The pool is open from 8 a.m. until midnight with lifeguards from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. I thought those hours were more than ample.

I didn't phrase that well. What I mean't was that I wish the lifeguards were there longer. We were there until 9:00 and that last hour without lifeguards was packed with families coming back from the parks. There were so many kids in the pool and everyone seemed very tired that it just seemed unsafe.

Does anyone have a pic of inside a king room? We stayed in one (loved it btw) And now I'm finally getting started on our trip scrapbook, and I never took any pictures of our room. Just video.

Any help appreciated!

Regarding Handicapped rooms, I could see the setup being a problem. With each room we had at the Cabanas it was necessary to do a lot of winding around to get to a main walkway. It was a bit of a hassle with a stroller, and I'd hate to have to do it in a wheelchair.

Princess Amy -

We will be there almost the same time.. We arrive on the first of December and leave on the 8th.. Maybe we need to meet up for margaritas :goodvibes

Does anyone who has been to CSR recently have photos of the new lounge area and construction going on for Francisco's? Just curious about where they put the new lounge and what it looks like.....

Thanks.

Thanks to Buzz for this great thread!!

My husband and I are going to stay at CSR from 9/13-9/16 for our 10th anniversary-just the two of us. We are 36 and 37 and have been to the world a number of times, including our honeymoon. We were able to take advantage of the free dining, which is a plus. A few questions:

What location (in your opinion) should we request if we would like a quieter area? We do not mind walking to pools or food court. We are currently booked in a standard room. We would prefer a king, but none are available at this time. Should I keep looking and see if one opens up or just let my TA note on our ressie that we would like a king?

Do they do anything special for you if you are celebrating an anniversary? Something like a pin or tshirt or hat or something? Or a free photo? We took our honeymoon at CBR and we received a picture of Mickey and Minnie in a congratulatory card when we checked in. I am not looking for anything, just wondering if they do special things on occasion. Do they ever upgrade to a suite? Again, not expecting anything just wondering if it has ever happened to anyone here.

We will be using ME for the first time. Our flight gets in to MCO at 10:30am and we are wondering how long it would take us to get to CSR roughly? Can we check in to get our passes at least if a room is not ready for us? We have an ADR at 3pm at San Angel Inn at EC. Will this work out for us?

Someone said you can have the concierge print out your boarding passes for SWA. Our flight leaves at 6pm and we wanted to try to hit a park that am. How far in advance of your flight does ME usually pick up?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give. WDW was not our original plan for our anniversary trip, but since I am getting some time off from work with pay (instead of taking off without pay) this trip works the best for us. We are excited about CSR and have wanted to stay here for a while. We tried WL in December and I will say that I think deluxe is overrated. Give me mods any day.;) Any other thoughts or insights would be appreciated.

Thanks

Congrats!

It can't hurt if that is what you want. Follow the info on allearsnet.com for faxing room requests too. Let them know it is your anniversary.

Here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. Most convenient location and most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool and is also a smoking optional building.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building.

They did the photo and card for my DD on her birthday.

Can we check in to get our passes at least if a room is not ready for us? yes We have an ADR at 3pm at San Angel Inn at EC. Will this work out for us? Should be no problem.

Someone said you can have the concierge print out your boarding passes for SWA. yes they will. Our flight leaves at 6pm and we wanted to try to hit a park that am. How far in advance of your flight does ME usually pick up? Not sure, never used it.

Thanks for the quick response Buzz!! I have made sure that my TA has noted our ressie, so I am hopeful for some pixie dust to come our way!! I will keep trying to get the king room, if not then DH and I will each get our own bed!! Just like on our honeymoon!!:rotfl: A double is just too small for two grown adults to share IMHO.

Glad to know about the ME and the concierge. That helps DH so now he does not feel like he needs to bring the laptop just to print boarding passes! I am sure I will have more questions. Thanks again.

Thanks.

Also curious about the construction and it's progress. Will be there May 31  and wondering what it looks like and if new lounge is completed.

I don't have pictures but I can describe it. If you have been there before, the lower tier of the patio outside the PM closer to the lounge is now walled off with ugly painted plywood. The area closest to the building is also walled off with same plywood. There is an open walkway through this. From the inside, the Arcade is closed anda wall extends down to the former lounge area. It is very dark walking through here now. Those are the only areas that areaffected. It really wasn't so bad but from the extent of the construction this new lounge looks like it will be very large.

OOOhh you are gonna have such a wonderful time! we stayed in the casitas and really loved it. And it was quiet. and beautiful, with beautiful fountains, shrubs, flowers etc. Personnally I liked casitas better than rancheros. Rancheros would probably be the quietest - (always dependent on your neighbors) but most convention people stay in casitas which = less children= less noise. We did not have any problem with the convention attendees. Not once did I see it walking back and forth to busses or the lobby. however I have read a few threads of individuals having a problem with it.

When we checked in, our ta noted it was my birthday that week- they gave me a birthday button and told me to wear it all week- I did- DH told me I sure got the miles out of that birthday!:dance3: so be sure it is noted on your resie about the anniversary. I also got a birthday card and balloons in our room on my birthday as well.

Keep trying to get that king room booked - it may open up. If none are available now - they probably wont be available at check in unless you are able to snag a cancellation.

.... How far in advance of your flight does ME usually pick up? ...

Thanks

I'm pretty sure it's 3 hours before your flight. At least I know it was last Sept.
BTW, we will be at CSR 9/12-9/17. Maybe we'll see you there!

I agree. Each time we have used DME, they have picked us up 3 hours prior to our flight time. The day before you leave Disney, a little packet with all of your DME info will be sent to your room.

Hi there! after MUCH deliberating and researching we finally decided & booked our trip for Sept 12- Sept 19th @ CSR!!!!!::yay: . We have stayed at POP(1), ASM(1) & Poly(3). We are SO excited to experience this resort. Our children will be 4 & 5 and we just fell in love with the play areas/pools for them! One of the key deciding factors between moderates was the reviews of the bus system. Our DS4 is autistic and has absolutely sworn off his stroller :guilty: We stayed at the Poly because of the monorail but it just wasn't in the budget this year:sad2: Thank you so much to BUZZ and all his fabulous and invaluable info..:woohoo: And to all others who have taken the time to share your experiences to help get the 'magic' pixiedust: organized for the rest of us. :grouphug:
After reading all the info/reviews on this resort that I could get my hands on...:surfweb: I do have just ONE question at the moment  Does anyone know if Bass Ale is available at CSR...?:drinking1

We are also booked for CSR for Sept 8 - 15. We have been to wdw many times but this is our very first time staying on Disney property. We are celebrating our 25th anniversary. I'm so excited!!!!. I have been reading and checking for as much info and pictures as I can on this site. We also requested a room with a king bed. If not, maybe we can push the beds together, or meet somewhere in the middle.( wink, wink).

Does the PM have those little containers of Half & Half that we can grab to take back to our room for our morning coffee? Or do they sell pints or quarts of Half & Half anywhere at the resort?

My friend and I will be there at the exact same time. Look for two ladies, one redhead, one blonde (that's me) with big ole' grins on their faces because they are having a blast and left grumpy old husbands at home. Needless to say, we did NOT request a king bed.;)
