:) Hey Buzz(or anyone else please) I thought you could help me with this one. We are staying at CSR during two football Sundays. Would we be able to watch a game in Franciscos? How many Tvs are there? Would my kids be ok to be in there? Would I be better off going to ESPN or All Star CAfe? Thanks for your help.
Pics of Francisco's are on my site below but I don't think there are any TV's but I'm not 100% sure. Also, it is in the process of being rehabbed and is closed until 10/14/07.

I was at CSR the week of June 18. I happened to be at one of the conventions and did not notice any extra hoopla or noise going on. We were in Cabanas 8A. Very nice location as it was right across fro dig site. Kids loved hammocks and beach. I thought it was very quiet and relaxing. Kind of a big walk to El Centro but that was ok with me all nights but the 2 it rained. That was a pain to walk with kids in rain. We were originally in building 9A and ahd to move as it used to be a smokers buidling and as non smokers it really bothered me. The first thing my DD 7 said in buidling 9 was this smells gross in here Mommy, like cigarettes. I tried to deal with it but after an hour realized I needed to move.

We had a great week. CSR was lovely!

Whichever bus comes first! Since both are about the same distance away it really doesn't matter. Hop on the first bus to AK, or MGM, activate your AP, and return.

CSR is our favorite Mod. Have a great vacation!

Is there an emoticon for hitting myself in the head? :rotfl: Your reply made so much sense! Which ever bus comes first, it is! Thank you! :goodvibes Looking forward to our stay.

Ugh! Sorry about the smell. Ok, so we know Cabana9A was smoking/smoking optional.

Does anyone know what other buildings were former "smoking/smoking optional" at CSR? thanks, tink

Hi there! We are going to be staying at CSR for our October trip. We've stayed there before and loved it - actually preferred it to the GF! I had a couple of questions and I hoped someone here could help.

We booked a King room, but we'd really like a room (and more specifically in the Cabanas section :) ) by the quiet pool. I know there are King rooms with waterviews - we stayed in one the last time. I just don't know if I would be better off changing my reservation to a waterview and then requesting a king bed when I get there or keeping my king reservation and then requesting a pool view?

Also, do handicapped rooms have bathtubs?

Thanks (sorry that was so long)!!! Amy

Here are a few pictures from our last stay:

Hi Amy, Perhaps someone else can answer your questions, but I just wanted to thank you for posting the photos! :) They are gorgeous. I like when folks remember to take pics right outside the door to their room, like you did. I always forget to do that. Seeing the outside of the room really puts it into perspective and makes it easier to imagine being there. I can't wait for our CSR stay next month! Thanks for sharing. tink

It's harder to get a king bed because there are only 124 of them. I'd stick with that.

Also, do handicapped rooms have bathtubs? Some have tubs and some have roll in showers. The thing is you do not know which you will get. There are only 124 king rooms out of 1921 total rooms. Many of the king rooms are handicapped accessible.

These bedspreads are gone. They no longer use these.

Amy, book the king room first if that is what is morst important to you. With limited king rooms they may not be available. When we arrived they were out of king rooms for that night so we were upgraded to a double suite for the week.

Thanks for the reply! We'll stick with the King room and hope for the best with the view/location. We'll need a tub for our daughter, so hopefully that won't be a problem.

Cabana 9a was the only one at CSR.

Buzz-Did I read this right? The only building that was smoking prior to the June 1st non-smoking initiative (;) ) at CSR was/is Cabana 9a? No other rooms in any of the buildings were smoking before? :confused3

I hate to being so picky about my room...my requests:
I'd like a king bed (even though currently there is none available for our dates)
For that king bed room I'd need a bathtub
For that king bed room w/that bathtub I need I also need it to be non-smoking, but not just the new non-smoking, but always non-smoking...do you think they can do that!? :rotfl: :lmao:

I'm sure they'll LOVE me when we check in after midnight!!

I'm still hoping for a king room to open up as after non-smoking that is my most important request!

For that king bed room I'd need a bathtub. Most of the king rooms are have some type of handicap accessibility. A lower bed, a roll in shower...
For that king bed room w/that bathtub I need I also need it to be non-smoking, but not just the new non-smoking, but always non-smoking...do you think they can do that!? It is possible but not easy.

We're booked into CSR starting Aug 11. I just noticed there is a very large convention (aprox 15,000) booked there during the week we chose. Anyone ever stayed at CSR during such a large event? I'm worried about restaurants/pools/ over crowding. Should we consider changing?

Thanks Buzz! Yeah, I'm hoping that all the stars will align for our trip! I guess I could fork over the king bed over the tub! I'm just happy to be in Disney, but I don't know how happy I'd be w/o a tub for 11 nights!! I love soaking my feet after a day at the parks!

Well, time will tell! Thanks again!

I stayed at CSR when the Miracle Network was there. It was huge and guess what, with the exception of one evening at the pool I never even noticed them -- and they had an early morning race around the lake for the kids they help. The only reason I discovered they were there was because my DD recognized someone and went to talk to them. That person was there as a speaker. Marie Osmond was there and some of the other Osmonds and some other pretty big names but it was very low profile and didn't effect other guests at all.

There have been many times when I have been at CSR during a convention and it has NEVER caused any problems. In fact, the busses are usually empty because the conventioneers are doing convention type things while I am heading off to the parks.

Don't worry about it.

Thanks, Minnie. I think the effect may be less with even a large group if the members aren't on their own for their meals and snacks. In this case, it looks like there are multiple Disney hotels being used, with bus transport to CSR for all events. I needed to mull this over, and I think I've decided that it's going to be a little too busy for our getaway.

We are going the same time as you and are waiting for a king to open up as well. I'm thinking it will happen in early Aug when whatever convention is there releases the room block. Hopefully there will be kings left!!

How do you find out what conventions are there and how big they are?

Sorry, I just contain my excitment anymore! We leave for CSR in 80 days!!!

I have stayed at most of the WDW resorts and I am SO looking forward to this trip. I just put in a request for either the Casitas or Ranchos.

Anyone know if the on-site bakery does birthday cakes? I would like to have one waiting in the room on my DHs birthday when we get back from the parks. When it gets closer, I will call the cake hotline - but I wanted to see if anyone has ordered one before.
