, rooms that are subject to outside noise, etc. If you request a "non water" room, you are REALLY limiting them, as most of the garden wing, garden view rooms have a view of SOME sort of water, be it Bay Lake, the canal, or the pool. The won't know what to do if you request that.

The problem with the Garden Wing, Garden View rooms is that they are ALL the wing rooms, EXCEPT for the ones fronting the parking lot (those are Garden Wing, Standard View rooms, a cheaper booking category). Your room could face: Bay Lake, the canal, the pool, or a little courtyard.

By requesting a "Quiet Room", you will probably be put facing the large courtyard, or Bay Lake. However, be aware that these rooms are at the ends of the Wing, and require a longer walk to the tower. But, if quiet is really that important to you, it should not be a problem.

i don't mind a water view room, just not the ones facing the lagoon...always feel like a bit of an intruder while on the boat over to the MK from the WL...not sure the occupants know how well u can see into the rooms.

did find some info in the UG as to selecting a room-they have it broken down by room #, need to go back & find the resort layout (believe i saw it somewhere here?) to see where the mentioned rooms r located.

I believe you meant to say people faxing their requests and if so I read that WDW does not accept those anymore when it comes to room requests.

I didn't make it out back - I was running to the MK to get the parade photos/video, and needed to do Kim Possible too before I left. But I will get to that this week, hopefully I can start adding photos to my site again in the next few days (my Joomla is having problems).

I liked the sundries shop too, and thank you! The Contemporary has changed so much in the past couple of years.

Rumor is that Chef Mickey's will also get a new sign. Seems like I remember someone posting that builidng permits had recently been filed for new signs at Contempo, Outer Rim, and CM's.

I guess that makes sense since everything else around there has been getting something new, so I can't wait to see it.

I was at the Contemporary today and I gotta say I'm a little disappointed with the Outer Rim. I used to enjoy going there to watch games on the TV's, but not anymore. The bar is about a third the size it used to be, and there is only one small TV behind the bar, and no others around the sitting area. I figured it was going to be smaller than it was given the size of the Tempo, but it was a bit of a let down. Outer Rim was probably my favorite bar on property, but now there is nothing special about it. Just my two cents...

Oh and there was no sign up for it yet, and naturally I didnt have my camera so I dont have any pics to share
