Oh gosh Buzz... I was just looking at your website and I could feel the pangs of homesickneess :( We were there this time last year. Don't know when we'll get back. Ok I'm going to go and have a good cry now.

Me too. Our countdown is in the 5 month range

I was down there in June and while I found to be a very impressive looking property, I was less than impressed with some of the service in two specific areas.

1) The Pepper Market. Every time wer ate there we were usually seated quite quickly, but leaving was a 20 minute wait. They had dozens of people cleaning the tables and only 1 person on the register. I often would see 2 or 3 managers (or whatever you'd like to call them) milling around, but not managing the situation. When the line is all the way from the registers to the ice cream area (those who have been know how far that is) then something is wrong.

2) The internal transportation. There were always a ton of carts zooming around delivering luggage but hardly ever anyone moving guests around. Its the end of June there are families with little kids, people at conferences in business suits and no one doing internal transport. The place is huge, you are going to ask a guy in a business suit, a 5 yr old, or a 75 yr old person walk from the main building to the way back of the resort? Asking for heat stroke there. We came out of lunch once and saw a bunch of people waiting, asked how long they had been there and it had been 45 minutes. Which is insane. They said they had told the front and had been assured that people were going around the property. We waited about 15 minutes more...all the time the luggage people zooming by almost hitting people all the time they were leaning out of their carts 'peopel are coming around..they around somewhere' not the type of service I expect from Disney. As it turns out there was only 1 cart going. They had thought it was 2 but 1 of their people had gotten ill and just left his cart. Seriously what is up with that? If they guy was ill I understand, but shouldnt he report that? And in a resort that big in the middle of the summer 2 carts?!?! They hold a total of what? 9 people max?

As I said, I found the property itself gorgeous, but the service was lacking in key areas.

We love CSR and we love the Pepper Market as well! I do agree with Monkeypants though on the Pepper Market. We have found that the lines to pay do tend to get long. And there always seems to be someone who is holding the line up. Questioning things, not understanding how it all works. We also agree that the managers are standing around and don't seem to want to speed it up for the customers. However we still eat there day after day because we like the food and the many choices. My DH had a problem with his meal once. When he sat down to eat, it wasn't even warm. He wasn't going to eat it and wanted something else. Of course he didn't want to pay for it so he spoke to a manager who took his card and threw it away, gave him a new one, and said that they were having a problem with that station that night. He didn't give us any problem with it at all, but seemed so annoyed at the people working the station, and was not very friendly to my DH at all. Didn't even apologize for it. That being said, we still love CSR and the Pepper Market and will continue to go there and eat there!!!

We will be there in 23 days and am having a hard time concentrating on work!
I want to buy a refillable mug and go sit out by the lake!
I agree with those that say the PM managers stand around and do nothing but then again isn't that normal for all managers? They really do need more cashiers.

By the way, I'm dancing with everyone!1:banana:

:thewave:

This will be my 3rd stay at Coronado, and I also agree with the previous poster about the lines. I love staying there, it's relaxing and beautiful! How much are the refillable mugs? I didn't know they had those until the day before I left during my last stay. I'm definitely doing that this time.

Don't hold this as gospel truth but I believe the small ones are 11.99 and the large ones are 19.99(plus add tax).

The large ones have got to be about 64oz. because they are ridiculously big.

I hope you expressed you concerns with the resort manager while you were there. Not much can happen to correct those issues here on the DIS.

I agree, they should have a few more CM's working at the register to get you out quickly so you can enjoy your trip. But my experiences have been that the manager would always jump in and open a second register when the line got long.

Internal shuttle service was very quick when we were there in April. They had many of them running around. I only used it once because I don't mind the walk through the cabanas. But I would never wait 45 minutes. The buses also can be used to get to the other villages. DtD and park exit buses stop at bus stop 1 first so that guests can use them to get to the ranchos and other villages. Park buses stop at bus stop 2 first to allow guests to get off at bus stop 1 if they choose not to walk.

:cool1: 68 days until our first trip to the world! (I have not been there for 20 years :earseek: Even more for DH. :earseek: :earseek: )

I chose CSR because of your website Buzz. CSR looks awesome. We can't wait!!

oh yeah I know, I was only sharing my experience not expect anyone on DIS do correct it ;) I wrote them my concerns. My Pepper Market experience did bother me as delayed me getting on to other activities.

The internal transport I was disappointed in and upset form a stand point that my Mom can't do long distances (especially in the heat)and was there with my 2 yr old nephew. And with the conferences going on there were tons of people in buiness clothing and that is not pleasant to be treking across the property in that. It didnt effect me much, I'm 33 and the distance nor heat bothered me all that much, I tended to walk whether or not the cart showed up.

I am hoping to hear form those who have been there resently to hear if things have improved.

This has been asked and answered but I would like your opinion. I am going in Oct w my 2 children. They do not like to walk far and last dec were very tiried after the parks (they fell asleep on the bus) We stayed at POFQ so I didn't have a big walk but it was hard.(i am the only adult)
Where is the best location for the bus stop and the dig site?
Preference would be bus stop but not too far (short walking to pool)
I called the hotel and someone said cabanas 8a and 8b or ranchos 6a
it seems most people here like the cabanas more. also if you can tell me how far to the mail building?
Thanks again
Valerie

Cabana 9b is the closest to everything; main building, bus stop #1 and pool.

Cabanas 8a, 8b and Rancho 7b are also close to bus stop #4 and the main pool.

Rancho 6a and 7a are close to bus stop #3 and thats it.

Casita 5 is close to bus stop #2 with a short walk to the pool and a longer walk to the main building.

CSR does have an internal shuttle system to assist in getting to your village.

Here is a stupid question. Does anyone know if the buildings at CSR have elevators. I'm asking because we are traveling with an infant and I don't want to have to carry his stoller up a bunch of steps. I guess I'll call and request first floor if they don't have elevators. I better do it soon. Look at my ticker :teeth: .

Yes they do have elevators. That would suck if they didn't.

My question is about room safes? Does every room here have a room safe and where is it located cause I don't remember seeing it on our last trip?

Every building has an elevator. Ice machines and soda machines are located next to them.

Yes, every room has a wall safe. It is located in the closest area by the sink. Check my website for photos under NEW, room wall safe.

Anyone familiar with Ranchos 7B? My requests are 7B/quiet room. I also have a water view booking. Looking at the resort map on allears it looks like there aren't any waterview rooms in this building; the dig site is in the way of the lake unless they consider the pool (digsite or quiet) as a water view or the pond across the street is a water view(?). Is there waterview rooms in 7B and where do you think our room will be? I really like the theming of the Ranchos but don't want to be too far away from everything.

Thanks, Calie
