TinkerBelle_325: Thanks for the info on the pool. I'm going to make my reservations for CS today!!

Thanks!
Pam

Thanks for starting this FAQ. We are DVC members, but when not using points, we always stay at CSR. We first got introduced to it when we were at WDW about a month beore it opened. We were able to go in and walk around the facilities. Then the next time we went, we were checking into ASM and were offerred an upgrade to CSR. My kids love the Pepper Market, especially the huge calzones.

going to csr in april - does anyone know if they offer the $99 unlimited boat rental

thanks for any help

Thanks Epcotfan! When I called to book my room CRO said that all of the standard rooms were taken and I had to book a water view. I was wondering if that ment they were having a convention that week (first week of June). Also, I hope that doesn't mean CSR will be excluded from codes or AP rates as there are already no standard rooms left??:D

Could be that a large convention is booked in there or people are just grabbing the standard rooms. You can always keep calling back to see if there are any cancellations for standard rooms. :) Last year I got an Amex rate on a standard room at CSR for $94 plus tax. Remember discounts are based on occupancy levels and the season. So for example if everyone is paying rack rate the the majority of rooms are full there is little incentive to offer a discount if they don't have to. This applies not only to CSR but to any WDW hotel.

We've stayed there twice and loved it. Both times we stayed in Cabanas because we liked the tropical beach feel. Since our stays at CSR, we've stayed at YC and BC which is now our favorite. BUT, if I had to stay at a moderate again it would definitely be CSR. We haven't tried POR, but we have stayed at CBR twice. It was nice, but CSR has more to offer for a moderate. Love the Maya Grille! We try to eat there every trip. CSR is a breathtakingly beautiful resort. Nice pool too (but Stormalong Bay has me spoiled).

This year things are a little tight for us so we may have to either not go at all, or if we go we may have to choose CSR. This thread is making me feel better about that option.

We are going to CSR for the first time in March, and I am so thankful for this thread because it is making me feel so much better about my choice of this resort. 2 questions, are the coffee makers minis or full size, and which cabana building is the best? I can't decide between 8A and 9B. My dad who is traveling with us is older and fatigues easily due to heart disease, so I want to be as close to all aminities as possible.

Hi there Crazy Kanga :) I'm so happy this thread has been helpful to you!

As for your questions, I believe the coffee maker is a mini (Epcotfan, can you help me out on this question? Do you know if the coffeemakers are mini or regular sized?)

And for the closest Cabanas, 9B would be my recommendation, as it is a short walk to the Dig Site (Via a bridge that is right in front of Cabanas 9B) and it is also the closest to El Centro of the Cabanas (only a 5 min walk max I would say)

Please keep checking back here as I will be updating often :) and feel free to ask any other questions you have.

Most of all, have a great trip :)

Does anyone think that CSR will be included in the next set of codes that will come out? How often do they include CSR? I would think it wouldn't be that often since it is a convention resort and the rooms would be very limited? Any help on this would be so greatly appreciated. I would like to take advantage of an AP code when they come out to my current reservation here. Thanks!!!:)

DisneyFan I've been asking the same question! To my knowledge all Disney hotels are eligible for discount codes, BUT they are all limited. So I believe that CSR does participate in ALL discounts (where applicable) BUT in limited quantity. That quantity would be especially limited if there were a convention on at CSR.

I'm waiting for codes fot August for my trip because right now we are paying the rack rate. We are staying from Aug 19th to 27th. Because that time period straddles seasons we split our ressie in two (5 nights in regular season and 3 in value)

We aren't dependant on using a code but we are certainly hopeful!

I also believe it is a false misconception that CSR doesn't participate in many discounts. I know several people who have used discounts there. Ask Epcotfan! So don't be too worried, we can all sit around and wait in suspense together ;)

Sorry that I couldn't be too much of a help

Sorry that I couldn't be more of a help to you.

I have also heard of some people getting a code for CSR, but Mary usually does not tell of them on Mousesavers. I guess I will just call when they come out and see if there's a code available for CSR for my timeframe. Rumor has it that the codes for the rest of April through June will come out a week from Monday. I will be crossing my fingers and call as soon as I see one.

Thanks for the help!!:)

There have been many times that CSR has NOT participated in the discounts.:(
We have had to settle on CBR because of this.
Not sure the reasons behind this......but it could be the conventions or that it is the newer of the moderates.
There have been many times that All Star Movies has not been included in discounts for the same reasons.

Let's hope that will not be the case this spring!! We really have our hearts set on CSR for April, but are hoping for a good discount. :) If need be, we will change resorts to get a discount.

>(Epcotfan, can you help me out on this question? Do you know if the coffeemakers are mini or regular sized?)<

They're the mini ones, but they perk very quickly! We've also used them to heat water for Cup-o-soup and hot chocolate.

With regard to discount codes, we used one this past August which was good for all Moderates. Coronado is usually included in the Moderate rate codes.

Hi Everyone,
Magnetic is right. They are mini ones. :) It was nice having it there if needed. They are great for boiling water for tea, etc...
You can see a picture of it here:

The best thing about CSR is that they have hair dryers in the room. Saved me packing one. (As you can see on the vanity I had enough stuff to bring!) :teeth:

Oh forgot to add I uploaded some more video to the site yesterday. There is new footage of the Casitas and a standard room. More to come...just have edit some more. The video just doesn't do justice to the bright colors of the resort.

Thanks for the help. New Question...if we have standard view will we be facing the parking lot. My dad's a very light sleeper and will be very unhappy if there is noise outside the room. When we were at ASMo last year we had a standard view room that faced the dumpster area to Cinema Hall and heard the beep beep beep from the trucks backing up early in the pre dawn hours. I guess my question is which room number in 9B should I request or at least which side of the building? Will getting there right at 3:00 help with the room requesting? :Pinkbounc

Not all standard views are views of the parking lot, some look out onto courtyards, gardens, forests etc... Also the 3pm check in is kinda a joke in my books. We arrive almost every trip between 11am - 1pm and have ALWAYS (*knock on wood*) gotten a room right away. If your dad is a light sleep I suggest faxing a room request 4 days before your arrival.

Send the fax to: Attention: Room Controller

Ask for a standard view room as far away from the parking lot as possible due to your father being a light sleeper. If you go to www.wdwig.com there is a whole section on room requesting.
Good luck!

Just wanted to let all the CSR fans that are going soon, that I booked CSR with a discount code at 102 per night or 115 with tax. Hope everyone gets what they want!!! I guess CSR does participate in codes!!!:)

Tinkerbelle, thanks for the FAQ thread for CS. We are going in August for my brother-in-law wedding. We will be getting there the day after you leave.

Anyway, can you tell me more about the 10% charge at the pepper market? Is that because they have Waiter/Waitress service? And you don't pay the 10% if you take the food to go?

I read something about the pepper market, but i forgot what it said.

Also what ways can you use for a discount for the room? We got a rate of $130 plus thru the wedding, is there anything else besides AP and AMex discounts that I could maybe use?

Thanks for the info. Can't wait for the wedding!!!!

DisneyFan,

Do you mind if I ask how you got that discount? What did you use to get it?

Thanks.

Bonnie.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Bonnie I used a code that was on the Mousesavers.com website. Anyone can use this code. You just have to get it from mousesavers and call cro and tell them you have the code and they will ask you what it is. Simple as that!!:)

I just booked with the code for CSR - I requested Cabanas. We will check out on May 18 - and move over to the Wilderness Lodge Villas...I will be looking for your lime green ribbons.
