We are finally here! :cool1:

It is so beautiful here!! We got to the resort around 8:30 pm and toured the grounds a little. We ate at PM and it was GREAT! This morning we went to Magic Kingdom, but came back for a little rest and we are going back later tonight. I am glad we chose this resort! We are in Cabanas 8B room 8628, it is very nice. We are a short walk from bus stop 4 and the dig site.
Post more later!!!!
Be sure to post a separate thread for others to see. Glad you are enjoying CSR. I can't wait to return.

Jennjon(or anyone who knows this answer),
We are going in 45 days, and I have scheduled a massage for the DW. My question is: while she is relaxing - will I be able to see the kiddie pool (which will have DD2) as well as the main pool (which will have DD11,DD7 &DS6 - all can swim) at the same time??!?!? :confused3 I can't tell from the maps. Would DW & I be able to see these pools from the hot tub?? - Now I'm pushing it!?!?! ;)

Thanks,

There are areas that you can see the baby pool and the large pool at once. There are tables right at the corner of the baby pool facing the big pool - perfect spot and we sat there a lot. Since the pool is huge though, just make sure your kids stay on the side towards you. As far as the hot tub, that you won't get lucky with. It is surrounding by bushes and you can only see a limited view of the big pool. Nice gesture for you wife - hope you have fun!!

We'll be staying at CSR for ten days over Christmas and would like to have some food items in the room for quick breakfasts such as milk, fruit etc. I thought I read that CSR has fridges in the rooms, is that correct?

Where is the closest grocery store to CSR?

Thanks very much! :flower:

Yes CSR now has a fridge in all rooms. There are several grocery stores in the area but none are all that close. Are you going to have a car or are you going to use a limo service to get to the hotel? I know that some of the limo services will allow a stop at publix on the way to the hotel with no extra charge. I've heard that taxi service to a store is about $20.00. The gift store in CSR has a pretty good selection of cereal and milk and other snacks. The price isn't tooooo outrageous either. Depends on what you want to do. I don't think the price of the groceries in the gift store would be more than the price of the taxi if you don't have a car.

Thank you very much for the helpful information MinnieSummer!

Yes, we will have a car so that wouldn't be a problem and plan on bringing a few non perishables with us. It's good to know that the Gift Store at CSR has some items in case we get in a pinch, so depending on how far an actual grocery store is, we may just rely on that if the prices aren't too different. Sadly, the cost of gas nowadays does factor into things more than it ever has.

Goodings was the nearest supermarket I think (at Crossroads). We found the giftshop was fine though for milk (large containers available in the main gift shop, small cartons only in the "convenience store" next to pepper Market which we only found out AFTER we had bought several small cartons :sad2: ) as well as beers (discount if you buy six :drinking2: ) water, sodas, doughnuts, cookies, pretzels etc. The box lunches in the convenience store were nice - big tuna sandwich plus an apple, for example, plus cereals etc. available if you don't want a trip by car.

Check here for the closest Publix stores.

MazdaUK - Thanks for the great info and tips! The discount on beer might turn out to be especially helpful after a few days in the parks with kids (even the grown ones!) :rotfl2:

BTW, we've travelled to England a few times and absolutely love your beautiful country! I don't think I've had the pleasure of visiting Kent, and while I adore London, I think my favorite spots so far have been the Cotswolds and the Lake District! Definitely the most unique thing we've seen are the wild donkeys that wander into the High Street & shops (I think it was Brockenhurst) in New Forest in Hampshire! :flower:

Buzz - As always, thank you so very much for all of your help. You've probably no idea how much you've helped me plan this trip! :)

diznyfanatic - I won't tell anyone you said it, but
the wild donkeys that wander into the High Street
are New Forest Ponies, a recognised native breed (and a rare one at that!). They also all have owners - just in case any readers were thinking they'd found a great souvenir!

If you're staying in London again its quite easy to visit parts of Kent via train, sometimes you can get special combined train/admission tickets - the Hop Farm near Maidstone is a good day out, also Dover Castle. English Heritage (which runs Dover Castle) does a special "overseas visitors membership" which is cheaper than local membership and enables you to go free to EH properties throughout the UK.

I love the Cotswolds too, but possibly my favourite is Norfolk (for the beaches) or Devon (for the cream teas :rotfl: )

Oh gosh, ponies...did I say donkeys??? I meant to say ponies!!!! ;)

Seriously, please just chalk up my gross error to a faulty memory since turning 40 coupled with the occasional nightmare of travelling with teenagers at the time. They were threatening a mutiny a few times if we visited "one more historical building, bridge or rock!!!" :teeth:

Thanks too for the great suggestions for visiting Kent from London. I would definitely love to visit. I agree too that the Devon cream teas are to die for! :)

I want to call and make my CSR room request, but need a bit of guidance.

I would like a room in the Casita area. We just have a standard room booked, but I really don't want to look out over a parking lot if possible! I love fountains - do many of the Casita rooms overlook fountains? Should I ask for a Casita room with a fountain view, or just a Casita room that doesn't have a parking lot view? :confused3 Thanks!

dznyfanatic - NF ponies are small and shaggy so its an easy mistake to make!!

Casita 1 has a fountain view, casita 2 has a fountain view, casita 3 has a few fountian views and casita 5 has fountain views.

Are the cabanas buildings lit up at night as well as the casitas? The casitas night-time pictures are so pretty, but I haven't seen any of the cabanas at night. :goodvibes

They are lit up but neither the ranchos nor casitas have the courtyards that give you the effect you see in the pictures.

CSR has 2 refillable mugs

16oz - $11.95
64oz - $19.95

These mugs can be filled at many locations throughout the resort for soft drinks, coffee and tea.

Do all multi-story buildings have an elevator? I have two strollers so I want to make sure to ask for a ground room if there are no elevators, especially since we will be there for 12 nights...thanks.
