I'm considering going here for a vacation with my girlfriend and I was wondering if the rooms have air conditioning because everywhere I look I see rooms with a fan. Anyone? Thanks.
They have central a/c so it is a whisper quiet unit. No noise and they work perfectly

Hi everyone! I literally just got back to work - my flight landed less than an hour ago.

Just wanted to drop a brief note.

CSR was nice, but it won't be "my" resort. There was nothing wrong with my stay, (besides those annoying flying bugs connected at their bums- what are those things?????). Anyway, everyone has "their" resort - for most of you it is CSR. But not me. I had a great vacation and like I said, there was nothing wrong, it just not "the one" for me.

My quest to find "my" Disney resort will continue in 135 days!

Thanks for everything!

Hey maine_jennifer...was their a lot of rain when you went. The weather reports for next week (when me and my husband go) looks like a complete wash-out. I was wondering how accurate those reports are? Thanks! ;)

The weather wasn't bad at all, at least in my opnion.

Before I left everyday had isolated or scattered showers. What actually happened was that every day was hot and humid with a brief shower in the afternoon.

Actually, it depended on which park you were at. I was at EPCOT one day when it rained for about 15 minutes. When I met up with a family the next night, they were at Animal Kingdom the same day I was at EPCOT and it didn't rain at AK at all.

I wouldn't worry about the weather too much. Just bring a poncho or buy one if you need one.

Thanks maine_jennifer..I am starting to stress over the weather forecasts waayyy too much! This is our first trip to Disney so I want it to be perfect!:o ;)

I wouldn't worry about the weather. I was there the 2nd week of August and the forecast (on the TV) ALWAYS said thunderstorms for the whole next week for every day, but it never rained for more than 20-30 minutes at once per day (always a little after 12 noon). When it did rain, it was nice because it cooled everything down.

I was there from August 14-30 and the forecast was for rain and thunderstorms EVERY day. It did rain every day but one, but most of them were short and actually cooled the temperature down a little! The rain really never inhibited our activities. We would get as much done in the morning and early afternoon (when it would not rain) and then we would rest or go out to dinner during the rain. Then we went out again for evening activities.

I agree with the other posters ... don't worry about the rain, just bring ponchos and an umbrella. And if it would make you feel better ... have some "indoor" plans ... i.e. DisneyQuest, Wonderworks, Mall at Millenia, etc.

I just love this thread (and CSR)!

My husband and I will be going to CSR for the 2nd time in October. I was wondering if anyone was ever offered a room upgrade at check-in for an extra $X.XX per night? Or is this something I need to ask for? If so, can I get a better deal if I do it at check-in or call ahead? Or maybe there are no "deals" for suites?

We are going to be their for my hubby's b-day and I thought it might be a nice surprise if we had a suite. We got a really great rate. We're doing the FTP for 7 nights/8 days for around $1700 which includes room, park passes, and airfare.

Thanks so much.

Great question! I was just wondering the same thing, mtakac (that's hard to TYPE, much less pronounce ;) ).

What upgrades are available at CSR? I guess they don't have concierge, but are junior suites numerous enough to ask for at the desk at check-in, or should I call now to see? We have a water-view room reserved, what else is there better than that?

Thanks.

This thread is so great!! I have been "lurking" here for a while now, getting info for our Oct trip, and there is so much good stuff to know!! And I also appreciate all the pics and info on Buzz2001's and EpcotFan's sites!!

I have found the answer to most of my questions by reading through the posts, but I am confused about one thing. Where is the hot tub located? For some reason, I thought I read that it was near the Casitas section, but something else I saw made me think it was at the Dig Site?

Thanks again, to everyone who has contributed to this wonderful thread!! Our trip is only 28 days away now and I'm getting soooo excited!!

Hi,
The hot tub is located at the Dig Site. It is in an area surrounded by bushes opposite from the pool. There are some lounge chairs in the hot tub area so it is a nice place to escape and relax.

maine_jennifer- those bugs are our famous "lovebugs". They are only here 2 times a year and stay for about 3 weeks to a month. They are annoying- (getting stuck on cars, won't "shoo" away...). But, they don't bite or sting or anything like that!

Hopefully your next trip won't be during the next lovebug season (I can't ever remember when they are here but it is the same time each year).

I satyed at the CBR last year and liked it. This year we are staying at CSR to try another resort. My question is ... are the cabans (the feel of them) at CSR like the ones at CBR? they look tabout the same in pictures Iv seen. We will be with our two children ages 12 & 3 so I want to be kina clost to the Dig site and not to far from the main building.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike - from pictures I've seen of CBR, the cabana section does look similar. If you are lucky enough to get a room in any of the cabana buildings or ranchos 7b, I think these would meet your needs of being close to the main pool area and a bus stop.

9b - close to main building, bus stop #1 and a short walk to the pool
8a - close to main pool, bus stop #4 and a short walk to the main building
7b - close to main pool, bus stop #4 and a short walk to the main building

9a ad 8b are in between 8a and 9b so depending where your room is located, you could go to either bus stop #1 or #4.

Thanks, epcotfan!! (BTW-I like your Strongbad avatar!)

I know that the bus to Boardwalk has been discontinued, but does the Downtown Disney bus stop at Boardwalk?? If so, does it stop at Boardwalk first or DD (when traveling from CSR to DD)?

Can someone please tell me what the main difference's are between a reg. room and a junior suite at Coronado?:)

A junior suite is like 2 rooms together. If you search this thread for a response by suite disney, she has some pictures on her website of the CSR suites.

We were upgraded to a junior suite on our anniversary weekend.:)
It is two adjoining rooms. One room was a regular room, with a king size bed, the TV armoire, the full bathroom etc...
The other room had a murphy bed in the wall, a TV armoire, a full bathroom, a couple chairs and tables, and a desk with a fax machine. Since there is no bed in there, the room seems really big.
It was great to have 2 bathrooms and I liked having the space to leave the ironing board up!
I'd love to stay in a junior suite again someday but it's difficult (impossible?) to get a special Florida Resident or AP holder rate for the suites.
