Ok folks...I need some help. You were all so helpful the last time I asked to advice on park sandals but now I need to know what the definitive answer is...

What is the BEST sandal for wearing at all four main themeparks (not water parks) ALL DAY with plenty of walking???

Chaco
Keen
Teva
Merrell
Other-not Crocs

You'll notice I left off CROCS. I already have a pair of Crocs that I will be bringing with me to wear, but I have used them the last two years in the parks and I am looking for something with a little more arch support.

I have ultra high arches and do very well with Birkenstocks. Break them in first, of course, and you'll have plenty of support. I wear my Birks around the house because they are more comfortable than going barefoot for me.

Took my Teva's and my favorite Avia sneakers last Sept. Started in the Teva's and 3rd day switched to sneakers since we were at Epcot and I knew my feet wouldn't get wet. They were *ok*, but I went back to the Teva's for rest of our trip- love, love, love my Teva's!!! We do a lot of walking too (our kids are real troopers!)- our last day in MK was a 12 hour one with MNSSHP and no breaks back to the resort- not one sore spot the whole day :thumbsup2

I love my Teva's! I've never gotten any blisters on my feet or had to worry if they got wet wearing them in the parks. I'm replacing my five year old Teva's before our next trip, not because they've worn out, but because I'm ready for a new pattern!

Last time we went, I actually quit wearing my Crocs (my shins were hurting) and switched to my Converse Chuck Taylors. The time before that, I wore my favorite Rockport leather flip-flops.

I think the key is probably having a well-broken-in pair of shoes.

I voted other b/c I got a pair of sandals froma Bass outlet about 10 yrs ago that are AWESOME!! Hands down they are the most comfortable thing I've ever put on my feet.

My vote is for Teva's as well. I take 2 pairs of Teva's and a pair of croc's. The Teva's get rotated and the croc's are used to walk around the resort or to the pool. I love my crocs but man do they make my feet sweat and then they get slippery.

TEVAS!!! But the slightly more expensive ones with the arch support. Comfortable all day long, and, bonus, they dry out quickly after Kali River Rapids! I like my crocs but I find they aren't all that comfortable all day and with all that walking.

Patty (I'll be wearing my Tevas in WDW in 15 days!):yay:

(My son puts in a vote for Ecco sandals...but you'll pay big money for those!)

Any pair of broken in sneakers are good for me, but then again, I could walk around WDW in worn out topsiders for a week without a problem.:)

I seriously wear those $2.50 Old Navy flip flops, and I'm fine!

I voted for Teva. Last year I wore the Teva Mush flip flops and they were wonderful! The only problem I had at times were people stepping on the back of them. Back off people! ;)

Wow, lots of rsponses so far. Thanks everyone. Seems like Tevas are the overwhelming top choice right now. I'll keep checking, but thanks for all of the information!

I voted Other because I love my Rykas. I was able to trek thru the parks last August without any issues, and with my high instep, this rarely happens. I usually avoid sandals for parks but no more!

I switch between Tevas (Pretty Rugged Nylon -- they have better arch support than the leather) and Ryka sneakers.

I luvvvv my Tevas. I have extremely weak ankles and very low arches, so I'm practically in agony after a day of walking. If I tried to wear Crocs or anything like that, I'd be crippled for life.

TEVAS! I love mine, and wear them most days during the Summer. Can hardly tell I even have them on, and I've never gotten a blister from them. My husband and DS (10) both have Tevas also (and like them). Very comfy no matter how much walking you do, and they are absolutely wonderful for rainy days or at the waterparks too.

My second favorite shoes/sandals are my Simple 'Strappies'. Unfortunately, Simple has discountinued that specific style, so you may not be able to find them for sale any more. But I am considering buying a second, different style of shoes from Simple before our next trip... as they all sappear to be very well made shoes, are wonderfully comfy, and look more stylish than Tevas.

I really like Tevas! And, I really could use a new pair!:rotfl: Anyone know of any sales???

Check out TravelCountry.com for sales on sandals. I found some Keen sandals there for only $41, normally over $80! I will look for some tevas as well and see what I can find.
