We always just follow your directions (WDW signs) and have no problems finding the resort or anything else. There are parking lots throughout the property, close to most of the buildings. I'm sure Buzz might have more precise answers on the directions. Or maybe you could try the WDW website. Have fun on your trip!

Have you tried putting the address in at yahoo maps or mapsco? It will likely be very specific. CSR's address is 1000 W. Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830.

However, my map on my Passporter book has you getting off of World Drive off 192, and taking that to Osceola to Buena Vista.

Hope that helps!

Only drove to CSR one time and I did what hockeybabe stated, used mapquest. But the signs are all over the place. Most of the buildings are close to the parking lots. Casita 2, 4 & 5, cabana 8a & 8b and rancho 6a & 7a

Oh I can't believe it is FINALLY almost here. Thanks Buzz for a great website that has kept my entire family SO excited.

Anyway - we are a grand gathering crew, 3 rooms and put in a request for cabana section when we made the disney reservation. Should I send a fax tomorrow or no??? I keep hearing mixed advice on this. We would like to be close to the main pool and a bus stop so Cabanas 8 would be great but I don't want to be a PIA or set myself up for disappointment. My mother doesn't really have any handicap issues but has poor knees so I hate to be way out in no mans land. We arrive late Friday around 8pm but only a 1 night AP rate then we switch to our free dining packages Saturday for 9 nights. I am thinking if we get left out in the boonies the first night, I can ask to be switched when I reservation switches? Is that possible?

What have you all done? Just curious.

TIA

Thanks Buzz

another question coming from Sis - do they sell diapers at the store there? I am assuming they do but I was just curious.

thanks so so much everyone. I am ready to burst :cool1: :cool1:

That is one thing I am not sure about. Never needed them.

Oh - mark this day down :rotfl2: I stumped Buzz :rotfl:

I am sure they probably do - maybe someone with little tykes can help my sister out. She hates to pack 10 days worth of diapers if she doesn't have to.

I just came back -- I know they sell swim diapers for the pool, but can't recall about regular diapers. I would assume so, though.

They have added some airlines to the list in terms of checking your baggage and getting boarding passes. The current list is:

American, Continental, Delta, Song, jetblue, United, and Ted.

We hadn't known a thing about it and jetblue was not on the list given to us at checkin (a lot of material in the folder we were given was dated August -- guess they had extras left over!). However, midweek we had a new one left on our table and were thrilled to see that it was now offered for Jetblue. It worked out great, being able to return our rental car, lift only the carryon bags out and stroll up to security!

Note: when we first arrived at 7 am, their computers were down, and they thought it would be at least an hour before they were back up. We went in to have breakfast, and fortunately when we came out at 7:30 they were back up and running. It went very smoothly though and the whole process took 2-3 minutes. Have your photo ids ready, of course.

I can't believe it but we are booked for CSR 12/22-1/1 and I am so excited! This is my 3 year old granddaughter's very first visit to WDW and this is going to be our very first stay at CSR.

We are booked in a "Preferred" or "Premium" (I forget which term the CM used) Cabana Lakeview Room location.

Is this a good location for children? I've booked three different character dining times, one of which is Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Wilderness Lodge. Is there transportation from CSR to WL or should we just plan to take our own car?

Any other tips or advice?

Thanks so much for this wonderful thread!

Buzz... hoping you can help here, I am sure you answered this question many times already, but we will be at CSR on Sunday :cool1: :cool1:
with our 16 month DD. What are of the resort in your opinion would be the best area for us to stay in. We would like one to be close to th pool and a bus stop if possible. Thanks if you can help out. :earboy2: :earboy2:

CSR now has an internal shuttle system so there is no walking if you don't want to walk. Just wait at the designated stops and a shuttle cart will bring you to and from the main building to your room.

That being said...

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site over the wooden bridge. Most convenient, most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building.

Cabana 8b and 9a are inbetween the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool but is also a smoking optional building.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

So remember, with the new internal shuttle system, room location isn't as crucial as it used to be but I prefer the cabanas.

Thanks so much for this wonderful thread!

waterview can be a view of any body of water or fountain so it isn't necessarily a location that is close to the main building if that is what you wanted. I would call back and make sure you request a cabana building. This is my preference.

Also, read my post above about the shuttles.

I would drive to other resorts if you have that option. No transportation between resorts at WDW.

Forgive me, but I couldn't make it through the 106 pages of this thread.

I am THIS CLOSE to choosing CSR for my bday trip in February. (AKL is my other choice.) Pictures and such from CSR are so appealing to me. Anyway, I've got some ?s.

Will a rollaway bed fit a tall 7yo comfortably? She's about 52"-53". If we get the two doubles, either DH or I will have to sleep with DD, as we are used to a king. With a double, his 6'1" 220# frame pushes my 5'1" 110# self right to the edge of the bed where I cling all night. :crowded: Anyway, we are thinking of requesting a king room with a rollaway. Does a rollaway fit ok? Can we move furniture a bit to help accomodate a rollaway? Is the rollaway comfy? How much is the rollaway? We'll swap turns with DD if need be, but always prefer a king.

Are king room locations limited? We usually request non-smoking and top floor. My plan is waterview, but preferably not pool view. Is this combo possible? (I have never made so many requests!)

The Dig Site pool looks awesome. Is it possible to get your kids away from it?! Of course DH will be at a show during the days, so I can relax with a book while DD swims. Are there a lot of kids at CSR or is it mostly conventioneers?

Thanks for the advice. Really looking forward to finally getting a bday at WDW! (The last in my family by many birthdays!)

Thank you Buzz for that helpful information. I called back and confirmed that I do indeed have a Cabana location and I also added a request for 9B. They said they couldn't guarantee it, but definitely confirmed the request.

Your website is awesome! Now I'm even more excited! :cool1:
