Oh I didn't realize it was a lunch type of place. Is there a store located at the hotel? (milk, bread, wine beer etc)

I have a quick question about the resort. If I have booked a theme park view, could I be on a low floor and not actually be able to see MK? I know that sounds stupid of me, but I haven't done any research on it so bear with me. I have just one night booked and I really was hoping to be able to see Wishes from my balcony. If I get a lower room and can't see well, is there a place to go up to view the fireworks besides the restaurant( I am assuming without a reseration I would be allowed up there). Thanks!

The lowest you could be with a MK view is the 6th floor.

Considering that you'll be fine.

My family and I have had a Magic Kingdom view as low as the 6th floor and as high as the 14th floor. Personally I thought the view did not seem any different on the 6th floor, so incase your room is on that floor you should have nothing to worry about.

Just to be clear (I don't disagree with CR4L or NJRRK), this assumption is inaccurate. There are, however, plenty of other places at the CR to view the fireworks. The fourth floor north end has an outside viewing balcony (right under the monorail) and there are outside stair landing areas as well.

and there are outside stair landing areas as well.

Be careful about using the outside stairs in the Tower for fireworks viewing (or going out on them at all) becasue the doors automatically lock. Depending on the floor you're on, you may have a long walk back down to the 4th floor.

I say the best thing to do is to have someone with you at the time. Incase the doors lock like you said, that person can be there to open them from the other side.

I agree - always test any outside door to see if it locks. It isn't like you can hitch-hike onto the monorail. The door, however, has not been locked any of the times I have used it.

Thanks everyone. I hope we'll get a higher floor, but really won't stress about it.

Tarheel, you'll be fine if you end up on the 6th floor. You can't miss Wishes from any balcony on the MK side of the Tower, no matter how high or low. I've watched it the last 5 nights from the 14th floor and they're piping the audio in over outside speakers so you'll hear the show from your balcony as well as see it. The speakers seem to be somewhere in the trees in front of the hotel, so you may be able to hear it better on the lower floors.

Have you heard anything about The Wave having a soft opening on June 1st, before their official opening on June 30th? Someone heard that might happen so obviously it's just a rumour.

We only heard about the one week between the closing of the Steakhouse and the opening of the Wave. DH did ask at Guest Services after seeing your post and was told June 30 as the opening date, but the CM didn't sound very sure.

The Sundries store sells millk (half gallons), juice, wine, beer, liquor (in pints), snack food, and candy, but very little in the way of groceries. If you want bread for making sandwiches, you might want to come up with an alternative plan.

Thanks for that information. :thumbsup2

So what are the must do things while staying at the CR? Is it worth it to order the monorail chocolate? Or is there any other special things to order that you can send to someone staying with your group.
Has anyone used any of the water sports? Where are the best photo opportunites? (in my case with the kids).

Ok, this is a little weird, but since WL has VWL attached to it, there are more grocery items in the WL gift shop. You may want to consider wegoshop or another or the web based grocery delivery places. Disney also has direct grocery delivery, but do not know how available it may be for non-DVC resorts.

Quick question. Have people been able to get the free dining plan while staying in the MK view rooms? I was told it was unavailble for my room last Septemebr, but I think that was because I booked through AAA.
