Got our Concierge level resses for May 2009. We are doing a heckuva trip then. First we do the Poly for 7 days in April and then off to a 4 day Disney Cruise and then back to WDW for 10 more days at the Contemporary. This is the trip of a lifetime and we are so excited. We LOVE:lovestruc the Contemporary, have not been there since the refurbs, so we are anxious to see what they have done. Nothing better than a MK view from the highest floor to watch the fireworks and enjoy all the views of the lagoon and the GF and Poly. It is spectacular up there. I cannor wait to try the new restaurant, although I had a fondness for the Concourse Steakhouse. We won't be doing thios kind of a trip again for a long, long time, so we are really pulling out all the stops for it.
We try to get to WDW once a year for a couple of weeks, but decided to just do it up this next trip. I have never been on any kind of cruise and so I am excited and a bit nervous. Nervous because we will be out there in all that water and excited because I have heard such great things about the Disney Cruises.
Can't wait!:banana::dance3: party: :jumping1: :flower1: :mickeyjum :mickeyjum :mickeyjum
Congragulations and have a great time. :thumbsup2

OMG. That is one monster trip right there.  I hope you have an AMAZING time!!!! And don't be nervous about the cruise. My first cruise was a 7 night DCL and I had an amazing time. Have all the fun in the world!

:yay:
We'll be there at the same time!!
We are booked December 5-13, 2009; Atrium Club, MK View!
I feel a bit crazy being booked a year ahead, but I figure that's more time to peruse the boards and get great ideas! (And then save up for those ideas!! :lmao: )

~Kimber

We are booked! I called this morning. Standard Room CL (14th floor?) MK View requested for December 3-13, 2009. :yay: CRO said requests are usually given out first come, first serve so try to check in early am. We probably won't get in until about noon but even if we get the bay lake view, it's all good. Bay Lake is lovely and we can watch some wacky parasailers.

This thread has been such a wealth of information for decisions. Thanks for everyone who posted. :thumbsup2

If anyone has stayed Standard Room CL and has any info or tips, I'd be glad to read them! :worship:

How cool! It's nice to know they'll be another DISer about. I look for LGMH on our last trip and didn't see one the whole time.

I always book about a year out. It gets the ball rolling :goodvibes Plus I like plenty of time to pay for the trip, look for codes, plan what days for what parks, special activities, dining.....yeah, I can fill the time. :lmao:

I am sure I will be able find out the answer this Saturday, however for anyone who has been to the Contempo Cafe are they still selling the Mickey Ice Cream bars?

CR Fan: I soon as I read your post, I went down to Contempo to check. There are not any Mickey Ice Cream Bars at Cotempo. There's a refridge with the standard milk, orange juice, salads, drinks, etc. but no freezer for ice cream. It's surprising as I believe Tempo Grab and Go did have freezers for the ice cream bars and other frozen treats. Any more questions about the CR? - I'll be here until the 14th.

We requested a higher floor for our trip next week. What is the highest available where you can still see all the action going on below (Chef Mickey's, monorail, etc.)?

The 12th floor is the highest floor that you can still see the action below. Keep in mind that the 12th floor is Concierge level. So if you're not staying concierge, then the highest floor is the 11th. For those staying 14th floor Concierge level, they do not have a view of the lower floors as it is enclosed.

Have a great time!!

Thank you for answering my question and maybe I will see on the 13th since we are arriving there this Saturday. That is also surprising because the Food & Fun Center and the Tempo Grab & Go did sell the Mickey Bars. Oh well at least they are sold at the parks and the other Resorts.

i happened to look day before yesterday and there was a freezer in front of where the cold items are stocked with ice cream and mickey bars were one of them since that is what I wanted and needed...lol My family has been here since the 5th and we leave Friday :O( I am on the 12th floor and they are on the 14th. All in all it is going well. Been coming down this time of year for the past decade or more and this time it is the most crowded I have ever seen. The very merry on the 7th was nutty. Everyone keeps commenting on how bad the economy is but yet everything here is full. Still always better to be HERE than AT WORK....hahahaha

Thank you for that information and enjoy the rest of your trip.

How in the world did I miss it? :crazy2: I'll have to check again becasue I do like them. You're right about the crowds. I've been coming this same week for about twenty years and this is the worse in terms of crowds by far. We went to MVMCP last night and it was a mad house! I don't think we'll do the party anymore - not worth it.

I found the freezer - don't know how I missed it yesterday. It's a small blue freezer which is located by the CM access door to the fridge that contains the drinks, salads, etc. :sad2:

Thank you for posting that and just one more question. I read that their salads are now made to order, so does that mean they no longer sell other types of pre-made salads in the fridges like they did at the Food & Fun Center and the Tempo Grab & Go. Unless they still have pre-made salads but they are smaller like the ones at the fridges in Captin Cook's.

I'm a little confused. I am also booked for next year 2009. I asked for mk view. I thought I was paying extra for the view and I would get mk view at check in? I will be very disapointed if I didn't get the mk view. Could someone please clarify for me. :confused3

If you made a reservation for the Magic Kingdom View then that's what you should be getting. Your confirmation should say Tower Theme Park View to prove that's the reservation you made.

If I'm correct, the CL level (12th floor) can be either bay lake view or mk view. You can request a side, but can't pay for a certain one. If you booked a tower mk room though, that is definitely what you will get. It will just be on the 11th floor or below. Hope this helps.

12th Floor Atrium Club Level you can book a specific view as you can for any floor below 12. 14th floor you cannot, it's request only. Also from what I understand we could get bumped to 12th floor Bay Lake view if the rooms on 14 book up before we arrive. We are adjusting our leave time to get there early. ;)

Starting in Janurary is when you can now make a reservation for either the Magic Kingdom View or Bay Lake View on the Atrium Club 12th floor, so until then you could end up with either view when you check-in. For example this Saturday when my family arrive there were not sure what view we will get, so all we know is that our room will be on the 12th floor and nothing more.
