The (New) Disney Carousel Inn

I wonder why I haven't gotten the survey?
All this is very interesting!

Hi Jamie! :welcome:

I'm certainly in favor of a new, themed Disney hotel (more photo opportunities!). It took Disney years after purchasing the property to really Disney-fy the Paradise Pier as much as possible, so they may wait years before doing anything significant with the Carousel.

I've never looked at the Carousel's property -- are there a lot of rooms? I would imagine it would have to be expanded a bit, if Disney ever decides to do something with it.

A new hotel -- if they actually use that property as a hotel and don't raze it -- implies, to me, that they are going to expand something in one or both of the parks too. A new land, some new rides, or whatever. They probably feel that they will need another hotel if they add more things and draw more people to DLR.

I just took the survey. It was interesting. I wish there had been a section for comments.

Also, if they prices they had listed in the scenarios were actual prices, ($335 for DLH and $248 for PP) I would stay onsite every time.

The rates are actually lower.....

You get what you pay for. Stayed there this weekend. I'm usually pretty easy to please (or perhaps hard to disappoint, or maybe I like to think I'm that way) and maybe the extra parking (forced valet) and internet fee soured me, but I was underwhelmed. As far as budget hotels/motels go, I've stayed at three on Harbor and this one ranks a very distant third for me.

I can make a lot of excuses for this motel though being what it is. The staff was friendly at least. I think my main problem is that I had too high of expectations for it when in reality it's really just a bed close to the park. You can't beat the location, but I'd rather walk and stay somewhere else next time.

I am sorry, but in looking at maps of the area I don't see where the hotel and the Pumbaa lot connect. Does anyone have a nifty map with the areas highlighted that can assist me?

Has anyone stayed here recently...? Is it still the same as ever despite the purchase? We are staying there over the 4th. :)

That was posted last night, its a recent review.

I may have misquoted the connection to Puumba. I thought I had read that D owns the land behind the hotel.

This site says they brokered the sale of the two lots adjacent to Pumba to Disney in 2014Capture.JPG

So, this would be the combined land for the Pumbaa lot and the two parcels in question plus the new Carousel acquisition.
